POTD: Reducing Noise Pollution – Suppressed M27 Infantry Automatic Rifle

If TFB’s Photo Of The Day came with sound you couldn’t hear this post. The subject today is suppressed M27 Infantry Automatic Rifles. Above you see U.S. Marine Corps Cpl. Antonio Keifner, a rifleman with Bravo Company, 3rd Littoral Combat Team, 3rd Marine Littoral Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, as he fires a suppressed M27 Infantry Automatic Rifle during a range acoustic test at Pu’uloa Range Training Facility, Marine Corps Base Hawaii. The MCBH’s Safety Department and PRTF personnel were there to conduct an acoustic test, to record and determine the effectiveness of suppressed weapons at reducing noise pollution exiting PRTF.

The New SOCOM RC3 – SureFire's First Low Back Pressure Suppressor

After what seems like an eternity, SureFire has finally released its first-ever low back pressure suppressor – the new SOCOM RC3. Much like the previous two suppressors in the SOCOM line, the new RC3 boasts industry-leading durability, and near identical specifications and features as the RC2 but with the added bonus of 60% less back pressure than the RC2 making it more suitable for shooting indoors, as well as reducing the overall amount of gas and toxins being directed back at the shooter. SureFire brought out a few media outlets including TFB to Ridgeline Defense in New Hampshire at an event they dubbed the RC3 Rally to get us all a chance to run the RC3 in various shooting situations to showcase its capabilities and durability. Judge Blocks ATF From Treating Forced Reset Triggers As Machine Guns

We have the French company MIM&Tech and German GunWorks to thank for today’s Photo Of The Day. We all share the love for the Heckler & Koch MP5 SD I assume, and here it got a coat of MIM&TECH Anti-IR Temporary spray paint (TCC). Texas-based Radical Defense have announced their General Purpose Suppressor (GPS). The 3D-printed can is full-auto rated and weighs in at 23.5oz. The can is designed for calibres ranging from 7.62 to 8.6mm and is made from Haynes 282, a nickel-based alloy. MSRP on the GPS is $1499.

B&T USA Announces Commercial Release of its APC9K SD2 US Army Submission

B&T USA have announced a limited run of APC9K SD2, a scalably suppressed APC9K which was offered to the US Army’s Sub Compact Weapon program. Back in April 2019, B&T won the new Sub Compact Weapon contract in competition with five other companies. The conventional APC9K was selected and B&T were awarded an initial order for 350 guns. Since then the USAF has also procured a number of the SCWs.
