Steiner have announced the release of an FDE version of their popular MPS (Micro Pistol Sight) pistol red dot optic. Beretta have unveiled their new rifle, the New Assault Rifle Platform or NARP. Chambered in 5.56×45 NATO, the NARP program has developed an AR-pattern rifle that uses a short-stroke gas piston system and a rotating bolt locking system. According to EDR, NARP is the name of the development program rather than the rifle itself, with the weapon to be named at a later date.

The drama continues with the New Mexico gun ban. Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham’s order is so wildly out of line with the current law that her Attorney General is refusing to defend it in court. If that sounds like a pretty serious rebuke, that’s because it is.

New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham just took the unprecedented step of banning open and concealed carry in parts of the state under the guise of a public health order. “But doesn’t that fly directly in the face of the 2022 Supreme Court case New York State Rifle & Pistol Association v. Bruen?” you might ask. Well yes, it very plainly does. Let’s unpack where this order came from and where it is going to go. 

Sadly, it seems that Windham Weaponry is closing its doors for good. They broke the news in a statement posted on their website on Monday, September 11, 2023. They will cease taking web orders on September 12th.

SIG Sauer has issued a safety bulletin regarding light-bearing holsters. Without naming any specific model of handgun, SIG is warning end users that holsters that accommodate weapon-mounted lights have larger openings and can cause unintentional discharges. This safety bulletin comes against a background of recurrent claims that the P320 fires without the trigger being pulled, including a recent video from a police station where a P320 fired while in a holster.

Edgar Brothers, the UK-based prime contractor for the UK’s new  Alternative Individual Weapon System – the L403A1, has provided some further details on the rifle and a breakdown of its components. The UK plans to procure 10,000 of the rifles over the next decade at an estimated cost of £90 million ($110 million).
