Aimpoint has been chosen to deliver mini red dot sights to the Alternative Individual Weapon System, designated L403A1 to the UK’s Ministry Of Defence. Deliveries will be handled by Aimpoint’s exclusive UK distributor Edgar Brothers. The Alternative Individual Weapon System consists of three elements – the rifle itself made by Knight’s Armament Company and designated L403A1, the optic system L900A1, and a training system. As part of the optic system, Aimpoint will supply the ACRO® P-2 red dot sight.

Federal Premium had announced their new line of Gold Medal CenterStrike ammunition heading into SHOT Show 2023, and now they are beginning to get some of that ammo out the door! Throughout this summer, they have been shipping .308 Win Match-Grade loads to dealers and now they have some 6.5 Creedmoor ready as well. During a video introducing some new products published on 31 August, Bill Geissele announced that Geissele’s submission to US SOCOM’s MRGG-S (Mid-Range Gas Gun) program had been selected. The new rifle appears to have beaten out rival designs from other down-selected companies, including FN and LMT.

Taurus have announced the introduction of their full-size, polymer frame TS9. The pistol weighs in at 35.2oz unloaded, has a 4-inch barrel, is ambidextrous and comes with two 17-round magazines and  4 backstraps. MSRP for the new pistol is $499.99.

The first is a lighter and leaner spotting scope in the Razor HD 13-39x56mm. Up next, are 2 new binocular harness systems in the GlassPak Sport and GlassPak Pro. The Department of Energy (DOE) has procured the Primary Arms PLx 1-8×24 scope for its security forces. PA makes a few reticle options, and DOE opted for the ACSS Griffin Mil M8 version. It is an illuminated mil-grid FFP design. 

Brownells continues to expand its BRN-180 offerings with the addition of new barrel lengths. Those new models have either a 14.5 or 13.9-inch barrel. This is excellent news for people who like pinned and welded muzzle devices.

JDI Firearms is the sole US importer of SIG SG55x firearms, including models like the SG550 and SG553. In addition to SIG, JDI imports high-end brands like PGM Precision and Wyssen Defence. JDI Firearms announced in an Instagram post that CSR Precision is the latest brand to join their lineup.

Bravo Company Manufacturing, aka BCM, has a whole new spin on Picatinny rail mounts. The new Angled Torque Mounts do away with the traditional cross-bolt and replace it with an angled screw that pulls against the underside of the rail. BCM claims that this new system offers “unprecedented zero retention.”

It was less than 2 weeks ago that we reported on Optics Planet and Viridian Weapon Technologies teaming up to produce some 30mm mounts for sporting rifles (AR-15s, AK-47s, etc) through their OPMOD series of products. Now, these two manufacturers are back at it again with another collab for some lights and laser beams – Omega Universal Lights and Green Lasers.
