New HM Defense HMB AR-15 Bolt with Cam Pin Socket
HM Defense has announced that their new HMB AR-15 bolt is now available for purchase. What makes it different is that instead of having a cam pin hole it has a cam pin socket. In other words, the cam pin hole in this bolts is not machined all the way which increases the amount of material in one of the weakest portions of the AR-15 bolt.

Gungner GR22 Chassis for Ruger 10/22 Rimfire Rifles
A company called Gungner makes a Ruger 10/22 chassis which transforms the good old plinker into a tactical looking AR15 style rig. The chassis utilizes Ruger 10/22 controls. You can see what look to be AR-15 controls, but these are “fake” ones just to make it look like an AR-15 for the sake of coolness. However, the GR22 is compatible with AR-15 stocks and pistol grips.

G36 Replacement Candidates Leaked Through Jane's
The G36’s replacement is now known to be one of five guns – or at least that’s the report coming from reputable defense outlet IHS Jane’s. Competing in Germany’s System Sturmgewehr Bundeswehr (Bundeswehr Assault Rifle System) will be the Rheinmetall RS556, Heckler & Koch HK433, Haenel Defence MK556, SIG MCX, and FNH SCAR. For four contestants, no known 7.62mm variants exist; only the FN SCAR has a 7.62mm variant – the SCAR-H – that is known publicly. This means the Bundeswehr will likely not be going back to .30 caliber infantry rifles any time soon.
Trump Administration to Ease ITAR Export Restrictions, Industry Stocks Spike
The current US administration is looking to release many of the restrictions on weapons exports, according to a recent article at Reuters. Currently, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) limit the ability for US arms companies to sell weapons overseas. However, the Trump administration is reportedly planning to change the jurisdiction for most arms exports from the State Department to the Commerce Department, which would likely make such exports substantially easier. The State Department’s focus is primarily on security and stability, which means they generally err on the side of less exports rather than more, but the Commerce Department is primarily focused on facilitating international trade. This strongly suggests that arms exports as handled by the Commerce Department would be facilitated by the agency, rather than obstructed, as the trend has been under the State Department.

SIG Sauer RECALLS SIG716 DMR, SIG516 Carbon Fiber and SIGM400 Predator
Several models of rifles from manufacturer SIG Sauer are now being recalled, the company announced in a release Friday. The issue stemmed from a problem in the heat treatment of the hammer of SIG’s two-staged trigger used in the SIG716 DMR, SIG516 Carbon Fiber, and SIGM400 Predator models. SIG’s release claimed that over time, this flawed heat treatment could cause a malfunction “creating a significant safety hazard”. Therefore, SIG is issuing a mandatory recall on these models, so that their trigger assemblies can be replaced, free of charge. According to the release, no law enforcement guns are affected by the recall.
Sons Of Liberty Gun Works Talks Staking AR-15 Castle Nuts | Yes, It Is Necessary
Every time that I ding a rifle for not having the endplate properly staked, I expect no less than 6 neckbeards in the comments screaming about how it is 2017 and thread locking compounds have come so far. I am never disappointed and I fully expect the comments on this post to be no different.

The company announced that it was expanding its MkW ANVIL line to include several new semi-automatic rifles and pistols chamber for the 6.5 Grendel.
