Elements of the Israeli Border Police, Yasam riot control unit and the Jereselum police force have been dealing with Palestinian protesters over the previous week in the vicinity of the Al Aqsa mosque over a dispute with security entrances that came about because of the murder of two Israeli police officers. Due to the size of crowds during the protests, numerous crowd control measures have been taken. Newsworthy to us at TFB is the usage of various 37mm stand alone launchers, in addition to a muzzle mounted rifle grenade cup, discharging a tear gas grenade via a blank 5.56x45mm round.

The traditional wisdom goes: Lightweight or “pencil” profile barrels can shoot great – just so long as you don’t get them hot. After a mag or two of heat is dumped into your lightweight build, your point of impact (POI) will probably shift by several minutes of angle. If you don’t like it, then you’d better go for a thicker profile or learn your holdovers, because that’s just a fact of life with pencil-thin tubes.

Lead Star Arms has introduced a lightweight AR-15 stock called Ravage. It is CNC machined out of a solid block of 7075 T6 aluminum and weighs only 6 oz! It is a fixed stock, that is to say, a non-adjustable one. The way it attaches to the buffer tube (or receiver extension, if you will) is that it clamps on it. So you need to slide the Ravage stock onto the buffer tube and tighten the screw to fix it in place.

The AR-15 and M-16 variant rifles were originally designed for use with a bayonet, but with free float  full-length hand guards being all the rage with tactical operators these days no one ever uses a bayonet anymore. Well the folks over at Bayonext have just the answer for you with their Bayonext Out The Front Bayonet. Because no one rocks a bayonet lug anymore (if you are, get with the program gramps and get a tactical rail) the Bayonext was designed to mount to most modern rail systems on the market by way of a standard one inch tactical light mount. So in case you run out of ammo during the zombie apocalypse or patrolling the mall you’ll have a deployable 7.5 inch pike ready to go.

A Swiss startup company called Swiss Tactical Technologies is designing handgun lights and lasers which have a couple of unique features. First, they are integrated with the frame. As you can see in the computer mockup image, the dust cover portion of what looks to be a 1911 frame is enlarged to house the light and laser. The second feature is that it will be possible to wirelessly charge the batteries using charging mats/pads.

The St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office has posted an announcement on their Facebook page describing a sting operation in which they cooperated with ATF agents to purchase an unregistered SBR from a local trying to sell the rifle online. Peter Chirco, the owner of the rifle even knew that the rifle was under the legal 16-inch barrel length when he posted it online, in addition to even being barred from several local shooting ranges because the range staff realized the illegality of the rifle itself.From the Facebook post-

Like many children of the 80’s, I enjoy playing video games. No, they aren’t remotely “combat simulators” or any of that sort of nonsense. They’re just fun entertainment. One of my all time favorites has been the Fallout series of post apocalyptic, alternate history sci-fi. If you haven’t played it, Fallout takes place in a world that is very much like we thought the future might look like in the 1950’s. Well, that future after a thermonuclear war. There are plenty of futuristic lasers and plasma rifles, but there are also more traditional guns and cobbled together homebrew guns. This is where Raider14 of AR15.com took his inspiration for his post apocalyptic AR build.

A company called Armament (yes, simply Armament) manufactures an AR-15 buffer called L.A.R.B. (Linear Alignment Recoil Buffer). When you look at this buffer, you can immediately notice its enlarged tail portion. That allows having the second point of contact with the buffer spring and provides better alignment of the buffer and spring inside the buffer tube.

If you’re not already tired of another California compliant AR-15 part post here’s another one coming down the pipeline from Hogue. They’re putting together their own fixed mag conversion kit to help Californians make their ARs California compliant. They’re calling their kit the Freedom Fighter Fixed Magazine Conversion Kit. Kinda funny that you’d use a kit called the “Freedom Fighter” for a rifle you’re making compliant to California’s laws.

When it comes to mounting optics on AR-15s or any of our beloved black guns, a solid one piece mount is what most of us look for. Possibly the most popular or well known one on the market is the Burris AR-P.E.P.R. (AR – Proper Eye Position Ready) mount. A close second place draws many other brands to mind like the Nikon M-223 (Monarch-223), Leupold Mark 2 IMS (Integral Mounting System) or Vortex Viper mounts. Weaver has been in the optics game for decades, but only now are joining the ranks of these other companies in making a dedicating AR mount.

Recent photographs and information have come to light detailing the possible adoption of the Heckler & Koch G28 by Turkish special operations groups. Specifically the Turkish Combat Search & Rescue (Muharebe Arama Kurtarma) component of the Turkish Air Force has received the rifles possibly as early as 2014. From what we understand the CSAR component might have got them from trials done on the G28 by Army commandos but due to the political situation between Turkey and Germany over the refugee crisis (among others), the supply might have fallen through.
