[SHOT 2020] Safety Harbor – Grand Power Stribog Glock Magazine AR Lower

Well, that title is a little gibberish-y, but I promise it’s completely accurate. At SHOT 2020 today Safety Harbor is showing off its newest product, an AR lower designed specifically to work with both the Grand Power Stribog upper and Glock magazines at the same time. It is almost, but not quite, an AR-9 lower that’s been modified for the Stribog. As I’m sure you are all aware, the first question anyone asks about any new gun that takes a pistol caliber cartridge is whether or not it takes Glock magazines. Well, now the Stribog does indeed take Glock magazines. As long as you’re willing to buy the Safety Harbor lower for it.

[SHOT 2020] Armaspec – Rifter Linear Muzzle Brake

Armaspec is known for its recoil management systems, especially their Stealth Recoil Spring. They also manufacture a variety of other AR products, including magwells, safety selectors (ambidextrous of course), extended mag releases, and so on. Today, at SHOT 2020 Armaspec’s booth was showing off their brand new Rifter Linear Muzzle Brake. Through the use of internal channels, the sound moves forward, away from the shooter. Importantly, it also sends the sound and concussion away from anyone standing off to the side. The ports on the top of the shield control the gas and help to both mitigate muzzle rise. Additionally, they direct recoil back toward the shooter. Gasses move through the aforementioned interior channels in order to delay their expulsion.

Fight Germs at SHOT with the OCD: On-Demand Cleanliness Dispenser

SHOT Show is massive. Last year roughly 2,400 exhibitors showed up to cover 700,000 square feet of space (that equals about 12 football fields) at Las Vegas’ Sands Expo and Convention Center. They set up shop over approximately 12 miles of booth aisles and hauled in more than 7 million pounds of goods, including 15,000 firearms of all shapes and sizes. What draws so much attention every year? It’s the $8 billion firearms industry’s diehard fans and ambassadors attending this convention from all over the world – upwards of 60,000 such attendees in 2019! When you bring that many people into close proximity, one inexorable consequence is the spread of communicable disease.

Interesting Products at SHOT Show 2019 From Smaller Companies

Now that most of the SHOT Show hype has subsided, I wanted to post about a few products at the show that I found interesting. Most, if not all, the products below were found in the “basement” halls. Those are the halls on the lower floor where smaller and up-and-coming companies have their booths. You can really find some gems down there, as well as lots of stuff that’s pretty meh. The main hall at the show is where all the big boys are found, Glock, Sig Sauer, HK, Smith & Wesson etc. That’s where most of the popular products that get all the YouTube and blog hits are, but I like to explore and see what else the SHOT Show has to offer.
