Blue Force Gear has been expanding their Trauma Kit NOW! medical pouch kit line, with six different sizes, each of which will be available in four different level fill options. Brad spoke with TFB about his task of bringing the medical pouches up to speed, which stems from his experience in the medical field, as well as having experience in the tactical field, including a combination of the two. Brad explained that Blue Force Gear is dedicated to military, law enforcement and civilians, while keeping the context around tactics and firearms users.

Meprolight is a division of the SK Group, and a well-known manufacturer and global supplier of electro-optical and optical sights. In this article, we’ll focus on their new self-illuminated backup sights designed for the AR platform. You know, the sights that you must have, but pray you never need? The Mepro FUBS folding back-up sights are self-illuminated, by tritium, front and rear.

Timney Triggers has released a new series of competition handgun triggers called Alpha. First in line in the Timney Alpha series is a new trigger for the Glock Gen 3 and Gen 4 pistols. Timney’s trigger bar and sear are Teflon nickel treated, with a pull weight of three pounds. All stock Glock parts and springs are kept. According to Timney, the break is “crisp”, and the trigger is easy to install with no gunsmithing needed.

A few SHOT Shows back I stumbled upon the DryFireMag and gave it a try at their booth. I liked it so much I went out and bought one for myself.  Back then it was only available for Glock pistols. Well, they now have training mags available for the Springfield XD, S&W M&P and SIG Sauer P320 pistols, with M&P Shield mags coming soon as well.

Lewis Machine & Tool’s Estonian rifle contract has been news for some time, of which TFB has covered, but the LMT Shot Counter technology that was also rolled out with that rifle hasn’t attracted much attention. One reason for the lack of coverage could be the lack of marketability for non-military and police users. However, during TFB’s GunFest 2021 coverage, Joe from LMT went into further discussion about what the Shot Counter is capable of, which is much more than just round counting. Firearm aficionados should be able to appreciate it even if it’s outside of their budget or needs.

The Terrapin X Laser Range Finder (LRF) from Safran Vectronix of Switzerland has been on the market for a while, and they keep adding functions and supporting companies to their ecosystem. The Terrapin X is more than just a standard LRF – with a combination of sensors and connections it becomes a navigational, target spotting and presentation tool. As you range a target, the device measures not only the distance but also the elevation and compass direction. If you connect it to your Smartphone (iOS or Android) via Bluetooth, you can pinpoint the exact position of your targets with the help of the phone’s GPS module. The targets are named Target 1, 2 and so on, but you can rename them if you like, as they appear on the map.

Vertical front grips are controversial in my world, while I do like them and use them (always) on some firearms they are “forbidden” on others. Vortex Optics just announced their new line of tripods for shooting, spotting, bird watching or scouting for game. The new line of tripods has several different price points to meet varied budgets and purposes. There are five tripods for the new line, of which the three lower cost options all share the same maximum load weight of 22 pounds, but vary in their own weights from 2.5 to 4 pounds. The two higher cost tripods weigh slightly more but allow for a 44 and 55 pound maximum load respectively.  The specs and descriptions for each new offering can be seen below.

Magpul Industries came out swinging at TFB’s Gun Fest 2021 with some awesome new products and one of the first ones introduced to us during the new product showcase were the MBUS 3 next-gen polymer backup iron sights. The new sights are sleeker, lighter, and come in at an aggressively competitive price.

Since buying entire guns has gone out of style for the time being most of us have had to find new ways to keep ourselves occupied in our favorite hobby. I’ve been recently taking a bit of time to try new accessories and upgrades on a few of my AR-15 pistols as well as some of my pistol caliber carbines that I use for competitions and Tyrant Designs has been a huge help in this endeavor. Tyrant Designs was kind enough to send me out their new Concept One pistol grip and MOD v2 ForeGrip for testing and review and today I’ll be sharing my results on how these grip upgrades worked out on two of my rigs.

In the world of weapon lights, there are some pretty big names from SureFire to Streamlight. They both offer some great options for both pistol and rifle lights. I am a big fan of both the SureFire X300 line of weapon lights or Streamlight’s TLR-1 HL offerings. Inforce broke into the weapon-mounted light market a few years ago and offered a variety of models like the APL and APLc. The previous generation of Inforce lights was made out of polymer to keep the weapon light down on weight. It was a great option for people who wanted to keep the weight down on their guns while having a decently bright weapon light. Things have changed with the new Wild2 weapon light as this light has an aluminum housing. Let’s dive more into the new Inforce Wild2 weapon light.

Have you ever ordered a gun-related tool or accessory on Amazon only to have some assembly or modification required?  Reading product reviews can be a good source of entertainment in some cases, and cringe-worthy in others, as people give products a bad review for not fitting the intended purpose of the buyer.  In numerous instances, only a slight modification was needed to hone it to their needs, but they just gave up instead.  If you’ve ever seen a “watch people die inside” video, such product reviews are like a text version of that, let’s explore.

There are many suppressed rifles with permanently attached silencers on the market, but what exactly is an integrally suppressed rifle (ISR). When I think integrally suppressed, I think of the suppression system built directly into the barrel. A good example of this is the Curtis Tactical 9mm bolt gun that Pete reviewed for TFB’s Silencer Saturday. Let’s redefine the ISR in a way that still allows the suppressor to be used on other platforms.

A new uniform item is coming to the US army – the Combat Cloth Face Covering (CCFC) or, in civilian terms, a camouflage face mask. More than a year on since the  Coronavirus swept the globe the US Army has finally moved to standardise a general issue mask. Starting next year, every new soldier can expect to receive a pair of masks, the army announced on Wednesday.

Although Nikon has recently stepped out of the arena of riflescopes, they are still hard at work developing new additions to their other sporting optics. Nikon just announced the introduction of their Laser 50 and Laser 30 rangefinders. The new Laser 50 boasts an operational range of out to 2,000 yards with a 0.3 second read back time on measurements with the Laser 30 being a slightly less capable version measuring out to 1,600 yards.

Knowing the speed of your bullet is an important factor in hitting distant targets. If you know the ballistic coefficient (BC), the speed of your bullet and combine it with the environment you’re shooting in (i.e. wind, pressure and temperature) you’ve got a lot of knowledge to enter into your ballistic app. And accurate knowledge is power in long range shooting. I wonder how many of our readers own a Ruger 10/22 and if anyone kept it stock? At SHOT Show Kinetic Research Group (KRG) introduced a KRG Bravo chassis for the Ruger 10/22. With over 7 million rifles made, and more to come, it’s a pretty safe bet to make a chassis for that rifle.

We can all agree that sometimes the “Gucci Glock” modifications go much further than they need to. However, one upgrade is considered almost mandatory among many Glock shooters.
