[SHOT 2022] PSA Shows off their PSAK-105, Tease 5.56 AK
Today at Industry Day at the Range for SHOT 2022, Palmetto State Armory showed off their PSAK-105, a 5.45 AK variant. I got a chance to see and shoot it, and I have to say that I was very impressed. The staff at the booth also teased a 5.56 AK, but unfortunately did not have one at the booth itself today.

Today at Shot Show’s Industry Day at the Range, Walther showed off for the first time their brand new PDP SD Pro. [SHOT 2022] Silencer Central Sponsors "Industry Day at the Range" App
It is officially that wonderful time of year where the firearm industry comes together to unveil some of their biggest products and announcements for the year. We are officially talking about SHOT Show (Shooting, Hunting, Outdoor, and Trade Show). This includes multiple days on a convention floor where manufacturers are showing of their ‘wares as well as an exclusive range day dubbed Industry Day at the Range. Something that is new this year will be the “Industry Day at the Range” app for your smartphone sponsored by Silencer Central.
[SHOT 2022] First Shots with the Savage 110PCS Bolt Action Pistol
Today at NSSF’s Industry Day at the Range, I got a chance to take a few shots with Savage’s new 110 PCS bolt action pistol. Savage is no stranger to having a bolt handle and ejection port on opposite sides, as some of their varmint and target rifles in the past have had ejection ports on the left and bolts on the right. The opposite configuration on this pistol makes for a quick handling compact firearm, with no need to take your firing hand off the grip to work the action. Using the Vortex Crossfire II scout scope, I was easily clanging targets downrange with this fun little gun.
SILENCER SATURDAY #211: Sunday SHOT Show 2022 Suppressor Preview
Welcome back to TFB’s Silencer Saturday brought to you by Yankee Hill Machine, manufacturers of the YHM Turbo K rifle suppressor. Last week we kicked off our suppressor survey to ask everyone about their perspectives on NFA ownership. The survey is still live through 1/31/2022 (win prizes). Today (yes, I know it’s Sunday) we are going to look at a SHOT Show 2022 Suppressor Preview. My apologies for missing the Saturday cutoff; the Wi-Fi on my flight went down somewhere over Kansas.

As fun as the show is, SHOT is a grueling week for our team – we do our best to bring you the newest guns and gear announced by companies around the world.
BREAKING NEWS: SIG Sauer Will Not Attend SHOT Show 2022
SIG Sauer will not be exhibiting at SHOT Show 2022 taking place in Las Vegas this coming January. The absence of SIG, normally one of the show’s largest booths, is almost certain to create ripples throughout the industry. After last year’s cancellation, many manufacturers donated money to the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF), the organizer of the decades-old convention. As of now, the event is scheduled to start on January 18th with exhibition halls in both the Venetian Expo and Caesar’s Forum.
[SHOT 2021] Peek-A-Boo! The Silver Shadow Corner Shot Scorpion
The ability to shoot from behind cover is pretty cool. More importantly, it can keep you alive. With good ol’ fashioned Israeli engineering, the CornerShot made this a real possibility. Extending the reach of the famous CornerShot, Silver Shadow Israel has introduced the Corner Shot Scorpion.
[SHOT 2021] Primary Arms SLx 1x and 3x MicroPrism Scopes
Primary Arms have published their 2021 catalog which includes a number of new products. In this article, we’ll take a look at the new family of compact prism scopes called SLx MicroPrism. These scopes are designed from the ground up and according to Primary Arms, have passed extensive endurance testing during the development such as withstanding 7000 rounds of .308 Win fired through a SCAR-17S. Currently, there are two sights in this product line – the non-magnified SLx 1x MicroPrism and the SLx 3x MicroPrism which has fixed 3-power magnification.
[SHOT 2021] USAC AR-15 Lower Receiver with Built-in Receiver Tensioning System
In the new products section of the SHOT Show On Demand, the virtual version of the world’s largest arms exhibition, I came across this rather interesting AR-15 lower receiver made by the U.S. Arms Company (USAC). What makes the USAC M-4 CLS UTAW lower receiver unique is the built-in mechanism that allows applying tension and tightening the upper and lower receivers against each other.
[SHOT 2021] SIG Sauer P320 XCarry Legion Pistol
New from SIG Sauer this year is the P320 XCarry Legion, a compact pistol set up with a threaded barrel, suppressor height night sights, and a flared magwell. In addition, it has the tungsten infused grip module for added weight and comes ready for a pistol optic. SIG has also equipped the three included magazines with aluminum Henning Group base pads for extra capacity. The XCarry Legion seems to be the only threaded pistol in SIG’s current catalogue, as the most recent “TacOps” threaded pistols were discontinued in 2019.
[SHOT 2021] New from Strike Industries – GEN5 Magwell for Glock G5 19/23
When the Gen5 Glocks were announced, reactions were a mixed bag. Some people welcomed changes like the flared magwell, while others either didn’t want it or thought it wasn’t enough. Well, for the people who wanted more flare in their lives, a new option now exists. True to themselves, Strike Industries has released a sharp, minimalistic magwell for Gen5 Glock 19/23 frames. This is the Strike Industries GEN5 Magwell.
[SHOT 2021] New Armscor International VR82 20ga Semi-Auto Shotgun
The VR series semi-automatic shotguns from Armscor International / Rock Island Armory get an addition with the 20 gauge version called VR82. The thumbhole stock design reminds me of the HERA Arms CQR stock, don’t you agree?
[SHOT 2021] Rock River Arms Introduce The RBG-1S Precision Bolt Action Rifle
Rock River Arms is well known for their quality AR-15 rifles, but they’ve just announced a brand new precision bolt action rifle, the RBG-1S series. RRA actually ran a soft launch of the RBG-1S at SHOT Show 2019 but took their time to hone it. Early examples featured a fluted barrel, but that was one of the things that were refined on the final product. RRA states that the RBG rifle action is a proprietary short action receiver, fitted with a stainless steel, threaded barrel with varying length options and uses AICS pattern magazines.
[SHOT 2021] New Timney Alpha Competition Glock Triggers
Timney Triggers has released a new series of competition handgun triggers called Alpha. First in line in the Timney Alpha series is a new trigger for the Glock Gen 3 and Gen 4 pistols. Timney’s trigger bar and sear are Teflon nickel treated, with a pull weight of three pounds. All stock Glock parts and springs are kept. According to Timney, the break is “crisp”, and the trigger is easy to install with no gunsmithing needed.
[SHOT 2021] ZEV Tech & SIG Sauer Collaboration – The ZEV Octane Z365XL
A lot of us have the need to increase the amount or the extent of things and carry guns are no exception. So after the ZEV Z365 Octane, enter the Octane Z365XL. As you can imagine, it’s the “hot rod” version of the SIG Sauer 365XL, and mainly intended for 9×19 mm carry.
[SHOT 2021] DryFireMags Now Available for Springfield XD, S&W M&P and SIG P320

Well, they now have training mags available for the Springfield XD, S&W M&P and SIG Sauer P320 pistols, with M&P Shield mags coming soon as well.

[SHOT 2021] SIG P320MAX Pistol
New from SIG Sauer Inc. this year is the SIG P320MAX. Replete with his logo on the side, this pistol seems to be the evolution of what Team Sig Captain, Top-Tier pistolero and US Army Veteran Max Michel has come up with. Based off the P320 X-Five Legion, the P320MAX sports a bull barrel, unique slide serrations, and a one-piece guide rod. All of this is topped off with a Romeo3MAX pistol optic. I could be wrong, but I do believe this was the configuration that Max Michel used in his win at the USPSA Area 5 competition this last fall in Kentucky.
[SHOT 2021] Stoeger Snow Goose Hi Cap Shotgun
New for 2021 from Stoeger is a special winter optimized hunting shotgun with an eye towards snow geese hunting. With the addition of their 10 round magazine tube from their M3K 3Gun Freedom series model, plus other loading and operation features optimized for heavy gloved use, the M3500 becomes a snow goose harvesting machine. Just don’t forget an extra long dowel when using it for certain other game birds.

[SHOT 2021] Ducks Beware – The Browning Maxus II Camo
Since prehistory, hunters have covered their bodies and faces in materials to camouflage themselves from their prey. When you’re putting food on the table, you want as many advantages as possible. Combining both of these ideas, Browning has introduced the 12 gauge Maxus II Camo, which comes in a variety of patterns and offers a number of advantages. If ducks don’t have nightmares, they’re about to start.

[SHOT 2021] Black and Venomous – The Volquartsen Mamba-X
Pistols chambered in .22LR have been slaying tin cans in the backyard for decades. This, however, is not your Grandpappy’s .22. In the rimfire competition world, few names conjure the feeling of solid, sleek, and precise like Volquartsen. If you are a fan of their previous pistols, you’re going to want to pay attention. Black and venomous, in slithers the Volquartsen Mamba-X.
