Geissele Automatics announced today on Instagram that the Super Duty rifle won an LAPD contract for the SWAT and Tactical Surveillance Teams. LAPD SWAT has used the HK416 for several years, but it seems those days are ending. Let’s see what this new gun has to offer.

Bear Creek Arsenal has been turning out some quite unique and affordable hardware over the years, and they’ve been investing towards improvement. In this episode of TFBTV, Hop visits CMMG to shoot the newest variant of the Dissent, and the newest variant of the Mk47. But it’s the same gun. The Mk47 “Mutant” is a beefed up AR chambered in 7.62x39mm that takes AK mags, and the Dissent is CMMG’s compact action recoil system that allows for the use of folding stocks. Put them together and you get an AR that shoots 7.62x39mm, takes AK mags, and has a folding stock. So does the AK even still need to exist?

If you’ve always wanted to build your own HK416 derivative, Brownells has you covered. Their newly manufactured, assembled BRN-4 uppers are the perfect starting point. These uppers fit on a standard AR-15 lower receiver. 

TYPE-A is a premium/high-end AR-15 manufacturer based out of Grand Rapids, Michigan. They offer a variety of rifles and a few different calibers. German GunWorks is at it again! This time the project is a Heckler & Koch MR223A3C in Flecktarn Nacht. As many of you will know, Flecktarn (German pronunciation: [ˈflɛktaʁn]) is the official camouflage pattern of the “Bundeswehr” (German Army). Nacht means night in German, so we’re looking at a sort of MultiCam Black, but in a German interpretation. The MR223 A3C comes with an 11″ barrel length, and has undergone several hours of customization and the replacement parts list is extreme – passing beyond 6,500 €.

Hornady has a new .22-caliber Advanced Rifle Cartridge, the aptly-named 22 ARC. It joins the 6mm ARC in Hornady’s family of specialized cartridges for the AR platform. Right out of the gate, Hornady has three different factory loads available.

The National Association for Gun Rights won a major victory in their case defending forced reset triggers (FRTs). A district court in Texas just granted a preliminary injunction against the ATF that prevents them from treating FRTs as machine guns. However, this is not the end of the forced reset trigger fight.

Having just gotten back from my first-ever Tactical Games event, I wanted to put together a write-up on all of the gear I used down at the GTI in South Carolina. I will also be including the prices of all of the gear that I utilized as I feel like I spent a lot of money just to compete at this event.
