Aside from the SNES and the custom made cartridge, the heart of the system is the laser M16 M.A.C.S. rifles. In my previous post, I pointed out that these were used by the US Military and very few have survived to end up in private citizen’s hands. This makes them very rare and super desirable to collectors. There is not a lot of good information about the training rifles. What little I found often references the Jäger AP74, a .22LR rifle that sort of looks like an M16.

Just this year, Midwest Industries launched a new type of M-LOK red dot sight mount that is compatible with the rails they make for Marlin lever-action rifles and Ruger’s PC Carbine.  The optic mount is made to attach to the rail via M-LOK slots and eliminates the extra space between the optic and barrel without having to use a Picatinny rail section.  By reducing the height of the red dot sight, it appears to allow for a better cheek weld with rifles that use traditional style stocks.  Let’s look at the specifications from Midwest Industries:

Leupold has recently launched its Performance Eyewear line of glasses. As a designer and manufacturer of high-quality optics, this is a bit of a departure from their normal product line up. Ranger Point Precision has released a new aluminum M-LOK handguard for Marlin lever-action rifles. If you want to get into the currently popular game of modernized lever-action rifles and make your good ol’ Marlin lever gun more suitable for accessorizing, the RPP Marlin M-LOK handguard should be a great accessory to use in such a project. Let’s take a closer look at the design and features of this handguard.

Probably best known in the US for their pistol night sights, Israel-based Meprolight makes a variety of aiming solutions for a spectrum of firearms. In addition to their brightly-colored three-dot handgun sights, they also produce various long-gun optics, a line of thermals, and even a self-illuminated reflex sight for 40mm grenade launchers. Now with a June 19th press release, Meprolight is adding a newcomer to their pistol sight collection: the MEPRO Adjustable Day/Night Sights. The press release reads as follows.

Strike Industries recently added another firearm accessory to its wide list of products, with this latest giving Glock owners, or Glock aftermarket support owners the ability to better swap slides and frames between different generations.  Strike Industries’ goal with the Slide Adapter Plate was to allow a better fit between a Gen 3 slide on a Gen 4 frame.  They said that the Slide Adapter Plate will eliminate the gap between the Gen 4 Glock’s dust cover and the recoil spring guide rod tab of the Gen 3 slides.  While that first goal is purely cosmetic, Strike Industries also states that it should reduce the added flex of conjoined generation parts during firing. Everybody remembers their first car, first house, first gun, and many other “first” things. I also happen to remember my first set of electronic hearing protection – Sordin Supreme Basic that I bought nine years ago, in May of 2011, and there are two reasons for that.

The market for chassis systems keeps on growing. I can understand why, as I can’t remember the last time I saw an un-modified rifle at a Precision Rifle Competition. If you own a Remington 700, a Savage or a Tikka T3 the new Generation of the TAC21 chassis from MDT may be of interest.

After years of waiting, the JP Rifles M-LOK Series Slim Profile Hand Guards are finally here! The models are available in 9.25″, 12.5″ and 15.5″ overall length options. The handguards are machined from 6061-T6 aluminum and offer full M-LOK accessory compatibility in a slim tube design.

There are several reasons why you may need to cover the metal stock of your rifle. One of them is not to have bare metal rubbing against your cheek when shooting the gun, especially in long shooting sessions. For me, the primary reason is that metals are materials with high thermal conductivity. If you think you may find yourself in a situation where you’ll have to use a metal stock in an extremely cold or hot environment, then it’s a good idea to cover the metal with some sort of insulating material because a cheek weld on a metal stock in these extreme temperatures is not the best experience.

Zaffiri Precision, a company specialized in producing handgun slides and barrels, has recently introduced a new slide for the SIG Sauer P365 pistol. As stated on the company’s website, their slides are designed with tight tolerances to increase accuracy and performance.

Gray Ops CNC are very busy with the R&D to bring new interesting products and concepts to the (long range) shooting community. TFB recently wrote about the Spuhr Ring Turret Guards from them, and it’s now time to introduce the Mini Plate PRO.

Night Fision has announced the release of new handgun night sights designed in collaboration with the renowned firearms instructor Chris Costa and named after his company, Costa Ludus. The Night Fision Costa Ludus sights are designed for Glock pistols and are compatible with the following models: 17, 17L, 19, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, 37, 38, 39.

If you haven’t discovered the Arca Swiss Rail system yet, you should take a serious look at it. For long-range shooters, there are several advantages with the Arca rail system, which is one of the reasons why you have seen and will see more articles here on TFB about it.

Wilson Combat has announced the availability of a Bullet Proof series product – an adjustable gas block for AR-15 and AR-10 pattern rifles. Adjustable gas blocks are getting more and more popular because they are really handy tools for fine tuning your firearm to any particular load and, of course, for adjusting the gas system  for use with suppressors.

CMMG RipStock system allows quickly deploying the collapsed AR-15 stock to a preset length in a matter of just pulling the stock back, without a need to press a lever or button to unlock it first. The core of the RipStock system is the Fastback Receiver Extension that thanks to the shape of the stock lock pin recesses allows this ratcheting function. So the Fastback Receiver Extension is not a new product per se. However, up until now, it has been available as part of CMMG firearms or in a  kit along with a stock, castle nut, endplate, buffer and buffer spring. Well, now you can buy the Fastback Receiver Extension separately and use it with the stock of your choice.

Streamlight have introduced their new and improved TL-Racker shotgun forend weapon lights. The TL-Racker boasts a 1,000 lumen brightness, a sleek design available in black and orange, ambidextrous switches and it’s mountable to the Mossberg 500 and 590 series as well as the Remington 870.
