Black Arch Holsters has released a new appendix carry holster and mag caddy combination rig called  Entrada. The most interesting feature of this product is that the holster and magazine pouch are attached to each other via three straps that can flex and conform the rig to your body shape and motions.

Welcome back dear readers to another Featured Deals of the Week. I’m your host, Benjamin F, and this week’s theme is “the first post since SHOT”. Let’s dive right in.

The clever engineers at Armanov in Slovenia have a new product which should interest reloaders of rifle ammunition.

I had the opportunity to speak with the creators of SafeShoot this year at SHOT Show 2020. The system they’ve come up with aims to prevent friendly fire incidents for hunters, law enforcement and the military. At SHOT Show 2020, SafeShoot had a live demo of the system on display for attendees to take a look at and experience first hand.

In the precision rifle world, B&T industries is well known for their top quality bipods, monopod and rail accessories.  Starting with their monopod and moving to their V8 series then the PSR (to meet the needs of the similarly named USSOCOM rifle project) more recently the Cal and now the SUPER Cal B&T are not ones to rest on their laurels. 

5.11 Tactical brought an imperial ton of things to SHOT this year. Everything from footwear to headlamps to products for your vehicle to a new RUSH pack. The worst part is that the products are set to trickle out over the year, so don’t RUSH out to your favorite 5.11 store quite yet (see what I did there?).

I’m not going to lie, I have a special place in my heart for RISE Armament. I own all of their triggers (except for the original Gadsen, since I was not blessed enough to attend NRA Show last year). I also have their 1121XR Rifle in both .308 Win and 6.5 CM. Not only do they make the best triggers I have ever used (my personal opinion, of course), but their Director of Marketing is apparently wicked with a knife:

Cole-Tac has three new offerings for SHOT. First is the “Cheat Sheet,” a small plastic card that Velcros to a special mount that attaches to a scope tube.

SB Tactical has announced a few new products to the general market at Shot Show this week. There were a few new options from them with a new side-folding triangle brace for the AK and an aluminum-bodied FS1913 Brace. Let’s take a look at both options and see what’s new about them.

Crossbreed Holsters has always come to SHOT Show with some pretty innovative carry designs over the years. Their most famous holster the Crossbreed Supertuck is a very basic and solid holster. However, the Hybrid ST2 holster followed up on that with some more options like the adjustability of the angle as well as retention adjustment.

XS Sights has been providing affordable aftermarket sights for both pistol and rifle products for years.  2020’s SHOT Show was no exception to this.  XS sights arrived on the scene with two new big dot options for DXT series of handgun sights and XTI offset AR15/AKM sights.

SIG SAUER showcased a massive new lineup at SHOT Show 2020.  On display were both military and civilian variants of SIG’s ever-growing lineup of firearms and accessories.  Of all the firearms on display, here’s what’s new to the SIG lineup.

Custom Leather is a Canadian manufacturer of leather hunting and law enforcement accessories. Custom Leather is licensed to manufacture leather hunting accessories for Ruger and this year at SHOT 2020 they’ve released two Ruger Leather Magazine Pouches. One pouch is specifically designed to hold 3 BX-1 10-round rotary magazines while the other is a fully enclosed leather pouch for a BX-25 magazine.

Armaspec is known for its recoil management systems, especially their Stealth Recoil Spring. They also manufacture a variety of other AR products, including magwells, safety selectors (ambidextrous of course), extended mag releases, and so on. Today, at SHOT 2020 Armaspec’s booth was showing off their brand new Rifter Linear Muzzle Brake. Through the use of internal channels, the sound moves forward, away from the shooter. Importantly, it also sends the sound and concussion away from anyone standing off to the side. The ports on the top of the shield control the gas and help to both mitigate muzzle rise. Additionally, they direct recoil back toward the shooter. Gasses move through the aforementioned interior channels in order to delay their expulsion.

Shooters have been utilizing camera tripods as shooting rests for a while now. The camera industry, as well as the firearm industry, has made the jump to carbon fiber to make lighter and stronger components. We will take a look at a relatively new-comer to the firearm tripod market. Colorado Tripod and their Series 2 Millennium carbon fiber tripod.

In my previous How To Shoot Long Range articles I have discussed an overview of precision long-range shooting, the types of rifles used, and the types of optics most people use to impact steel and animals at “long range.”  In this installment, I will throw out a few of the commonly used accessories that I see being used by Precision Rifle Series (PRS) competitors and precision rifle enthusiasts.

Just in time for a SHOT Show 2020 premiere HIgh PERformance FIREarms LLC (Hiperfire) release a new line of triggers. The new line is called PHANTOM and is planned to be available in March of this year.

When the topic of dry firing comes up, there will often be a number of debates on how beneficial it is to the shooter. A number of things that can be improved from dry firing but often times people argue against dry firing for a few different reasons. I figured it would be helpful to dive into the good and bad aspects of dry firing and some tips when you get started. Let’s dive down the rabbit hole of dry firing.

Admit it. You want a laser-light combo. We all do, I mean they’re right in that sweet spot of cool and practical. Anyone who’s gone shooting at the range with a laser knows how useful of a training tool it is, and anyone who’s LARPed around their house at night knows how practical a weapon flashlight is. Or I suppose if you carry a handgun for your job, you know how functional both are. Enter the Streamlight TLR-2G.

The Scalarworks Leap 30mm mount prides itself on being one of the lightest scope mounts on the market. When putting the Leap/07 on a scale, it weighed in at just 5.48 ounces. This is fairly impressive compared to something like the Spuhr QDP series which weighs roughly twice as much. The Leap/07 mount incorporates the ClickDrive system from other red dot mounts where users can adjust the tension through a circular thumbwheel. These thumbwheels eliminate the need for QD levers to protrude off the side of the mount creating snag points.

With Christmas coming up, its time to look at various gifts for your fellow gun-loving shooting enthusiasts. A new gun is always a great idea but isn’t exactly possible for everyone’s budget. So, I figured it would be helpful to give ideas on another issue many shooters have. Typically when you start acquiring more firearms, it gets harder to keep things organized and easy to find. Last year, I decided to try and organize my gun safes up with organizers and it made a huge difference in keeping everything together. Over the years, I’ve tried a number of products and decided on three different organizing tools that don’t break the bank but make all the difference.

When we talk about upgrading our carry guns, there’s always the debate of swapping out various parts and carrying it daily on your person. Whether it’s a new set of sights, new barrel, magazine release, or aftermarket trigger, there will always be benefits and disadvantages with changing out parts on your carry gun. The biggest issue with changing parts on your concealed carry gun is the liability if you ever have to use it to defend yourself.

One of my many faults is the fact I tend to wear shoes way longer than I should. After 4 years of hard use, I finally retired my 5.11 boots and decided to look at a new pair less Tacticool. I had a few different options in mind but after trying a pair of Viktos Duty Gloves for cold range sessions, I thought they may be worth looking at. After trying out the gloves, I decided to check out a grey pair of Viktos  Johnny Combat Boots. After looking around I decided to go with the waterproof versions since it is rapidly becoming winter time here in Michigan.

The Kali Key is one of those products that makes me sad it even exists. Having a product that turns your semi-auto AR into a bolt action with a few simple modifications. Now at first, I was somewhat puzzled why anyone would want to switch their AR to a bolt action and pretty much wrote it off. A few months after initially hearing about the Kali Key, a friend of mine had one and ask if I wanted to use it for a few months to see how it worked. I gladly accepted the offer and let’s dive into what the Kai Key is all about.

My SIG Sauer P320 X-Five has been my main range handgun for about a year now. I’ve grown very fond of the striker-fired handgun but always wanted to try and bring it to the next level. I installed a Gray Guns adjustable flat trigger in my P226 Elite and it completely changed the feel of the gun for the better. Essentially the Soviet response to the H&K MP5 covert briefcase, the KGB invented this briefcase in response to a need to covertly carry an AKS74U while guarding high-level dignitaries. Unlike the MP5 briefcase, the AKSU case is designed so that it simply camouflages the rifle in plain sight, allowing a user to easily deploy the rifle by depressing a “trigger” which allows the briefcase to fall apart, leaving the rifle attached to a carrying handle that becomes part of the suitcase.

Previously only available to Government Clients, the Multicam only, M-Pact Agilite Edition is now available to commercial customers. A few weeks ago, I installed a Tactical Walls Modwall up and thought it worked great for hanging guns and gear. People seemed interested in the overall concept so I decided to check out a different company for comparison.
