New from Sharps Bros for 2023 is a grip module for SIG Sauer P365X and P365XL pistols. This new grip module is machined out of a solid block of 7075-T6 aluminum and has a mil-spec black anodized finish, but also features Brazilian Cherry grip panels which really change how it feels giving it that warm feel of the wood that metal and polymer grips lack.

New this year from KelTec, formerly known as Kel-Tec, is the KSG410, a dual mag tube, single-barrel shotgun that fits into the footprint of KelTec’s KS7.  Also new from KelTec is their R50, a 16″ barreled rifle version of their P50 5.7×28 pistol, complete with a folding stock that attaches to the bottom of the grip.

At SHOT Show 2023, Midwest Industries unveiled an entire line of AK accessories called the  AK Alpha Series. Currently, there are four main products in this family of Midwest Industries AK accessories: AK Alpha Series M-LOK Handguard, AK Alpha Series Optic Mount, AK Alpha Series Railed Top Cover and AK Alpha Series Folding Stock. Let’s take a closer look at each of these new Midwest Industries products.

A few months ago Luth-AR introduced their MCA-22 chassis kit for the Ruger 10/22. At SHOT Show 2023 we got a look at the MCA-22 and Luth-AR ran us through its features. MCA stands for Modular Chassis Assembly and according to Luth-AR, the chassis is designed for plinking, Tactical 22 matches, Steel Challenge, Practical Rimfire Challenge matches, or starting out in NRL22 competitions.

Matador Arms brought to SHOT Show 2023 their new MAT-9 blowback 9mm upper receiver assembly which is the improved version of the earlier released  Montgo-9. Compared to the Montgo-9, MAT-9 has a longer barrel (7.825” vs 5.5″) and forearm yet at an overall weight of 3 lbs, it’s lighter than the Montgo-9 by about 3 oz.

Over the last few months, Springfield Armory has come out with a number of new products which have done well for them. Whether it’s the Prodigy, 9mm Saint PCC or the SA-35, they have been busy over the last year with new product releases. At SHOT Show they had a number of these models out at their range day as well as their show floor booth so let’s take a look at SHOT 2023 Springfield Armory’s new products.

Welcome back to another Friday Night Lights. Last week I posted about some hidden night vision related gems at SHOT Show 2023. TFB in the Dark returns with full auto M16s, night vision and other machine gun night vision shoots during SHOT Show. There were four night shoots last week including the TFB staff shoot. Let’s see what people played with in the dark.

Bergara’s newest rifle models (Crest, HMR Carbon, And Ridge Carbon), all with carbon fiber components, were present at Industry Day At The Range 2023 as well as SHOT Show proper. All three of these new models have threaded barrels.

The FK Brno family of handguns is now a little bigger with the introduction of two new models at SHOT Show 2023 – the PSD-C and PSD-SL.

Known for their handy use on your workbench or in the field, Fix It Sticks launched two new pistol toolkits at SHOT Show 2023.  A new Pistol Armorers Toolkit and Compact Pistol Toolkit for SIG Sauer were on display at their new booth.  Let’s take a closer look at the two newest kits from Fix It Sticks.

Ruger’s Mayodan, NC facility has been busy cranking out reintroduced Marlin models, and they have two more to add to their list: the 1894 and 336.  The reintroduced models have features updated such as hooded front sights and should be available soon to the public.

EOTECH have begun branching out from optics, last year they began offering a line of thermal imagine devices and night vision systems, and this year they have introduced their first Laser Aiming Module. The OGL or ‘On Gun Laser’ is a pretty compact (at around 3.5 inches long and 2 inches wide) and handy multifunctional aiming laser, with a vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser (VCSEL) infrared illuminator along with an infrared laser designator and visible laser – all impressively powered by a CR123 battery. The OGL weighs 7 ounces with the battery and will be available in FDE and grey.

New this year via Grand Power’s importing partner Global Ordnance will be a .22LR Stribog as well as fully outfitted Stribog Carbines.  The .22LR Stribog TR22 will initially come as a pistol, priced close to the 9mm Stribogs.  The Stribog carbines will be assembled in the United States with at least the requisite number of parts to be 922r compliant, if not more.  There are also two new pistols coming this year from Grand Power: an LP chambered in 9×18 Makarov and the AREX Delta XTAC.

11 Not only have Vudoo Gun Works entered the centerfire precision rifle market with the brand new Morpheus but they also now offer a line of 1911 and 2011 pistols. The recently introduced Mobius 1911 line will soon be joined by the Priest 2011.

Vudoo Gun Works are well known for their series of .22LR rifles including the Ravage, Sinister and Apparition. For SHOT Show 2023, Vudoo Gun Works brought along three new prototype magazines for their rifles. The magazines come in three capacities: 5, 10 and 15 rounds and have a user-requested adjustable magazine catch on the rear face of the magazine. This ensures a well-seated magazine.

Ahead of this year’s SHOT Show, SIG Sauer held an independent range day at the Clark County Shooting Complex and one of the brand new products showcased there was a new enclosed pistol red dot optic from SIG’s electro optics division – the Romeo M17.

In our earlier article on SIG Sauer’s pre-SHOT Show range day, we looked at the Next Generation Squad Weapon display and discussed the XM5 rifle’s name change to the XM-7. You might have spotted an interesting new optic in the display, that optic is the new SIG Romeo 9T.

Popping by the Bond Arms booth at SHOT Show is always a pleasure, the guys are always fun to chat with and they always have something new and unusual. By far the most eye-catching firearm at the Bond booth this year was their brand-new lever-action, but for more on that check out our earlier article.

TFB got the exclusive first look at Vudoo Gun Works’ brand new centerfire rifle – the Morpheus at this year’s SHOT Show. The new rifle arrived on the floor just a couple of hours before and we got to take a look at it. The Morpheus will initially be available in .223 Remington, 6mm & 6.5 Creedmoor, 6.5 PRC, and .308 Winchester in a short action with a long action to follow on.

The Hushpuppy Beretta pistol is a holy grail for some. A few years ago, Knights Armament opened up their vaults and sold a limited run of these pistols. They sold for $8,500. Well for those of you who missed out on the Knight’s Armament XM9 Hushpuppy there will be an alternate solution coming soon. Josh Rowe of Allegheny Gun Works (AGW) is working on his own XM9 Hushpuppy project.

When it comes to suppressing a 12 gauge shotgun, there are not a lot of options. Most people know of the Salvo12 but it has its compromises. JK Armament has come out with their SGX shotgun suppressor and it is a lot lighter than the Salvo12.

If you have been tracking some of the things I have been dabbling with, you might notice I have gone down the rabbit hole a bit with ATAK. Well, I came across VK Integrated Systems, Aries Defense and Legionarius all at the same booth at SHOT Show 2023 and they have some interesting ATAK integration.

At this year’s SHOT Show, there were a number of interesting ammunition manufacturers. One of which was BioAmmo from Spain. Their ammunition is specially designed for hunters and clay shooters looking for quality cartridges with maximum efficiency in terms of speed and penetration but also minimise plastic usage. BioAmmo explain that their ‘cases and wads are made with 100% compostable and biodegradable biopolymers that do not leave toxic residues in nature.’

Fiocchi say their newest cartridge makes short work of varmints. The new Hyperformance .223 Remington cartridge was showcased at SHOT Show 2023, alongside a couple of other new rounds including a new 4.6x30mm defensive round and Fiocchi’s new Golden Waterfowl Bismuth Shotshells. There’s always a lot of new products at SHOT Show but its rare you’re genuinely surprised to come across something. I stopped by the Bond Arms booth, a company renowned for their myriad of Derringer models, and was met by something that immediately grabbed my attention – the new Bond Arms Lever Action.

New this year from Tippmann Ordnance is a .22LR Gatling Gun with an innovative and low-cost feed belt.  The six-barreled gun comes complete with a tripod, T&E mechanism and belts.  The belts themselves are an all-new polymer design from Tippmann Ordnance that is low-cost and, according to them, easy to load. The Tippmann Ordnance .22LR Gatling Gun can fire pretty fast, but its gear is rated to 600 rounds per minute.

Hidden away in Mossberg’s SHOT booth was a few new shotguns: Mossberg 590S models with the Optic Ready capability, as well as new M-LOK forends.  Able to mount a low-profile optic, and cycling everything from mini shells to 3″, the new 590S Optic-Ready models are available with 18″ and 20″ barrels, both retailing at $704 MSRP.

If you’ve ever dreaded drifting out a front sight or scratched up your slide while swapping out your pistol’s sights then XS Sights have the tool for you. At SHOT Show 2023, they showed us their new in-line sight pusher models; a DIY version and one designed for gunsmiths.

Zenith have a number of pretty exciting products on the way ranging from new iterations of their ZF-5, piston-driven AR-15s and a range of new 5.56x5mm roller delayed rifles – modelled after the HK33 and HK53, and a 7.62x51mm G3 pattern rifle too.

When walking down the aisles of SHOT Show 2023, Dead Foot Arms’ AR-MP9 caught my attention. It is not a secret I am a fan of the MP5 and I find AR9s that mimic MP5’s interesting. There have been attempts made by other manufacturers to mimic the MP5 aesthetics but the Dead Foot Arms’ AR-MP9 is the closest so far.
