We have been publishing the Photo Of The Day for years. Our focus is on firearms, sometimes a new product, a classic or in the hands of soldiers or sports shooters. Sometimes the pictures work just like pieces of art, like when the night is painted in bullet traces.

TFB’s Photo Of The Day is where you can discover the world of firearms through a camera lens. Every day we run a new theme, one of a few selected pictures together with a short story and a credit to the photographer behind the lens. Today we have soldiers from the Dominican Republic Special Forces shooting the M4 Carbine rifle at targets downrange at the shooting house in Sierra Piedras, Dominican Republic. This happened a while ago, in April 2004, during unilateral training at the Joint Task Force Tradewinds 04 Multinational Training Exercise. To my knowledge, this is the first time we have soldiers from the Dominican Republic here at The Firearm Blog. We had some Belizean Sniper in Stalking Event about two years ago, which is probably the closest we get.

TFB’s Photo Of The Day is a daily article series that features images of firearms in various places. Over the years, it’s developed into a series of articles that thousands of our readers enjoy. Today the subject is carrying a 1911. According to Springfield Armory, the Enhanced Micro Pistol (EMP) is the smallest 1911 in the world.

TFB’s Photo Of The Day tries to push the excellent work done by so many photographers around the world and in the firearms industry. It’s a celebration to those who go in harm’s way trying to catch those special moments for us, but also those who stay in the studio working out the perfect lighting and setting hour after hour. Armed with skills, cameras and sometimes a fair bit of editing here is where their hard work ends up. Most Hera Arms stocks have been mounted on AR15s, but today we have an Avtomat Kalashnikova with the HERA Arms CQR Ak Stock. What do you think about it?

Photo Of The Day: Above we see Spc. Jacob Mink, a scout sniper assigned to 2nd Platoon, Bravo Company, 1-149th, Infantry Battalion, Task Force Red Dragon, Combined Joint Task Force – Horn of Africa, as he provides security during Exercise WAKRI 22 near Ali Sabieh, Djibouti. He’s using the M110A1 Compact Semi-Automatic Sniper System (CSASS), which is a development from Heckler & Koch’s HK417 in 7.62×51 mm. Note the optics from SIG Sauer and the tape covering the suppressor, probably to avoid sand and dust getting into the system. The suppressor cover is from Armageddon Gear.

The FN F2000 is the standard issue rifle for the Slovenian Armed Forces. The Slovenians have bought a total of 14,000 rifles and their version of the rifle is called the FN F2000S. Since FN Herstal has now stopped the production of this model this seems like both the first and the last large-scale adoption of this rifle by a European and NATO member country.

The goal of TFB’s Photo Of The Day is to give your eyes something worth watching, and your brain something to think about every day. You won’t find a lot of pictures of sunsets, flowers or tourist landmarks here, instead, the photo selection spans from soldiering, firearms, special units, snipers and the odd knife or two. Today we have a picture taken from the HNoMS Fridtjof Nansen (from the Royal Norwegian Navy) of the USS Harry S. Truman Carrier Strike Group as they are passing through the Strait of Gibraltar.

One of the goals of TFB’s Photo Of The Day is to share treasures from the world of firearms while giving credits to the photographer. Above you see U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Alex Story with Force Reconnaissance Platoon, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), as he patrols through the jungle on Camp Schwab, Okinawa, Japan. This happened at the end of January 2022.

Over a century ago there was a growing number of magazines published throughout the world. There was an increased demand for photographic illustrations for the magazines to be competitive. With time, the cameras developed and became lighter, cheaper and easier to use. We all know that was only the beginning, as lenses, motor drives, electronic flash and things like auto-focus developed in the 1960s and into the digital era, with all its potential. Just imagine what the Internet has done to things like deadlines for a photographer. No more time wasted in a dark room full of chemicals. Today TFB’s Photo Of The Day goes to Finland for some action with Finnish “RK” rifles.

TFB’s Photo Of The Day has become an impressive gallery, with an ever-growing number of images of firearms in all sorts of environments. Today we’re going to add a few more, on the subject of CRYSTAL ARROW. This is the biggest tactical exercise of its kind involving NATO enhanced Forward Presence Battle Group Latvia and allies from U.S. Army Europe and Africa and Mechanized Brigade.

Photo Of The Day: TFB’s favorite shots (pun intended) served on a daily basis. We don’t think you have seen today’s selection before, taken on the flight deck of the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75) during a live-fire exercise, in January 2022. We have an Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technician who fires an M14 Enhanced Battle Rifle. The rifle was originally built for use with units like the Navy SEALS and Delta Force within the United States Special Operations Command.

Our daily article Photo Of The Day will take you to some very exciting and unusual places. Today we take a look at a very custom Saiga 9mm PCC. Jelena from Russia is the owner and the brain behind the paintwork. She’s an avid competitor in IPSC and dynamic shooting. The question is why does your own 9mm PCC Carbine look so boring compared to this one?

Photo Of The Day and today we have SIG SAUER AG and Concamo on offer. As usual, the latter does its best to hide, but the proven SG 751 SAPR in 7.62×51 made by SIG Sauer AG (Switzerland) does its best to stand out. The second firearm is a SG 553 BK in .300 Blackout with a matching suppressor. Which one do you like best?
