MDT Releases 6mm BR Specific Magazines

Last year was the year of the 6mm BR (and its offspring; BRA, BRX, Dasher, etc) in both the PRS and NRL.  A survey conducted by Cal Zant with the Precision Rifle Blog showed 48% of shooters were using a BR in some form.  This is a swing that has been a few years in the making. Initially, when practical precision rifle shooting was becoming popular, .308 Winchester ruled the roost.  It was what military snipers had been using for decades, so how could you go wrong with that?  A few guys who understood external ballistics would venture out and shoot 7-08 Remington, .260 Remington, .243 Winchester and various wildcats in those bore sizes instead of the .308 because of their superior Ballistic Coefficient (BC) and reduced recoil.  As the sport progressed 6mm and 6.5mm bore sizes became the norm with Creedmoors and the x47 Lapua variants holding the lions share. Now for the same reasons 6mm and 6.5mm beat out the .308, the 6mm BR is coming into its own.

Attorney General of California Xavier Becerra filed an ex parte order before the court. In it, he requested that Judge Benitez stay his prior judgment pending an appeal to the 9th Circuit. NEW: AR Magazine from SureFeed with Textured Grip

Even with all the advances in polymer materials and design over the last decade or so, half of my magazine stash is of the aluminum variety. While both types have their positives and negatives, most AR15 shooters sometimes to forget that magazines are disposable items. Of course longevity and reliability tests are an important part of the weapon’s ammunition feeding system, but at some point, worn our components should be replaced.

[SHOT 2018] IC13's INVRT Bandoleer Updated

I ran into the owner and designed at IC13, Josh Sprecher while on the show floor. Due to some technical issues, I wasn’t able to get actual photographs of the MOLLE bandoleer that Josh has come up with, and that we covered in earlier TFB articles. However, I was able to get my hands on the new 2018 products, which included a new fabric design, a different color, a “Rapid-Strap” that uses velcro to secure it to the belt, and can thus be quickly ripped off in case of an emergency.

Medieval Meat Hammer Glock Base Plate

Remember our Top 5 Dumb Gun Products video from a few months back? Well here’s a worthy candidate for that list. Just kidding, I bet these things have an actual real world application other than tenderizing meat for chicken fried steak or something. The Meat Hammer from Medieval Spinners, as in fidget spinners those things all the kids are playing with these days, replaces the factory Glock magazine base plates. According to Medieval Spinners they’re “spiked for a non-lethal deterrent”.

Discontinued Browning BDA Gets New Restriction-State Friendly Magazine from Mec-Gar

Typically, once a platform is discontinued by its manufacturer, the aftermarket slowly folds. Few new products are released (unless the platform is alive through other companies) so it comes as a surprise that Mec-Gar, a manufacturer of fine firearms magazines, has announced the release of new Browning BDA magazines with a 10-round maximum capacity.
