[SHOT 2020] Kalashnikov USA American AKs, Competition Rifles, and More!

Kalashnikov USA had a number of different offerings this year, everything from an all-American 7.62x39mm AKM rifle to competition entries from Decedent Arms who are putting their competition modifications to the AK-patterned platforms. Probably the most important point that readers are interested in is the 7.62x39mm AKM that Kalashnikov is putting out, in addition to the 9x19mm “Vintorez” pistol. Also out is the 12 gauge ‘firearm’ that Kalashnikov USA is releasing this year for 2020. Kalashnikov also has a California compliant 9mm PPC that will be available with California featureless regulations.

[SHOT 2020] Walther Q4 SF Optics Ready and 380 CCP

Walther’s 9x19mm Q4 SF steel-framed handgun is based on their earlier Q5 Match, except with an optics-ready plate that allows users to mount an optic of their choice to the handgun. The pistol is intended as a carry version of the Q5 which was received with much fanfare last year but many requested that a carry version be brought to market.

[SHOT 2020] Binary For The Plinker: Franklin Armory 10/22 Binary Trigger

Franklin Armory is coming out with a Binary trigger for the Ruger 10/22 platform. The trigger will have ambidextrous controls with a safe, semi, and binary option, allowing shooters to fire a round when the trigger is pressed and then another round when the trigger is depressed from the trigger reset position. The selector is similar to an early M1 Carbine selector switch with the toggle switch. Currently, the trigger will only come in one color, but there are options out there on the market.

[SHOT 2020] Hatsan's Harpoon PCP Arrow Launcher

New for 2020 from Hatsan is a PCP airgun that launches arrows (no, the arrows aren’t laced with PCP).  A  bullpup configuration in that the chamber is rear of the grip and triggerguard, the Harpooon launches 20″ arrows at a muzzle velocity of 600fps.  Hatsan quotes a “muzzle energy” of 310 ft-lbs.  If this is accurate, this would put the Harpoon ahead of most crossbows energy-wise.  The Harpoon can fire 10 shots at nominal velocity, weighs 9.5lbs and has an MSRP of $849.  The Harpoon also has a provision to carry two spare arrows, one on either side of the weapon.

[SHOT Show 2020] NEW Springfield 1911 Ronin Operator – Government & Commander

Springfield Armory leading into SHOT Show 2020 unveiled their 1911 Ronin Operator to the world, but we finally were able to put our hands on it while attending SHOT Show 2020. The firearm that you may have already seen on the internet and murmurings at gun shops is a 5″ barrel model commonly referred to as a ‘Government’ size. To our surprise, it appears that Springfield Armory is going to be making both a Government profile (5″ barrel) 1911 Ronin Operator as well as a Commander profile (4.25″ barrel) version.
