World's First Implant-Activated Smart Gun

Amal Graafstra has been biohacking since 2000. For those not familiar with biohacking, it is the implantation of a device to interact with technology. The basic ones I have heard of are magnets embedded in finger tips. Other examples involved injecting a small RFID into your skin. That is what Amal has done here. His company, Dangerous Things, sells self inejctable RFIDs. It is considered body augmentation. Coupled with the right technology you can unlock the door to your house with just a wave of your hand.

Washington County Tactical Range: MACHINE GUNS!!

Washington County Tactical Range is located in Southwest Pennsylvania. They are just over 40 miles south west of Pittsburgh, near the West Virginia/Pennsylvania border.  I discovered them through a Facebook group: TGTC – The Shooter’s Group. TGTC (The Green Tips Connection) had a get together shoot/mini contest at the Washington County Tactical Range back in April which I attended.

POTD: Where SCARs Go To Die

Found this photo posted with no context. It is speculated that these are demilled SCARs used by the military. You can see SCAR17 20 rd magazines and barrels with bottom rails. In the photo you can also make out AAC SCAR suppressors. There are a bunch of FNH ECP Flash Hiders. Those go for about $80 online and are somewhat hard to find as the only come on SBR barrel assemblies from FN. They are not a normal item that one can buy as an accessory from FN America.. What a shame. They could have made some money by neutering them if they were select fire then sell them off like in the CMP program or raffle them off like those M24 Sniper Rifles that Remington sold. A shame really. I suppose that is wishful thinking as the SCAR upper receiver is the registered firearm so they would not be able to be sold to private citizens if they were select fire. I died a little inside seeing this photo.

Bump Firing A SCAR16S

FourGuysGuns take a Suppressed SBR SCAR16S and bump fire it with a Magpul D60 drum mag feeding it. It is rather impressive the rate of fire they are getting out of this SCAR16S. I wonder what trigger they are running? Possibly a Geissele? I do not think you can get this rate of fire out of the factory trigger.

On my way to Big 3 East I got to go on a fantastic tour of the FN America factory in Columbia, South Carolina. The South Carolina Factory is where they make the new FN15 AR-15 rifle. It is also the same plant that makes the military issue M4 and M16. They also make the FNS and FNX line of pistols as well as belt fed machine guns. But that is for another article. Kristina Demilt, Public Relations and Marketing Sr Specialist, and JP Reconnu, FN15 Product Manager, took us through the manufacturing process of the FN15 rifle.

POTD: Mystery SCAR-H Mag Extension

I found this image online but I cannot find out who makes the magazine extension for the SCARH magazine. I even showed it to FNH Pro Shooter Erik Lund, who shoots a SCAR17S in 3Gun, at SHOT Show 2016. He did not know what it was from. He even asked one of the Belgian employees and they said it is not made by FNH.
