FN Herstal and Fiocchi to Supply 5.7x28mm Ammo to the U.S. Market

At the exhibition Eurosatory 2022 in Paris, France, FN Herstal and Fiocchi have announced that they have entered into a new agreement. The new partnership should please U.S. customers as it specifically covers the manufacture and supply of 5.7x28mm ammunition in this market. The future plan is also to expand the existing range of 5.7x28mm ammunition for the U.S. commercial market.

FN America have announced the introduction of a new addition to their FN 509 series of polymer-framed pistols. The FN 509 Midsize Tactical comes in black and FDE with FN’s ‘Low-Profile Optics-Mounting System’ and weighs in at 27.9 oz.

FN SCAR Rifles Now in MultiCam

FN America will be displaying MultiCam SCARs at the 151st NRA Annual Meeting. The rifles are the same as usual – SCAR 16S, 17S and the 20S commercial variants – with Crye Precision’s original MultiCam pattern applied hydrographically to the receiver and the trigger module frame.

FN America Announces New FN 15 DMR3 Rifles

FN America have announced the introduction of their new FN 15 DMR3 rifles. Chambered in 5.56x45mm, the new DMR3 has an 18-inch hybrid profile barrel with a 1:8 twist and is available in matte black anodized, factory Cerakote flat dark earth (FDE) or tungsten gray finishes. The rifle comes with a Geissele two-stage G2S trigger and SureFire ProComp muzzle brake.

Mototech Engineering SCARburator Tunable SCAR Gas Selector

In the SCAR owners groups, Eduardo Moniet of Mototech Engineering has been quietly making upgrade parts for the FN America SCAR platform. One thing he has been making is his SCARburator gas selector. You replace your factory OEM gas selector for his and you can tune how much gas goes into the piston for use with SBRs and suppressors. Or you can tune it for your ammo.

FN Awarded $50 Million Contract for M240L & Titanium Receivers

FN America have announced a $50 million contract with the US Army to provide M240L GPMGs and titanium receivers. The new award is in line with the June 2021 contract worth $92 million to produce M240 series general purpose machine guns. The titanium receiver is the key component which helped shave 5 lbs off the previous M240B’s 27.6 lb weight. The M240H introduced in 2004 weighed 26.3 lbs while the L weighs just over 22 lbs. The number of guns and additional receivers ordered under the contract has not been confirmed.

FN Delivers First Shipment of FN 509 MRD-LE Duty Pistols to LAPD

Back in August 2021 we reported that Los Angeles Police Department had selected the FN 509 MRD-LE as its new LAPD duty pistol. FN America were awarded a contract to equip the entire department over the next five years. FN America have now announced that the first batch of approximately 10,000 pistols has been delivered.

FN America have ussed a safety bulletin for FN 502 Tactical .22LR owners to check that their manual safeties are installed properly. The bulletin comes after “a very limited number of… pistols in the field” were found to potentially have “improperly installed” safety.

The Rimfire Report: Reviewing the FN 502 Tactical Rimfire Pistol

Hello and welcome back to another edition of The Rimfire Report! This ongoing series is all about the rimfire firearm world and its many guns, accessories, and ammunition. For a long time, rimfire enthusiasts like myself have been looking for affordable alternatives to our favorite centerfire pistols and rifles. PSA: Double-Check Your State Laws Before Buying the FN502

The new FN502 Tactical 22LR pistol was announced recently and I’m sure many of you are trying to get your hands on one. However, you should be forewarned that if you live in certain states, the FN502 could run you afoul of the law due to its construction.
