Strike Industries has just announced their latest aftermarket accessory specifically for the KRISS Vector SDP with their new Stike Handguard featuring M-LOK attachment sections.

Starting April 2023, Anderson Manufacturing will release Special Edition Builder Sets that consist of an Anderson lower, upper and handguard with a custom Cerakote finish. Each month they will collect pre-orders for a one-of-a-kind pattern, which will be released the following month. Cerakote is a ceramic-based coating that is applied to various surfaces, including metals like here. Over the years the process has become increasingly popular due to its durability and resistance to wear, corrosion, impact, and chemicals. In this case, the coating will be made by Grit City Cerakote.

The AR-15 is popular for so many reasons. One of the big ones is ergonomics. The AR pistol grip has become so popular, that even precision rifle manufacturers are making them standard on their guns. Sometimes suppressor parts cannot or are suggested against using an ultrasonic cleaner which is my typical go-to for cleaning lead and carbon fouling. Many guns are exceedingly serious tools, purpose-built for potential life-or-death situations. Others are made more for fun – entertaining, enjoyable range toys. Today’s examination focuses on a case of the latter. Unless you live under a rock, by now you’ve likely at least heard of the extremely popular television series “The Mandalorian”, launched in 2019, from Disney’s Star Wars universe. One of the titular character’s weapons in the series is a sniper rifle called the Amban Phase-Pulse blaster, noted for its prominent two-pronged forked muzzle. As gun guys often do, some viewers who are also firearms aficionados have geeked out over the show’s prop weapons, looking for real-world guns that the props may be based on. In the case of the Amban rifle, there were none to be found. The blaster was an entirely fabricated prop and not a dressed-up real gun, as many other Star Wars weapons have been. However, the mad AK scientists at a Phoenix-based shop called Lee Armory have at least somewhat changed that.

New Hampshire-based Samson Manufacturing produces a healthy list of firearms components and accessories. While the AR-15 features strongly in their lineup, with a variety of handguards, iron sights, and more on offer for it, their catalog touches plenty of other firearm types as well. From folding stocks for Ruger 10/22s and Mini-14s to rails for MP5 clones, to comps for pistols and PCCs, there’s a little bit of something for nearly everyone. Recover Tactical introduced their P-IX carbine conversion kit for Glock pistols about a year ago. This kit has a clamshell design that completely encloses the pistol installed into it, turning the grip of the pistol into a magazine well in front of its trigger guard. The company has now announced an improved version of this conversion kit called P-IX+. Compared to the first model, the Recover Tactical P-IX+ features a reinforced upper Picatinny rail, an enhanced pistol retention mechanism, a pistol grip that can hold a spare magazine and a new buffer tube.

JTAC Industries, the company behind the bullpup Stribog concept, has announced a new aluminum handguard for these Slovakian PCCs/pistols. As its name implies, the new JTAC Industries Stribog Suppressor Compatible Handguard is designed to accommodate suppressors inside it and, of course, it adds extra M-LOK slots and extends the top Picatinny rail. When Strike Industries announced their Strike Modular Chassis (SMC) for the SIG Sauer P320, I was intrigued. Strike Industries sent out their SMC in for this review as well as some recently released upgrade parts for it. So let us dive in and take a closer look at their modular chassis.

When it comes to vertical grips, most people that I know will buy a longer grip and cut it down. Those of you who own, or at least have handled the Non-Reciprocating Charging Handle (NRCH for short) FN SCAR may have noticed that the stock version of said charging handle has stuck out from the side of the gun. Again the chosen canvas is the premium O/U shotgun, the SL3, now declined in an unconventional tribute to the pharaoh Tutankhamon.

Backup Tactical is going to have several new products coming out in early 2023 including their first of the year – the new SIG P320 Perfect Fit PROComp lineup. The PROComp lineup is a series of CNC machined anodized aluminum single port comps that match the contours and lines of the P320 platform and are said to reduce recoil by up to 50%.

In the case of one Beretta M9 owner, Ben, the standard-sized grips that were supplied with his Beretta M9 were too large for his liking, and the aftermarket options were over his budget. In this article, I decided to give my Mauser C96 a bit of maintenance and a fresh change with new Mauser C96 parts since it has been getting a lot of attention lately. For the past few weeks, it has been featured fairly heavily as the hero gun in my Curious Relics series over at our sister site AllOutdoor.com. With that comes the price of hands-on wear and tear at the range. By no means do I mistreat my old school firearms but shooting them and working with them, in general, can be sort of “stressful” on them for lack of a better word. One recommendation I have to anyone out there who is interested in owning and shooting older guns is to make sure you buy spare firing pins and extractors if you can without breaking the bank. Then swap those out with the originals and keep the originals on standby. That is what I did and that is what lies below. Let’s dive right into installing new Mauser C96 parts!

In this article, I decided to try something I have not done before. This article will be pretty uneventful as far as earth-shattering content BUT!!! I could not find much content out there as far as replacing Magpul MBUS sight pieces so I figured I’d share my little adventure and hopefully reveal some helpful things along the way. That being said, let’s dive right into installing XS Sights on the MBUS.

The Ohio Ordnance Works SHOT Show 2023 booth had a range of their civilian semi-auto weapons out on display including the HCAR. Alongside the HBAR was the Ohio Ordnance Works manufactured M240 fitted with one of their 240 Patrol-SLR Conversion Kit. The kit is something they have offered to the military and law enforcement for a number of years but recently, in November of last year, they made the kit available commercially to the M240-owning public.

Luth-AR had a number of new products on display at this year’s SHOT Show. We’ve already looked at their handy  Modular Chassis Assembly (or MCA-22) but they also have a number of new accessories for your AR. These included the ambidextrous Wing Grip and the new left-handed ‘Chubby’ grip.

Mesa Tactical continues to expand its accessory options for shotguns, particularly for the Beretta 1301 and Benelli M2. New for 2023, the Truckee forend is now available for M2 and 1301 shooters.

New from Sharps Bros for 2023 is a grip module for SIG Sauer P365X and P365XL pistols. This new grip module is machined out of a solid block of 7075-T6 aluminum and has a mil-spec black anodized finish, but also features Brazilian Cherry grip panels which really change how it feels giving it that warm feel of the wood that metal and polymer grips lack.

At SHOT Show 2023, Midwest Industries unveiled an entire line of AK accessories called the  AK Alpha Series. Currently, there are four main products in this family of Midwest Industries AK accessories: AK Alpha Series M-LOK Handguard, AK Alpha Series Optic Mount, AK Alpha Series Railed Top Cover and AK Alpha Series Folding Stock. A few months ago Luth-AR introduced their MCA-22 chassis kit for the Ruger 10/22. At SHOT Show 2023 we got a look at the MCA-22 and Luth-AR ran us through its features. MCA stands for Modular Chassis Assembly and according to Luth-AR, the chassis is designed for plinking, Tactical 22 matches, Steel Challenge, Practical Rimfire Challenge matches, or starting out in NRL22 competitions.

If you’ve ever dreaded drifting out a front sight or scratched up your slide while swapping out your pistol’s sights then XS Sights have the tool for you. At SHOT Show 2023, they showed us their new in-line sight pusher models; a DIY version and one designed for gunsmiths.

FAB Defense have launched a new recoil mitigating buttstock. The GL-CORE Impact stock uses a patented recoil reduction mechanism with three variable settings. FAB Defense say that the stock can reduce felt recoil by up to 50% and can be used with shotguns and rifles.

The next evolution for the home machinist is DIY RMR cuts in Glock slides with the Ghost Gunner 3 (GG3). Defense Distributed was kind enough to send in their Optic Cut Kit.
