Cryptic Coatings has just announced the release of its new 9mm bolt specifically designed for use with Glock and Colt style magazines. In addition to the magazine compatibility, the bolt is also said to be compatible with “drop-in” style mag well adapters.

Sheriff Tom Ridnour of the Kit Carson Country, Colorado Sheriff’s office has been hard at work attempting to equip his officers with Viridian FACT Duty weapon-mounted cameras making them the first Colorado Agency to do so. The Viridian weapon-mounted cameras made their debut at SHOT Show 2017 and have slowly been making their way into various law enforcement agencies.

Česká Zbrojovka Group have announced that they are joining forces with Håkan Spuhr Spuhr i Dalby AB through this strategic investment by acquiring a minority stake in the company. Spuhr was founded in 2007 by Håkan Spuhr, and has since worked with law enforcement and armed forces around the world, creating a range of innovative optic and accessory mounting accessories – many of which we have covered here at TFB.

MK Machining has found a way for shooters to take out their frustrations on the corona virus with COVID-19 shaped steel targets.  The COVID-19 steel targets are made from sourced AR500 steel with a 12 inch diameter and are 3/8 inches thick.  The targets also come with a hole drilled at high-center for mounting to stands or as a swinging target.  The dimensions were specifically made to fit into a flat rate shipping box, which can fit four COVID-19 shaped targets.

Here we are again, another “not a firearm”, in the form of a tomahawk/axe/hatchet. While last time we saw a fairly traditionally styled model, here we introduce a very unique axe/kukri hybrid: the Kukrax. An edged tool marrying the peculiar angle of the Nepalese khukuri with the familiar axe blade.

Clawgear is a European company that specializes in aftermarket military equipment upgrades for various rifles. The Clawgear AUG A3 Extended top rail is an aluminum extended rail segment that gives the user more rail space for the sparsely railed AUG A3.

For the majority of concealed carriers, carrying in a vehicle is a daily event. Whether that’s going to work or running an errand, we often travel a ton with a gun outside. Over the last few weeks, the TFB crew has discussed a number of times what their End of the World gun would be if they had to just pick one. I was rather torn since I typically carry a 10.5 AR pistol in my truck on a daily basis. The more I thought about it, there’s no way I would be stuck with a really short 5.56 barrel on my end of the world gun. Pete started this series and encouraged everyone to write their perfect gun and for the most part, I agree with Pete’s choices. XS Sights have just announced that they’re now offering their Big Dot Night Sights system for the Smith & Wesson M&P 9 Shield EZ and for Heckler & Koch’s P7 pistol lineup.  XS Sights’ Big Dot pistol iron sights have been around for some time now and incorporate a large, highly visible dot front sight that encircles a tritium insert, backed up by a shallow V-notch rear sight with a single tritium insert at the bottom of the notch.  The brightly colored ring on the front sight is also engineered to glow in the dark for in-between light and dark settings.

Anarchy Outdoors has introduced bolt action rifle adjustable bolt handles that allow tuning their angle to perfectly fit any particular shooter. This product is currently available for  Tikka T1X and Bergara B14 Rimfire bolt-action rifles. Handles for other rifles are in works.

Set triggers are really handy gadgets that allow having a standard and extremely light trigger pull in the same trigger mechanism. Normally, switching to the light pull mode requires pushing the trigger shoe forward or pulling the separate, second trigger first. The set trigger concept itself is nothing new and has been successfully used by hunters all around the world. However, these triggers are pretty much exclusively seen in classic hunting guns such as bolt action rifles. Well, now there is an option for ARs. JARD Inc has designed an AR-15 set trigger which they claim to be the first such trigger for AR-pattern rifles.

If you’re spotting for someone it isn’t sufficient to say “you’re a little to the left, maybe a bit high… Perhaps.” Spot like a pro and say “you’re 0,6 Mils to the left and 0,3 Mils high“, so that the shooter can correct the next shot when he sends it. The chances of a next-shot hit will increase for sure. In order to do this, the new Vortex Ranging Reticle Eyepiece is a good start, but you also need an 85mm Viper HD Spotting Scope.
