The Istanbul based ATA Arms brought out their 40x46mm BA40 standalone and UBGL grenade launcher to the show in Indo Defence 2018 this year. The launcher is the first such design from ATA Arms, which actually won a major contract this year for 8,000 launchers from the Turkish Land Forces. Another Turkish company MERTSAV completed a design that appears to have been for the launcher competition as well, known as the TAR-40.

Strike Industries is back with another new product, this time it’s for AR pistols. Their new ergonomic polymer AR Pistol Stabilizer is smooth and snag-free and weighs in at a svelte 5.3 ounces. It features ambidextrous QD points and can fit pistol buffer tubes up to 1.25 inches in diameter, such as the Strike Industries AR Pistol Buffer Tubes. You can also throw on a 15 or 20 Degree Viper Enhanced Pistol Grip too while you’re at it to keep with the Strike Industries themed build. The brace also includes a standard fixed sling loop as well.

At Indo Defense 2018 this year we at TFB were able to get a hands-on examination of MKE’s KNT-76 Designated Marksman Rifle. The rifle is an upgraded MPT-76 service rifle that has a number of additional design features to increase its accuracy and precision as a squad level DMR rifle. Currently, there aren’t any in service with the Turkish Land Forces, but this is because the rifle hasn’t entered circulation yet. In addition, it appears that only MKE is producing the KNT-76, unlike the MPT-76 which is manufactured by three different Turkish arms companies; MKE, Kales, and Sarsilmaz. However, there have been modified MPT-76s that are in service with Turkish Land Forces, but these are armory level modifications.

Battle Arms Development has first introduced the prototype of RACK ambidextrous AR-15 charging handle at SHOT Show 2018. Recently, they released more information about this charging handle and announced that it is now available for preorder.

Magpul PMAGs designed for the 6.8mm Remington SPC cartridge were developed in partnership with LWRCI. These magazines are larger than the standard GI mags and so far they were only compatible with the LWRCI Six8 series of rifles which receivers were built around these magazines. Apparently, now there is another option on the market – Sulzer Firearms MK1-SPC AR-15 receiver set.

Deals of the Week number 3, 9mm edition.

Argentine authorities have just busted what appeared to be a large-scale scheme of illegally importing and exporting firearms. The recent (November 3) action primarily involved the local GNA – Gendarmeria Nacional Argentina (the nationwide, military-organized security agency), while the PFA – Policia Federal Argentina and the DGA – Dirección General de Aduanas (the customs agency) also participated. Significantly, initial intelligence was reportedly provided by HIS (Homeland Security Institute), the investigative arm of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

In a video posted on the Popular Front Instagram page, a man completely disabled from the neck down is seen shooting an AR15-patterned rifle from a mobile rest. Patrick Bronte was disabled when he was 16 years old in a tragic accident but has continued his involvement in the shooting sports by improvising, adapting, and overcoming. In the video Patrick is seen sitting in his wheelchair outside of his disability-enabled van at the range. His rifle is mounted in a rest that is actually connected to what appears to be the chassis of his wheelchair.

Strike Industries’ new Viper Enhanced Pistol Grip is an AR-15 grip that is available in three different grip angle options – 15°, 20°, and 25°. The 25-degree version has a grip angle similar to the A2 grip and other versions are closer to being vertical.

Blue Rock ARmour is a startup company that has designed an AR-15 pistol grip and foregrip system called Grip Armour. The prototypes of this product have already been 3D printed and tested. The company plans to start the manufacturing in Spring 2019 and the start of shipping is scheduled in Summer 2019.

Here we go again, my friends. Illegal firearms keep on falling to police hands in this neck of the world, and, as you may guess, these are likely to represent only a fraction of those which are actually in use by criminals. The purpose of articles like this is to give you an idea of what LE agencies here have to deal with regularly on a nationwide basis, not to mention what law-abiding citizens (generally unarmed, due to legal restrictions) may eventually encounter against them in the country’s streets.

ADAR is one of the relatively new Russian firearm brands. We’ve earlier reported about the AR-15 and new straight pull rifle made by this company. During the Arms & Hunting 2018 exhibition, we had a chance to take a closer look at these guns and talk to company officials.

Although the L1A1 SLR (FN FAL) service rifle served the Australian “Digger” faithfully for an extremely long period of time, infantrymen in the Vietnam War realized that the rifle could be “tweaked” to fit the combat that the soldiers had to fight in day after day. Undergoing field modifications that would be against regulations anywhere in the world, the troops did it anyways because it fit a necessary field requirement. 

Although rebel groups and insurgents are usually focused more on small arms themselves instead of the accessories that can be attached to them, we are continuing to see the diversification of these after-market accessories throughout the world as the firearms themselves become more modular than ever before. The fighting in Syria for example as brought us a myriad of examples of both real and counterfeit parts that adorn the handguards and stocks of numerous small arms in use by rebels and conventional forces fighting them alike. Possibly the most hilarious of these examples is where actual Iraqi soldiers were attaching Mad Bull Airsoft grenade launchers to the 6 o’clock position of their very real carbines.

For people who live in restricted states, you have very limited options to continue to keep and bear arms. Moving is not a realistic option for most, no matter how many times people in free states say to do so. So what options are there? Register or go featureless. Dan, of Arms Room California, noticed the fin grips out on the market and came up with his own version, the Leviathan Grip.

About a month ago, Christopher Bartocci of Small Arms Solutions, posted on his website an AR-15 rifle that he was going to sell (already sold out). When I visited the page, I was really intrigued by the description of the rifle. Chris wrote: “It has hand selected components to make a reliable combat rifle. This build is what I consider a combat reliable, well balanced, accurate and durable battle rifle.“. I was curious, what is THE build that the renown AR-15 expert considers the best? I immediately contacted Chris to find out the details concerning this build.

I learned about this products while watching the latest TGC News video. In a nutshell, this is a spring loaded rifle sling (similar to a seat belt) stored inside an AR-15 stock. This new accessory is called SlingStock and it is made by a company called WMD Guns. So far, it was only demonstrated to the Law Enforcement officers and the commercial release is planned to be at SHOT Show 2019. Let’s watch the demo video released by MDW Guns.

The New Zealand Herald has reported that the 9,040 LMT 5.56x45mm MARS-L rifles purchased by the New Zealand Defense Force have suffered critical parts breakage in certain components of the rifles, specifically the firing pins, bolt carriers and inside the trigger mechanism (the specific part is not mentioned in the article). According to the article, issues came about with a number of rifles that were seeing constant use in training. After an initial assessment and following warranty agreements, LMT has replaced the parts in question on every rifle that was bought by the NZDF in addition to updating the inspection protocols under which the rifles have been adopted.

Colt have been awarded to a contract worth nearly $60 million to produce M4 carbines for America’s allies. Back in July we reported that Colt, along with FN, Remington and Daniel Defense, had been selected to produce M4 carbines for Foreign Military Sales. Remington is believed to have been the first to have been awarded a Foreign Military Sales contract for production as a result of the Department of Defense’s downselection.

Wooden handguards fitted for an M16/AR15-patterned rifle are nothing new in the United States among the boutique custom build community. Some folks prefer the older, more nostalgic look of the solid wood grips that used to be so common on firearms of all types prior to the switch to polymer within small arms of all types throughout the world.
