Back in December local news in Baltimore reported that Baltimore County Police had problems with their FNS-40 pistols and were looking to replace them with Glocks. Baltimore County Police Department began reviewed their FN pistols in October 2018, and have made the decision to replace them.

FN America have announced the launch of a new model in their 509 family, a mid sized carry pistol. FN have also confirmed that the FN Tactical will also be available in a matte black finish in 2019.

FN America has confirmed in a Press Release that they have been chosen to produce two prototypes for the Next Generation Squad Automatic Rifle program (NGSAR).

A confidential source has revealed to TFB the current contestants that have passed the most recent phase of the Next Generation Squad Automatic Rifle Competition (NGSAR). This phase is less of an actual competition between small arms prototypes but more of a theoretical feasibility of design concepts before any trials progression ensues. Results from this recent Prototype Opportunity Notice (PON) showed that out of ten industry contestants, only six were advanced to the next stage of the competition. These six companies are in order of most successful: Aircraft Armaments, Inc. Textron (AAI Textron), PCP Tactical (a division of PCP Ammunition), Sig Sauer, General Dynamics Ordnance & Tactical Systems (GT-OTS), and two entries from FN America (labeled as Lightweight and Adaptive).

Last year I attended the first SCAR Owners group shoot in North Carolina. Well they held another one just a couple of weeks ago. The SCAR Owners Group Shoot 2.0 brought even more SCAR owners together at a new location. This time we went to Front Line Defense in Warrenton, North Carolina.

FN America has announced that FN’s new SCAR-SC is now available for purchase for US law enforcement agencies at all levels. The subcompact carbine was first  unveiled last year at Milipol 2017 in Paris by FN America’s parent company, FN Herstal.

AT the Shot Show Range Day, FN American was showing of some of their latest guns. They have the FN two tone FDE/Black series FN15 out on the range.

Although I love the new FDE & Black two-tone series from FN, if I’m being honest with myself, given the opportunity I’d own a M249S PARA in any color imaginable. Chartreuse, mauve, leopard print – heck even OD green is on the menu. Yes, yes, a semi-automatic beltfed seems like an insult to all those who provide covering fire, but I don’t care – I want one. Sadly, my budget might be able to squeeze in a FNS Compact color blocked pistol, but the 249 is left for fantasies and dreams.

Maryland residents now have two additional options for AR style rifles. FN America announced the company was now offering two “state compliant” FN 15 rifles that conform to the arbitrary firearm regulations imposed by the Old Line State.

One of the more interesting new gun announcements of 2016 was the M249S rifle from FN America. The gun was a semi-automatic rifle version of the M249 light machine gun (aka squad automatic weapon or SAW.)

Yet another super tempting rebate has been announced, this time from FN America for the FN 509. With all the options for some of the best deals I have seen in the gun market for some time, it sure isn’t making consumer’s lives easier. It is a whole lot cheaper to get into a quality pistol with a respectable number of mags than it has ever been though.

Last Saturday marked the very first FN SCAR Owners Group Shoot. The FN SCAR Owners Group is a Facebook Group of SCAR owners. This event was organized by Lester Gillis and hosted at Low Country Preserve in Tabor City, NC.
