Wilson Combat Introduces the Full WCP365 Pistol

Wilson Combat and SIG’s P365 have been a common combination since the introduction of the Wilson Combat P365 grip module. Now Wilson Combat is taking it a step further and adding new proprietary modifications to bring you new models with Wilson Combat Custom WCP365 pistols. TFB Review: The Single-Action Smith & Wesson Equalizer

The past few years saw an insane number of first-time gun owners. If any of you are reading this, welcome to our community! One of the more popular handguns for n00bs was the Smith & Wesson Shield EZ. It was originally only available in .380 ACP, then 9x19mm. S&W has pushed another evolution of the pistol. Though not an exact sequel, the Equalizer is the Split to the EZ’s Unbreakable, and today it’s the topic of our review.

Wheelgun Wednesday: Taurus 856 TORO Revolver Preview

This week on TFB’s Wheelgun Wednesday, we’ll take a sneak peek at the brand-new Taurus 856 TORO revolver, which is an optics-ready revolver, driven with concealed carry and self-defense in mind. The aptly named “T.O.R.O.” in this case stands for Taurus Optics Ready Option, which was initially launched in 2021 with Taurus’ G3 semi-auto pistol. However, the TORO line has just been expanded to two of their small framed revolvers, the 856 and 605. Taurus was kind enough to lend me a copy of the model 856 TORO, which we’ll take a quick preview of today, with a full review coming in the near future.

TFB Review: Beretta 21A Bobcat Covert .22 Long Rifle

The Beretta Bobcat has been a staple of pocketable 22 Long Rifle pistols for almost 40 years. It originally made its debut back in 1984 as the Model 21A. This was a follow-up to the popular 950 series that had been around since the 1950s but importation was stopped in 1968 for gun law-related reasons. Beretta USA came onto the scene around 1980 and the 950 slowly worked its way to becoming the 21A in the late 1980s after the 22 was already seeing success. This one is a really exciting piece for me. I have always wanted to shoot one of these very elegant pocket pistols and better yet thanks to the threaded barrel on the Covert model, I can feel like a spy while I do it. Let’s dive right into my review of the Beretta 21A Bobcat Covert 22LR!

Concealed Carry Corner: Dangerous Distractions in Our World

Welcome back to another edition of Concealed Carry Corner. Last week, we talked about the variety of ammo choices available when it comes to self-defense. If you missed that article, I will leave a quick link to that article right here for you guys. This week’s topic is a bit different since it’s fairly easy to get distracted and sucked into distractions that ultimately could allow you to be put into difficult situations. With everything available at our fingertips in society, it can be easy to get distracted on your phone rather than paying attention to your surroundings. Let’s take a closer look at dangerous distractions in our world.

Affordable DIY Beretta M9 Thin Grips

When it comes to guns, sometimes, the factory and aftermarket options just don’t quite cut it, whether from an ergonomic or aesthetic standpoint. In the case of one Beretta M9 owner, Ben, the standard-sized grips that were supplied with his Beretta M9 were too large for his liking, and the aftermarket options were over his budget. Thus, he set out to make his own thin grips for his Beretta M9. Let’s take a look at his process and the final result.

DeSantis Gunhide Adapts the #N38 Nemesis for Pistols with Optics

The Nemesis holster has seen a fair amount of service as part of my old daily carry routine and today DeSantis Gunhide announced its latest adaptation now capable of hosting micro-compact pistols with optics. The #N38 Nemesis holster is great for those who like to carry in a jacket pocket but are worried about it slipping around and moving from its original position.

New Radial Delayed Blowback Rifle Conversion Kits from CMMG

CMMG’s Radial Delayed Blowback pistols are some of the most popular options for those looking for a pistol caliber carbine. However, with the recent stirrings in the NFA sphere regarding pistol stabilizing braces, the braced pistol option is quickly falling out of favor. CMMG is attempting to at least salvage part of what you have already by offering up new Radial Delayed Blowback Rifle Conversion Kits in its primary pistol caliber carbine cartridges: .45, 9mm, and 5.7x28mm.

The Rimfire Report: A Neat Glimpse At The 30 Rimfire Cartridge

Hello and welcome back to another Edition of  The Rimfire Report! This ongoing series is all about the rimfire firearm world and its many guns, ammunition choices, and shooting sports. Last time we took a look at one of my 22LR revolvers in The Rimfire Report: J.P. Sauer & Sohn Western Marshal 22LR Review. This week I am at the helm again and filling in for your usual host  Luke C. This time I found myself twiddling my thumbs trying to think of a rimfire gun I or anyone else has not yet talked about on this particular stage. Alas, all that I own has been spent. Luckily, once upon a time I received a bag of some very old ammunition, and deep down inside was some 30 Rimfire!  Let’s dive into the 30 Rimfire cartridge!

TFB Armorer's Bench: Installing New Mauser C96 Parts

Welcome everyone to the  TFB Armorer’s Bench! As mentioned in the little blurb below, this series will focus on a lot of home armorer and gunsmith activities. In this article, I decided to give my Mauser C96 a bit of maintenance and a fresh change with new Mauser C96 parts since it has been getting a lot of attention lately. For the past few weeks, it has been featured fairly heavily as the hero gun in my Curious Relics series over at our sister site AllOutdoor.com. With that comes the price of hands-on wear and tear at the range. By no means do I mistreat my old school firearms but shooting them and working with them, in general, can be sort of “stressful” on them for lack of a better word. One recommendation I have to anyone out there who is interested in owning and shooting older guns is to make sure you buy spare firing pins and extractors if you can without breaking the bank. Then swap those out with the originals and keep the originals on standby. That is what I did and that is what lies below. Let’s dive right into installing new Mauser C96 parts!

[SHOT 2023] The SHOT Show Retro Roundup

One of my favorite stories to write each SHOT is a summary of all things throwback. The Retro Roundup gives me an excuse to snoop around the show looking for anything new in the world of the old. This year’s offerings were so plentiful that I split the article into two parts. This is the non-AR portion. Here are a few of the standouts from SHOT Show 2023.

Concealed Carry Corner: Important Ammo Choices

Welcome back to another edition of Concealed Carry Corner. Last week, I took a look at various pistol types and talked about how reliable those systems are over time. If you missed last week’s article, I’ll leave a link to that article here so jump in there and let me know your thoughts. A reoccurring question I get fairly often is if I buy specific self-defense ammo for every carry gun or if I have a general round I use across the board. It’s an interesting discussion since there are some out there who believe self-defense ammunition isn’t necessary for a carry gun. Let’s take a closer look at the facts when it comes to important ammo choices.

Wheelgun Wednesday: H&R Auto Ejecting Revolver Review

At a local firearm auction last year, I acquired a Harrington & Richardson Auto Ejecting revolver chambered for the .32 S&W cartridge for the lowest winning bid of the day. These top-break revolvers never really caught my eye, but I was willing to scratch that itch, and who knows, maybe even have some fun with it and make some noise. Let’s see how this H&R Auto Ejecting top-break revolver fared on this week’s TFB Wheelgun Wednesday.

In this episode of TFBTV, James Reeves is at Sellier & Bellot ammunition factory to test out their 9×18 Makarov ammo on a true legend of a machine pistol, the APS, also known as “the Stechkin.” The Stechkin automatic pistol or APS (Avtomaticheskiy Pistolet Stechkina, Russian: Автоматический Пистолет Стечкина) is a Soviet select fire machine pistol. It bears the name of its developer, Igor Stechkin. The Stechkin has some cool features up its sleeve, so we were excited to test it out, even if we broke it on the range!

Concealed Carry Corner: Pistol Type Reliability Over Time

Welcome back to another edition of Concealed Carry Corner. Last time, we talked about consumable carry items and when to replace certain items you use daily to carry your firearm. To check out that article, be sure to click on the link here. In the world of carrying a concealed firearm, the market is shifting in strange directions and is even starting to move back into the world of single-action type 2011s and 1911s over something like a striker-fired handgun. With the gradual shift from small micro-style guns to larger framed firearms, it’s important to look at the reliability of certain firearms as time goes on. Let’s take a closer look at pistol type reliability over time.

Wheelgun Wednesday: SHOT 2023 Revolver Roundup

This week on Wheelgun Wednesday, we will give a quick roundup of some of the interesting wheelguns we were able to get hands and eyes on at SHOT 2023.  Keep in mind, SHOT is hectic, but we tried to get our eyes on as many new and interesting revolvers as we could.  We regret to report that not much was new from either Colt, S&W, Chiappa, or Taylor’s & Co. in the wheelgun department (besides the King Cobra Target .22LR being given a rough date of summer 2023), but here are a few revolvers that caught our attention for 2023:

Cabot Guns is known for using the finest and rarest materials found on this planet and even originating beyond it for building their 1911 pistols. [SHOT 2023] ZEV & Magpul's Folding Defense Pistol (FDP) Coming in 2023

Folding guns, a cool concept that we are continually drawn to. SHOT Show saw Magpul and ZEV’s joint venture, the FDP (Folding Defense Pistol) and FDC (Folding Defense Carbine), move closer to reality. During a visit to their booth, the guys at ZEV ran me through the FDP’s features. The FDP will launch in 9x19mm and weighs in at 3 lbs unloaded. The folding pistol is based on a chassis similar to ZEV’s OZ9 (though not the same). It will have an ambidextrous charging handle but the FDP won’t be threaded for a suppressor on launch but that may be something that’s in the pipeline. The carry handle position can be adjusted
