The 200gr Gold Dot is something that best millimeter shooters have been wanting for a very long time. It’s finally here. Gold Dot is a fantastic bullet and 10mm deserves a heavier projectile like this.

10mm is the very best handgun cartridge ever made. There. I said it. If you’ve been following my series of ballistic gel tests on the TFB YouTube channel, TFB TV, you’ve noticed I try to work in some 10mm as often as I can. And I’ve done dozens of 10mm gel tests for my own YouTube channel. My infatuation for the cartridge is no secret. It isn’t just puppy love, though. 10mm really is seriously awesome, but not for the reasons that many people like it.

Budget firearms manufacturer Hi-Point is one of the biggest punching bags in the industry. Drive-by shooting? Must have been a Hi-Point. Pistol left behind at the scene of a crime? Must have been a Hi-Point. However, time and time again they have demonstrated that affordable guns can be reliable and that good customer service can solve most issues. Not that I am saying that the FBI should include Hi-Point in their next round of contract gun testing. But the future 1095TS 10mm carbine should draw a fair bit of interest.

For the fans of 10mm, the choices of affordable handguns chambered in the hard-hitting cartridge is a bit on the slim side. In the episode of TFB TV, Patrick takes the Ruger SR1911 in 10mm out to the range and puts some rounds down range. The SR1911 has some solid features given the price point that the pistol is normally available at online retailers. If you are looking for a 10mm single stack handgun, this is one to consider.
