North Forest Arms, a company located in Burlington, NC, makes interesting pistol night sights called Dual Picture sights. The rear sight of Dual Picture sights is a large aperture with a notch cut on top and tritium dots on its sides. The front sight houses a tritium dot and has a top extension matching the cutout in the rear sight. In this article, I decided to take a break from the sawdust and woodwork on the Remington Model 10 Trench Gun project and do some quick new old gun maintenance. I recently picked up a 1916 World War One Luger P08 with many matching numbers. Let’s dive right into replacing a Luger P08’s small parts!

Cutting your slide for an optic can be expensive. Well, at least if you want it done right. It also limits you to only using optics that fit the footprint you chose. Plate systems work, but if you’re looking for a Glock, in my experience, the MOS guns are not as easy to find as they should be (optics compatibility on a “perfect” combat handgun should be standard by now, but that’s for another time). On top of all of this, there are so many red dots out there, committing to just one can be difficult. If you’re among the shooters who aren’t ready to cut your slide or choose one dot, the Strike Industries Scorpion Universal Reflex Mount Version 2 might be right for you.

One of my all-time favorite carry guns has to be my Silver Slimline Glock 48. I’ve had this handgun going 4 years now and I’ve carried it extensively more or less in its original configuration save for an aftermarket trigger shoe and a flared magwell. The Italian/American rifle stock manufacturer WOOX are expanding their line of hybrid aluminum/walnut stocks with the introduction of two new competition models dubbed Furiosa Ultra and Titano. In this article, I decided to do a little woodworking. I apologize for the lack of Armorer’s Bench content as of late. It has been tough juggling all the projects I have planned and getting them set up. One such multifaceted project is my Remington Model 10 Trench Gun project. Fear not! I am not destroying a beautiful well working and well-finished Remington Model 10 in order to achieve this. I picked up a real heap of one and got the necessary materials together to make a gun I never thought I’d own. My old soul is absolutely flustered with excitement. Let’s dive right into this Remington Model 10 Handguard Fix!

I acquired a Daewoo DR200 a couple years ago and like any other gun, the Daewoo rifles have their own cult following. Thanks to a Facebook group for Daewoo owners, I found Richard Pierce and his DR200 upgrades.

TriggerTech has expanded its range of AR triggers to include new Duty models. These cassette-style triggers feature drop-in installation. Both single-stage and two-stage options are available in the Duty range.

Two staples within the Springfield Armory handgun line-up are their micro-compact Hellcat for everyday carry (EDC) as well as their full-frame XD-M (Xtreme Duty Match). While they can be likened to each like a big-little brother relationship, if you were ever in the market for a threaded barrel for either of them, you had to go swimming in the aftermarket parts world to hopefully find one with a good fitment. Now, Springfield Armory is offering XD-M threaded barrels for their 4.5″ models and Hellcat threaded barrels for their standard 3″ offering.

Thankfully, suppressor use and ownership have become more and more common in recent years. As shooters become more aware of the passive dangers involved with shooting, like lead poisoning and hearing loss, steps are being taken to reduce health hazards. Suppressors are probably the most effective tool we have against hearing loss. If you didn’t hear that last sentence, it might be time to pick one up! However, silencers (or suppressors, use whichever you want, nobody cares) have some drawbacks. The primary problem is that they get very hot. This means mirage during precision shooting. It also means some very hot pants during rifle-to-pistol transitions. MODTAC, a company local to me in Colorado, makes rigid suppressor shields to mitigate both of these issues. They have a few models but today we’re looking at the MODTAC U-RAC.

KE Arms makes more than just lowers and uppers, they also make virtually every other AR part you could imagine replacing including their very own line of aftermarket drop-in style triggers. Their new RTS-2 Rekluse trigger is the latest evolution of KE Arms’ triggers including their Sear Link Technology triggers. This new version includes an improved design to include a full mil-spec power hammer spring, and a more sealed design to protect against debris.

In an effort to keep your carry gun from snagging on your clothes, most modern micro-compacts are smooth. Corners rounded, edges smooth, these firearms are built for a specific purpose. However, in this process, some feel that these pistols are too smooth. Shooters understand the need for texture in strategic places, one being the magazine release. Armaspec has a new Ambidextrous Safety Selector called the Fulcrum. It’s intended for use on the AR10 or the AR15 platforms. In this article, I had some rimfire stuff on my mind since Luke C reached out and asked if I could fill in on Rimfire Report (I unfortunately have been pretty busy). It made me think of back when I was going to school for gunsmithing and repaired my father’s boyhood 22LR rifle. I’ll save that story for a future Rimfire Report whenever I am called upon again but for now, I wanted to do a commentary article on the Marlin Model 60 series of rifles. All variations of it apply even my dad’s old Coast to Coast Model 40 that he asked his father to buy him in the early 70s. Let’s dive right into this Marlin Model 60 commentary!

Mesa Tactical, that California expat company now located in Reno, Is known for law enforcement- and home defense-ready upgrades for long guns. My first experience with their gear was installing their Sureshell shell carrier/rail combo on my Remington 870 Tactical shotgun. Installation was laborious, but it’s held up well and has been so handy in terms of keeping shells at hand for speedy reloads as well as offering plenty of Pic rail for the various sighting components I’ve tried over time. It was with enthusiasm that I accepted Mesa Tactical’s offer to test the Gen II version of their LEO Stock Kit.

A 12-gauge shotgun is a formidable weapon. You’ll find the internet to be littered with comments about shotguns being the best home defense weapon. While these comments are usually filled with inaccuracies and spelling mistakes, what they tend to lack is criticism. Shotguns are very effective but also tend to lack capabilities that would put them on par with other modern options.
