ZEV Technologies has just announced its latest offering to the semi-automatic rifle market – the new Core Combat Rifle series. This new series of full-size and intermediate-chambered AR rifles are built to be rugged, accurate, and built to outlast other rifles. Available in 5.56, 308, and 6.5 Creedmoor, the new rifles will also feature from-the-factory Cerakote finishes and forged upper and lower receivers.

With the current level of violence and uncertainty that seems to be neverending, more and more people are unlocking the First-Time Gunowner achievement. I see this happening personally, as friends who were previously only interested in concealed carry are asking me for advice on buying AR-15s. One of the biggest barriers to most is cost, especially if you want a quality rifle. Known for quality ARs, FN has expanded its FN 15 line to include the slick-side Guardian, a rifle sitting right at $1,000.

Luke is catching up with Ranko from Zastava Arms USA at NRAAM 2023 to check out the new M92 Rifle – the closest thing you can get to a Serbian Krink! The new Zastava M92 rifle is in all actuality an M92 pistol that has been fitted with one of Zastava’s underfolding stocks, as well as a pinned and welded barrel extension to meet the minimum length requirements the ATF currently has outlined for the M92 Rifle to not be considered an SBR. The M92 Rifle will be available within a month or two and will be less than $1,500 MSRP.

Luke C is at the 2023 NRA Annual Meetings and Expo checking out Shield Arms’ new folding stock 9mm pistol caliber carbine – the Shield Arms SA-9. The SA-9 takes the proprietary Shield Arms lower and combines it with some of the industries leading rifle component manufacturers to give their customers an improved folding AR experience.

In this article, I had some rimfire stuff on my mind since Luke C reached out and asked if I could fill in on Rimfire Report (I unfortunately have been pretty busy). It made me think of back when I was going to school for gunsmithing and repaired my father’s boyhood 22LR rifle. I’ll save that story for a future Rimfire Report whenever I am called upon again but for now, I wanted to do a commentary article on the Marlin Model 60 series of rifles. All variations of it apply even my dad’s old Coast to Coast Model 40 that he asked his father to buy him in the early 70s. Let’s dive right into this Marlin Model 60 commentary!

While we’re all still over here waiting with baited breath for the release of the modernized working man’s gun (the YC-9), Hi-Point continues to tease us with surprising releases like the new 10mm JXP 10, and now their new Model 3095 30 Super Carry Carbine, the industry’s first pistol-caliber carbine chambered in this cartridge.

If you’re the proud owner of the unique KRISS Vector SDP (the version with a 6.5″ barrel) you’re probably lacking some much-needed space in terms of areas for attachments like lights, lasers, and verticle foregrips. Strike Industries has just announced their latest aftermarket accessory specifically for the KRISS Vector SDP with their new Stike Handguard featuring M-LOK attachment sections.

TV and film guns are always going to be popular collector’s items and while some of them are often creations directly from the bench of a deranged gunsmith, some prop movie guns are meant to be literal representations of real-world firearms. In this particular example on Gunbroker, we see an H&K MR556A1 SBR that is intended to resemble an HK416D that was used by the US Navy Seals during the raid on Bin Landen’s compound back in 2011. This firearm was converted for use with blanks by Point Blank Props’ for use during the filming of the movie Zero Dark Thirty, a Hollywood thriller based on the events surrounding the hunt for Osama Bin Laden. What’s cool about this particular collector’s item is that instead of its movie-ready black firing adapter configuration, this particular prop gun has been restored to work with live ammunition.

About two weeks ago at IWA 2023, CZ came to the show with a brand new firearm perfect for not just the European market, but one that I think would do quite well in the American market! The new CZ Scorpion EVO 3 S1 is chambered in 22LR and will come complete with a folding stock, 16″ threaded barrel, and mostly ambidextrous controls.

What we’re talking about today is Project Appleseed. Project Appleseed is a non-profit instructional program with the aim of training the civilian population with basic marksmanship fundamentals through various clinics and events put on throughout the country. Today we’ll explain the origins of the Appleseed Project, and some of the pertinent information surrounding the rules, and practices of participating in a clinic itself.

Last week we departed from our normal rimfire coverage to talk about a slightly related ammunition called Pinfire ammunition. This week we are getting back into more dedicated rimfire stuff with the Tactical Solutions XRT Drop-In 10/22 Trigger. This aftermarket 10/22 trigger pack launched right at the end of 2022 and is a world apart from a lot of the aftermarket triggers I’ve come across. Today we’ll check out its specifications and features, and report on the range experiences I’ve had so far with it to give you an idea of this is the type of trigger you’d want to pick up for your 10/22.

Adjustable gas blocks have been called everything from one of the most essential parts of an AR to being called gimmicks by some. No matter where you stand on the issue, most of you will have no doubt heard about the relatively new RIFLESPEED Tool-Free Military Grade Modular Gas Control system. In recent years, 9mm carbines have been hitting the market in various styles, and the Side Charge, Bear Creek Arsenal BC-9 Carbine, is a unique offering in its own right. A BRD Gun Works LLC upper in 450 Bushmaster was sent to me for review. My best friend urged (hounded) me to make it happen. It, finally, did actually happen and I want to tell you upfront this is one of the best products I have received for review in my four and a half years of reviewing.
