POTD: .308 SCAR Or Galil?
Which would you choose? The SCAR or Galil in .308? Well George S. didn’t bother with that question and just got both.
.260 Remington Conversion for FN SCAR Mk 20 Spotted in SOFIC 2017
According to SoldierSystems.net, FN America has shown a .260 Remington conversion unit for FN SCAR Mk 20. What makes this news even more interesting is that it happened shortly after the US Special Operations Command (SOCOM) announced that they are exploring a possibility for a .264 caliber cartridge (6.5mm Creedmoor or .260 Remington) for the semi-auto sniper rifles.
The FN 509: A Peek At FN's MHS Pistol … Sorta
The FN 509 is about as close as you can currently get to the Modular Handgun Submission that Fn America sent into the DOD trials, but isn’t exactly the same gun. In this episode of TFB TV, Patrick takes the brand new FN 509 out to the range to get acquainted with the new to the market polymer framed wonder nine.
The New FN 509: Not The MHS Gun, But Close
FN America is letting us finally tell you about their brand new striker fired pistol. Well, I say brand new, but the reality is this design has been developed for some time now. If you look closely at the internals, you see that the handgun is unmistakeably a very refined FNS. Not a bad thing, the FNS has flown under the radar for far too long.
POTD: SCAR – Super Cool AR Or Ugg Boot Gun Stand?
The SCAR Stock has been jokingly compared to the popular Ugg Boot. It is not hard to see the resemblance especially in the FDE SCAR variants.
TFB's 11th Day Of Christmas: Pistols
Ah, what more do you need on a long winter’s night than a crackling fire, a warm drink and a pistol that you can use to fight your way back to your rifle. That saying never seems to get old… however, without starting a full-on blizzard of angry comments, a pistol is an adequate defensive weapon in the majority of first-world scenarios. That’s not to say that I would try and dictate how others decide to protect themselves.
FN DeFNder M3P Machine Gun
The FN DeFNder is a remote weapon station that can accomodate any of FN Herstal’s machine guns. The weapon platform looks rather stable in full auto as you can see in the video below. The RWS can be mounted to an armored vehicle or even a boat for Naval purposes. It has cameras that can see in day or night. Machine guns can be replaced and interchanged in minutes.
FN Goes FDE with FNS-9 Compact
FN America announced the addition of a new color to the FNS-9 Compact line. The new guns have a FDE frame with a color matched slide. The company uses a PVD process to apply the color. The new guns will carry a suggested retail price of $599.
POTD: FNP-45 Tactical Blew Up
Ian S. experienced quite a shock when his FNP tactical exploded.
Gun Review: FN SLP Competition Shotgun
Since FN was already sending us a 3-Gun focused rifle, it seemed only natural they would send along their SLP Competition 12-Gauge shotgun. I would have liked to run the two guns together in a 3-Gun match, but weather and my schedule prohibited it. That said, we did manage a thorough test of the SLP Competition.
POTD: SCAR17S Deconstructed
PFC Coatings took apart a SCAR 17S to coat it with FDE Gun Kote. According to their Instagram page, there is something missing in this photo. They have not commented on what that is. Can you tell what is missing?
IWI Tavors at 2016 FN 3Gun Championship
For the past four years I have staffed the FNH USA 3Gun Championships. I am staffing the match again this year and I am writing this as the match is being held this week. The match is held Thursday thru Saturday. Competitors shoot only 3-4 stages a day. However Staff shoot all 10 stages on Tuesday and Wednesday. During the staff shoot I saw Rebecca McCoy and Tom Alibrando of IWI competing with staff. I did not get to actually see them shoot but I saw them as I drove past to head to some of the stages. Two ROs that I am working with were on their squad. During lunch on Wednesday I asked them “So how are the IWI people doing in the match? How well has the X95 been doing on the long range targets?” To my surprise they said that the X95 is doing great. In fact they were almost one to one on the long range steel.
