Primary Arms and Strike Industries have partnered up to launch a series of new rifles – the Sentinel and Sentinel Elite. The new Sentinel rifles (pistols coming soon) are chambered in .223 Wylde and are priced between $749.99 and $1149.99 (MSRP).

“World’s lightest production AR-10’s” – that’s what a company called Roam claims when describing their new R-10 rifles. The lightest of Roam R-10 line of rifles is the R-10 Red River Ultralight which being chambered in .308 Win and having a 16″ pencil barrel, weighs in at 5.73 lbs. These rifles were first introduced at SHOT Show 2020, and they are now available for preorder.

The US Department of Defense has announced that Colt’s Manufacturing and FN America have been selected to compete for Foreign Military Sales (FMS) contracts worth up to $383,311,941 to produce M16A4 rifles for US allied nations including Afghanistan, Iraq, Lebanon and Nepal. The companies will bid for each of the orders.

For the majority of concealed carriers, carrying in a vehicle is a daily event. Whether that’s going to work or running an errand, we often travel a ton with a gun outside. We travel constantly and everyone has different practices for carrying a gun, but there’s a number of things people do that may not be the best practice whether it comes down to traveling long distances and knowing a state’s gun laws or keeping your gun secure as you drive. Over the last few weeks, the TFB crew has discussed a number of times what their End of the World gun would be if they had to just pick one. I was rather torn since I typically carry a 10.5 AR pistol in my truck on a daily basis. The more I thought about it, there’s no way I would be stuck with a really short 5.56 barrel on my end of the world gun. Pete started this series and encouraged everyone to write their perfect gun and for the most part, I agree with Pete’s choices. The main difference between Pete’s choice and mine is the fact I live in the rather flat areas of Michigan.

The US Air Force Gunsmith Shop, part of the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center’s Armament Directorate, at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas recently completed delivery of the new GAU-5A survival rifle for aircrews. TFBB first reported that the USAF had developed a new survival rifle for pilots and aircrews forced to eject over hostile territory back in June 2018. We got our first proper look at the new rifle in May 2019, when the new Aircrew Self Defense Weapons (ASDW) was seen in the hands of F-22 Raptor pilots at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson in Alaska.

Set triggers are really handy gadgets that allow having a standard and extremely light trigger pull in the same trigger mechanism. Normally, switching to the light pull mode requires pushing the trigger shoe forward or pulling the separate, second trigger first. The set trigger concept itself is nothing new and has been successfully used by hunters all around the world. However, these triggers are pretty much exclusively seen in classic hunting guns such as bolt action rifles. Well, now there is an option for ARs. JARD Inc has designed an AR-15 set trigger which they claim to be the first such trigger for AR-pattern rifles.

Fairly recently, I was made aware of some rumors circulating on various forums and boards. This rumor suggests Nevada has somehow declared all AR-15s to be machineguns. Sounds a bit too ridiculous to be true, doesn’t it? After much hunting and scouring of the internet (five minutes of effort, thereabouts), I came across a Court Order that seemed to be the source of so much confusion. You can read it for yourself here if you would like, but I’ll cover the salient points. If you just want the quick summary, no, Nevada did not declare all AR-15s machineguns. Not even close.

Seekins Precision has announced a new family of AR-15 pattern firearms called SP15. This is a more budget-friendly line of Seekins guns which currently consists of a rifle (SP15), pistol (SP15 P), and another rifle more suitable for long range shooting (SP15 DMR).

I have never been a prepper. My modest amount of guns and gear have mostly centered around my passion for suppressors, personal defense weapons, concealed carry pistols and useful accessories. Like many of you I have bins full of gun related items that looked great on paper, but in practice fell short of actually being useful. To top it off, I’ve chuckled at the Boogaloo memes that have worked their way through social media, believing that it was mostly fantasy, stemming from basement dwellers reading books like The Stand and The Road. But here we are, the entire world changing before us, with a great deal of uncertainty in the weeks and months ahead, and I thought that it might be important to lay out some SHTF guns and gear. Not to fan the flames of panic, but in a calming, therapeutic, prepping sort of way.

CMMG continues on the 5.7×28 revival path.  Last year, we reviewed CMMG’s FiveSeven magazine compatible 5.7×28 Banshee.  Further reinforcing the 5.7×28 revival is CMMG’s new Mk57 Upper Conversion kit for standard AR lowers.  Of most import is the fact that CMMG developed a 40 round 5.7×28 magazine to ship with the Mk57 that fits into one’s AR15 lower without any modification.

Hot on the heels of the introduction of their LAR-15Ms chambered in .350 Legend, Rock River Arms have announced another addition to their multi-calibre LAR-15M range, with a new hunting AR, chambered in .450 Bushmaster – describing it as a ‘Modern Straight Wall Hunting Rifle’.

As I sit here in my apartment, surrounded by toilet paper, ramen, and enough alcohol to kill a lesser man, I reflect on what’s truly important in life. Seekins Precision has introduced the second  Pro Comp AR-15 stock. As the first model, Seekins 10X, the new 10X-Ray is also a fixed stock. The main difference between the two is the skeletonized design of the new one. Other than that, these stocks have similar geometry as shown in the below-embedded image.

Nowadays, if a country doesn’t have domestic production of AR-15 pattern rifles, then it either has very restrictive firearms ownership and manufacturing licensing legislation or just a very small and immature arms industry. With the modern CNC machinery and outsourcing options, the AR-15 is relatively easy to produce and/or assemble. This weapon system is very attractive both to manufacturers and customers in that it’s a modular firearm allowing to easily change configurations and calibers, it has the largest aftermarket support and in general, it’s just a great lightweight and accurate design. It seems like the AR-15 must have almost guaranteed success in the civilian market of any country.
