In this episode of TFBTV, James gets a look at a pre-production version of the Vortex Diamondback Tactical. The DBT is going to be released in March 2017 with an MSRP of around $400 and a street price around $300. This is a very reasonably priced 4-12x magnification optic and features exposed turrets with marked MOA adjustments, 40mm objective, adjustable zero markers, rev markers, and a host of other features. In a bizarre news story, WFTV reports that a man named Elvis was arrested by Flordia Highway Patrol for shooting at cows with an AR-15 on the Flordia Turnpike. If you pay attention to the news, there is no shortage of interesting and humorous “Florida Man” news stories, some of them far more bizarre than others.

ZEV Technologies, a company known for their custom, high-end GLOCKs, GLOCK parts, and accessories and Mega Arms, a manufacturer known for their AR-15 rifles, parts, and accessories today announced a merger of the two firearm companies.

The mad geniuses at Battle Arms Development are hard at it again this year with a product for SHOT Show 2017 that is entirely relevant to the AR-15 shooter stuck with California’s new firearms laws.

At last years SHOT Show it seemed like everyone was making pistol caliber ARs that used Glock mags. At SHOT Show this year I stumbled upon a company that’s making a new product to cater to all those pistol caliber AR owners. Tritech Tactical debuted their new AR pistol grip that’s also a mag holder they call the Mag-N-Grip.

American Tactical Imports (ATI) showed off their AR-15 shotgun chambered in .410 gauge a few years back, well they’re finally coming out. I was walking through ATI’s booth to go fondle their MP-40 replica chambered in 9mm when I stumbled on the Omni Hybrid .410 shotgun. The new shotgun uses ATI’s OMNI Hybrid Mil-Spec, multi-caliber, polymer and metal lower receiver. The lower also uses a standard AR-15 6 position stock. The upper has a 2.5″ chamber and an 18.5″ barrel, 13″ free float rail with Keymod slots and a full length Picatinny rail up top.

Along with a few new suppressors Yankee Hill Machine also debuted a new customizable muzzle brake they’re calling the ‘Adaptable Brake Assembly’ at the 2017 SHOT Show. While adjustable and tunable muzzle brakes are nothing new, the new Yankee Hill Machine muzzle brake is a bit different in that it allows the user to change what caliber or barrel thread pattern they can use. The YHM Adaptable Brake Assembly uses the same front and rear caps as the Nitro 30 caliber suppressor which is also a very modular setup.

Just in time for SHOT Show 2017 Magpul just announced another new product right after their debut of their new X-22 Backpacker Stock, this time they unveiled their new PMAG 30 AR 300 B Gen M3 Mags for the 300 BLK cartridge. Why would Magpul release a 300 BLK specific mag when you can use 5.56 mags with 300 BLK? While you can use 5.56 mags with 300 BLK ammo some mags have feeding issues when using some of the various 300 BLK bullet weights and profiles. These new PMAGS should help alleviate this.

Who doesn’t love a sub gun? How about a sub gun in 10mm? Patrick takes several calibers of the KRISS sub gun on a test drive along with the brand new DMK-22 AR-15 styled .22 lr gun. Tons of new products for KRISS and even a night sight solution for Sphinx SDP owners!

Early this morning I woke to a brand new press release detailing the latest factory produced wildcat-style cartridge offered by our friends over at Nosler. They claim that the new cartridge will boast velocities that rival the 22-250 cartridge while fitting into an AR-15 platform.

Nordic Components has joined the legion of manufacturers of AR-15-based pistol caliber carbines but with a neat little twist. The Nordic Pistol Caliber Carbine will feature a removable, interchangeable, modular magazine well system that will allow for the use of different makes and models of pistol magazines.

At last year’s SHOT Show, we gave you a peek at the upcoming Defiance DMK-22 rifle and hinted at a release date as well as a pretty interesting feature. Well now that they have come out and said it in the below press release, the DMK-22 will accept MOST Ruger 10/22 barrels as well as MOST .22 lr AR-15 mags.

Many of the weapon designers I have come to know well have very strong opinions on magazines. Outside of the suitability of one type (straight drop vs rocker) or staggered vs. single feed, they all universally agree that the weapon system is only as good as its magazines. It does not matter how well toleranced, machined, or timed a modern weapon is without good magazines that retain and present rounds to the action at the correct height, angle and pressure.

Cross Machine Tool recently debuted their new ZCOMP-L Linear Muzzle Device. The ZCOMP-L was designed for use with short barreled rifles and pistols, like with a bunch of other muzzle devices on the market it was designed to help direct the muzzle blast forward and away from the shooter. If you’ve ever shot an AR-15 pistol then you know those things put out quite a bit of muzzle blast and concussion. The ZCOMP-L will be available for both 5.56 and .30 cal AR-15s.
