At SHOT Show 2024, Iver Johnson introduced a selection of new firearms, expanding its product offerings with both shotguns and a pistol. While not manufactured in the U.S., as the company’s website explains, their firearms are produced by partners in Turkey and the Philippines for Iver Johnson but maintain the commitment to quality and affordability the brand is known for.

James Reeves is at HUXWRX to shoot their prototype shotgun suppressor. Initially designed for the Genesis-12 shotgun, if this suppressor is released to the commercial market, there’s a plan to adapt it to other popular platforms. What do you think – should HUXWRX follow through on this product?

Expanding their extensive lineup of firearms, Khan Arms today introduced their new Matrix Inertial Semi-Auto Shotgun and a new line of PXS pump action shotguns chambered in .410 Bore. Known for about a quarter-century of crafting quality rifles and shotguns, the Turkish firearms manufacturer is bringing new options to shotgun enthusiasts.

Browning has announced the introduction of a 20 gauge version of its A5 shotgun at SHOT 2024. Notably different from the original Auto 5 series, this model features a humpback receiver that conceals a Kinematic Drive action, aligning with its modern 12 gauge and 16 gauge counterparts.

This Photo Of The Day is like taken out of a Hollywood movie, don’t you think? We’re looking at Kel-Tec’s KS7 bullpup shotgun, priced just at $530. The KS7 has an 18.5″ magazine tube which holds up to 7+1 rounds, depending on your choice of shell size. The barrel has the same length, so there should be plenty of speed and gas regardless if you use it for target shooting or home defense.

The Czech entrepreneur Michal Strnad’s company Czechoslovak Group (CSG), now holds the majority stake in Armi Perazzi, a renowned Italian manufacturer specializing in shotguns for trap shooting and hunting. Established in 1957 by Daniele Perazzi and currently led by his descendants, Mauro and Roberta Perazzi, the company’s guns have contributed to winning 62 Olympic medals across 11 Olympics.

I’ve recently been digging pretty heavily into survival rifle coverage on my weekly Rimfire Report series. This 12 gauge side-by-side shotgun is a tribute to the Renaissance astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus who formulated a heliocentric model of the universe. According to Beretta, this shotgun is the result of 800 hours of work by master craftsmen in Gardone Val Trompia, added to months of study by the Research & Development, Design and Marketing departments.

Hello and welcome back to another edition of The Rimfire Report. This ongoing series is all about rimfire firearms, ammo, history, shooting sports, and more! Last week we got to talk about the really cool Iver Johnson M1 Carbine 22LR rifle. I was surprised to hear that at least one of you in the comments owned one but simply loathed that you couldn’t find magazines for it. The only reliable place I know to purchase magazines for that specific gun is from Iver Johnson themselves, however, the magazines don’t ever seem to be in stock and your next best bet is probably paying twice as much for one on GunBroker. This week we’re taking a look at another discontinued gun, that has seen modern variants rise up to take its place. I am of course talking about Combination Guns, specifically the Savage Model 24. This 22LR/.410 Bore combination gun has a rich history in both the military and the civilian world and lives on today in the form of the Savage Model 42 rifle.

Joining the ranks among a few other notable names within the bullpup shotgun scene is the new Escort BullTac pump-action bullpup shotgun. The new shotgun is capable of running up to 3″ shells, sports a standard length 18″ barrel, and an overall length of just 27.75 inches. Other features include a fixed cylinder choke, oxidation-resistant chrome-plated steel barrel, and a completely detachable carry handle.

There is a load of shotgun shells out there that can completely change the task that your shotgun is capable of handling. Duplex loads can often help bridge the gap between two different tasks or ranges. Remington’s new Nitro-Steel Duplex load is a new high-velocity shot shell loaded with two different sizes of shot. At the time of launch, there will be two available shot combinations, with two additional shot combinations coming at a later date.

Federal Ammunition has a new shotgun load entering the market. This No. 1 Buckshot loading has 16 copper-plated pellets in every shell. Let’s take a detailed look at the rest of the features.

A new shotgun magazine extension may not sound like something newsworthy, however, Briley Manufacturing’s new HONEYCOMB extensions have a rather unusual design – they are skeletonized! Now, of course, dirt and debris will easily find their way into a magazine equipped with a skeletonized extension and cause malfunctions but I assume Briley HONEYCOMB extensions are made for competition shooting which is normally done in a more controlled environment compared to hunting or defensive and tactical use? I don’t know … sound off in the comments section.

Standard Manufacturing introduced the second generation of their DP-12 double-barrel pump-action bullpup shotgun. The differences between the DP-12 Gen II and the first-generation DP-12 shotguns are in the new contour of the barrels and the new patented polymer/aluminum frame. Let’s take a look at the specs and features of the Standard Manufacturing DP-12 Gen II shotgun.

James Reeves covers the Genesis booth at TriggrCon 2023 to show you one of the hottest guns from the show: the short-barreled Genesis 12. Known primarily for being the fire-breathing mag-fed semi-auto shotgun from John Wick 4, the Genesis 12 has found instant popularity and is, in its own right, a solid design in a reliable package. Genesis is now pushing the boundaries of this platform by shrinking it down to a PDW-sized package with a 7-inch barrel. We actually got to try it out at the range at TriggrCon 2023.

Manufactured by O.F. Mossberg & Sons, the Mossberg 590 is a popular pump-action shotgun. It’s used by the military as well as in law enforcement applications, but it’s also popular for home defense and sporting purposes. I’m sure that more than a few of TFB’s readers have one close to their bed at night.
