Holosun had a surprise for us at this year’s SHOT Show Industry at the Range day – a pair of brand new prototype optics. The DRS family includes a thermal optic and a night vision optic. While the optics were marked DMS, Holosun told us they would likely be launched as the DRS or Digital reflex Sight.

Polymer80 had their full family of color matching 9x19mm pistols at SHOT Industry at the Range Day and we had the pleasure of putting a few rounds though them.

Matrix Arms showed off their new Cage pump action handguard for AR-15 rifles at SHOT 2023 Industry Range Day. Matrix is based in New Hampshire and has been in business since 2015. They are an OEM for other manufacturers and have built products for over 100 variances.

Shot Show Industry Day saw a lot of new Revolvers from Taurus.  Despite a gathering thunderstorm blowing into the area, we got to take some shots with these neat new wheelguns before lightning struck.  Let’s take an initial look at the lineup!

SIM-X’s leadless ammunition offers some exciting possibilities. We caught up with them at the range today to try out some of their new pistol ammunition. SIM-X have been around for a few years but their product couldn’t be any more timely given the concerns around exposure to lead poisoning and environmental impacts.

RUBOX, a company from Poland, showcased their bullet trap ballistic wall system at this year’s SHOT Show Industry at the Range Day. The system uses a series of rubber boxes filled with aggregate to capture bullets from a range of calibers.

In a year when a lot of semiauto manufacturers are coming out with mag fed lever guns, lever gun veterans Henry Repeating Arms ironically made the opposite move at SHOT Show 2023 Industry Day at the Range: They brought an ambidextrous 9mm semiautomatic carbine. The new Henry Homesteader 9mm 16 inch barreled carbine with ghost ring sights, a traditional wooden stock, and the provision to mount an optic on the receiver.

Shot Show 2023 range day was our first opportunity to get hands-on with Uintah Precision’s new Modern Sporting Muzzleloader.  Built on an AR lower receiver its aim is to bring a modern touch to the muzzleloader market.  I had a chance to get a closer look at this new muzzleloader and speak with Uintah employees about the rifle at this year’s Industry Day at the Range.

A wet and windy day at the range couldn’t stop us from checking out one of the newest rifles on the line. The Bellator from Georgia-based 21st TEC is a new precision system developed for military, law enforcement and commercial customers. The Bellator is a Multi-Caliber modular bolt action rifle designed for precision sub-MOA long range accuracy. It’s chambered in 338 Lapua Magnum, 300 Norma Magnum, .308 and 6.5 Creedmoor.

One of the many new products at the SHOT Show industry range day was the Military Armament Corporation JSOC 1911. This 5″ Government model 1911 is a call back to the older styles of done up 1911s with modern machining processes and materials.

Today at SHOT Show 2023’s Industry Day at the Range, we got hands-on trigger time with a few New Glock Products.   Team Glock’s Shane Coley ran us through the new G20 Gen5 MOS, along with their new G47.  Furthermore, we got to try out Glock’s new Performance trigger, a flat faced trigger that currently fits all Gen 5 9mm’s except the G43/48 slim frames.

At SHOT 2023’s Industry Day at the Range, Mean Arms unveiled their new Bearing Delayed 9mm carbine.  This new design uses their existing endomags in conjunction with a standard pattern AR-15 lower.  A set of three ball bearings (rather than rollers) are used in order to create a more tuneable delayed blowback firearm.  I had the opportunity to shoot the carbine and speak with Mean Arms about this radically new design.

Australian Defense company NIOA has acquired Barrett Firearms. Founded in 1982 By Ronnie Barrett the company quickly became synonymous with their .50 caliber anti-materiel rifles and later thier precision rifles including the MK22 Advanced Sniper Rifle. Barrett rifles have been used by militaries, police and civilian shooters all around the world.

You read the name, you know the gun: This is an aluminum framed, compensated version of the SIG P320, optics ready and in the Legion format. Today at Beretta’s pre-SHOT Show 2023 range day, we got to check out their new A300 Ultima Patrol.  This new shotgun brings near-1301 Tactical capability at the lower price point of the A300 lineup.

Today at Beretta’s pre-SHOT Show Range Day, we got to try out Beretta’s new 28 Gauge A400 Upland Magnum.  This svelte semiauto shotgun may be small in stature and meant for upland game, but according to Beretta reps it has the ability to take down ducks and geese with the right loads.  First announced in September 2022, this shotgun should be available now.

At today’s SHOT Show pre-industry day at the range Cadex Defence showcased their new CDX-SS SEVEN S.T.A.R.S PRO rifle.  Designed with the PRS shooter in mind, the SEVEN S.T.A.R.S. I think I speak for the rest of the TFB and TFBTV crew in saying that it was great to get back out on the SHOT Show floor and rub shoulders again with the wider gun industry and see old friends and make new ones. One of the more dubious products on the SHOT Show Floor would have to be the Agilite Pincer Placard. A magazine pouch testing device. Oh and they have new mag pouches as well as a laptop plate carrier and some updates to their soft goods line.

At the TNVC Booth, they had Noctis’ new lightweight binocular housing the Noctis BNVD. Noctis has their own take on refocus caps called RAAD and they had their updated Pathfinder project.

During the SHOT Show 2022, Foxtrot Mike Products (FM Products) has introduced a new 9mm PCC called Hybrid. The feature that jumps out immediately and sets this pistol caliber carbine apart from the competition is the design of its polymer lower receiver. Particularly, the design of the pistol grip which allows housing a spare magazine (yes, Glock magazine).
