You just bought a Glock, and let’s face it, those plastic factory Glock sights are flat out embarrassing. Plastic sights on a metal slide just don’t make a whole lot of sense, and they are definitely nothing to write home about. When it comes time to upgrade those sights there are two things you may want to consider: Suppressors and Red Dot Sights (RDS).

The “Edelweiss Raid 2019” is an international, military special competition for mountain fighters from 12 nations. The competition teams come from Austria, Germany, France, Bulgaria, Italy, Montenegro, Poland, Russia, Romania, Slovenia, Spain and the USA.

According to this report from the French Armed Forces, they seem very happy with their new Heckler & Koch HK416Fs in the deserts of Sahel. They have used the HK416 out to 600 meters, with good results.

This week we continue our dive into the Advanced Armament Corp (AAC) TI-RAID 30 and a bit of subsonic 300 blackout decibel metering. That’s 300 AAC Blackout to you. We’ve got both the direct thread and QD TI-RAID 30’s in house and they got to play on both the shortest 300BLK host I have in the armory (Sig Sauer MCX Rattler) as well as they longest (16” Remington Model Seven KUIU). According to the local newspaper in Varnamo, Sweden, the Police held a press conference on the shootings and gang war there. The small town only populates about 20 000 people.

Just last month Fresno Police Department triumphantly seized a prohibited firearm off the deadly streets of Fresno. It was a Kel-Tec Sub2000 with what looks like a DIY suppressor.

Now that the fog of war has cleared off of the SHOT Show floor, we can get back into the business of shooting and testing silencers. As I mentioned a few weeks ago, we have YHM, Energetic Armament, Allen Engineering (AEM2,3,4) and now CZ USA on deck for shooting and metering. That’s at lease a full month’s worth of reviews. But today we start with a look at the AAC TI-RAID 30: a centerfire rifle suppressor that can be disassembled without the use of tools. Because my 90T QD muzzle attachment is still in the mail, we are going to need to carry the TI-RAID review across two parts. The good news is that we have both the QD and direct thread versions available for testing right here on Silencer Saturday.

University of Central Florida police arrested a student on Tuesday the 29th for possessing three Drop-In Auto Sears, more commonly known by their acronym of DIAS. Police had received an anonymous tip that the student, Max Bennett Chambers, was in possession of an unregistered machinegun.

It was probably halfway through the second magazine that the new gun butterflies started to wear off.  The jarring over gassed recoil, combined with the massive concussion that comes with having a short 12.5in barrel, was enough to make me want to put the gun back in the bag and go home.  For the past three years I’d been shooting almost all of my rifles suppressed. Combine this with a cramped indoor range and shooting this rifle was borderline intolerable. I’d also gone a step further on my AR pattern rifles and added adjustable gas carriers.  All of that customization lead to easy to shoot suppressed rifles. Something I was desperately missing.

As TFB reported last year, Norway has been looking to procure up to 1,300 M2 Heavy Machine Guns (HMGs), including tools and spares for a seven-year contract.
