In a market flooded with attachments and accessories for ARs, it’s hard to find pieces that make a difference. For years I was using Bravo Company’s KAG grip and overall it’s great value for the money. For $20, you get a fairly tough hand stop for your AR that can handle a fair amount of punishment without any issues. I was checking out a video online and saw an updated version of Dan Brokos’s hand stop and ultimately decided to order one. Over the last 6 months, there has been an explosion in new gun owners and people who decided to start carrying a concealed firearm. As a result, the amount of variety and stock of handguns in gun stores are limited and down from where they were before the lockdown. With the increased numbers of new handgun owners around, there’s been an increase in weapon accessories as well. There are plenty of people asking what they should put on their carry guns and what the best accessories are for them. Let’s dive into different weapon accessories and what are the best options for your specific needs.

What with ammo prices the way they are, a topic that I’m sure is on everyone’s mind is how do you practice shooting without having to spend say, 50 cents per round for every round of 9mm that leaves your barrel? The standard answer has always been “dry fire”. Dry firing is great advice, but it doesn’t provide the level of feedback necessary to remain proficient. Nothing can replace actually shooting your guns, but you want to close that gap as far as possible, right? Enter the laser training cartridge. This nifty little gadget helps to fill some (but not all) of the gap between dry fire training and practical shooting.

An M9 bayonet is commonly an unthought-of tool to most shooters without prior military service.  While bayonets have been used since the 17th century, in today’s world, it’s considered to be an ancillary weapon or a weapon of last resort.  As a result, a bayonet lug can often go unnoticed by gun buyers who often see it as just part of a front sight base. Common M9 bayonets are nothing extraordinary, and as such are often overlooked.  For me, that idea started to change when late last year I stumbled upon a pair of rare M9 pattern bayonets.  My interest piqued, an idea started to take hold.

Savior Equipment makes some really nice rifle cases. I have one of their 42″ double rifle cases and it is my primary rifle case for transporting rifles to the range. RMA Defense has recently announced their new level III+ rifle armor specifically cut for women, which they plan on making available next month.  Women in the military, law enforcement, security, and civilians that just want some extra protection against rifle calibers have had some difficulties using plate armor designed for men.  RMA Defense have developed four different sizes to accommodate various body shapes, which range from small to extra large. Last week, I talked about the importance of one-handed shooting and practicing with both your support and dominant hand. There were a few great debates in the comment section and I loved how you guys digested that. I went to the range early Saturday morning with three close friends who are all experienced shooters and did one-handed drills. We added time and a bit of physical exertion into the mix and some strange things started to happen.

Throughout my testing of the Buy vs Build 1911 series, I have come to realize there are various levels of quality 1911 magazines. I treat my 1911 magazines like modern polymer magazines and will let them drop freely onto the concrete while jamming a fresh mag in and keeping the lead onslaught continuous for the paper target bad guys.

When packing for the range, it can oftentimes become a real pain trying to fit all your gear into one or two bags when you have to take out multiple guns for long term testing without packing everything but the kitchen sink. When we have to carry for a long period of time, it’s sometimes fairly difficult to be comfortable after 8-10 hours of constant carrying. After a few hours of driving, it can sometimes cause discomfort or hot spots on your body. When this happens, oftentimes people will immediately jump to the type of pants you’re wearing or blame it on the holster after thinking of it. Both of these are possible to cause issues with sitting comfortably or wearing it all day, but the vast majority is not due to a Kydex or leather holster. The real culprit is typically the belt you’re carrying with, and it’s not always the easiest piece of gear to identify as an issue but let’s dive into the good and bad of carry belts.

Since late 2017 a group of secessionists in Cameroon’s former British mandate located in the southwest have been fighting under the banner of a self-declared state named the Federal Republic of Ambazonia or Amber Land. Bordering Nigeria to the northwest and the majority French-speaking Cameroon Republic to the east, Ambazonia takes its name from Ambas Bay, the local name for the mouth of the Wouri River where in 1858 English was established as a permanent language. A peaceful movement for independence had been growing for decades which after widespread several strikes and protests culminated in the declaration of an independent Republic and armed struggle in November 2017. Ambazonia even have their own cryptocurrency, the AmberCoin.
