Reptilia Corp has a strong firearms industry pedigree, with some of their personnel carrying prior brand affiliations from a number of the top names in the business, such as Magpul and Crye Precision. They produce a spectrum of weapon accessories for a variety of platforms, including AR-15s, precision rifles, and more. The world of pistol caliber carbines have been rising in popularity steadily over the last 10 years, whether it’s for competition shooting, fun plinking at the range or for a cheaper alternative to high ammo costs. I have a few of them and it’s always a fun time taking these PCCs out for an afternoon range session. Springfield Armory recently decided to come out with their 16″ Saint Victor Carbine chambered in 9mm. I’ve had this new carbine for almost 2 months and after a decent amount of time with it, I feel like it certainly has some advantages that not all PCCs can offer. Noveske is bringing a new slightly more budget-friendly version of their rifles to the market with the introduction of the new Chainsaw. The new rifle lineup will feature forged receivers and will combine elements from their Gen 1 and Gen 4 designs for a rifle that is purpose-built for hard use but comes in at a more reasonable price point for some. In this article, I decided to take a closer look at a cool chunk that I recently installed on my AR15. I of course am talking about the Strike Industries Collar Adjustable Gas Block. Prior to working with this particular adjustable gas block, I had no hands-on experience with them. I finally had a chance to run out to the range the other day and get to know it a little more and I felt it was a good idea to share some initial thoughts and present the product as is. Caracal is a 15 years old firearms manufacturing company based in the capital of the United Arab Emirates, Abu Dhabi. While the name is now known worldwide, the company still faces some misconceptions about its true capabilities. TFB got the chance to enjoy a tour of the facilities of Caracal, and we believe our readers will appreciate it as well.

Strike Industries is well known for having some of the most popular aftermarket AR-15 accessories on the market and today they’ve just announced their new AR-10 Enhanced Lower Receiver Parts Kit (less trigger, hammer, disconnector, pistol grip, and trigger guard). The parts that are omitted are likely already going to have been selected by someone who is building their own AR-10 and the new Enhanced Lower Receiver Parts Kit from Strike Industries includes some upgraded basics that someone might want to add to their build.

AR pattern rifles are relatively new on the Russian market but are already presented in a wide variety of configurations, from pistol caliber carbines to AR-10 style rifles and everything inbetween. Most of them are largely just ARs, nothing special. However, one company, Souz-TM, makes pretty interesting AR-15 style rifles that are chambered in 5.45x39mm and take modified AK-74 magazines. The company offers a DI version of their modified AK-74 mag fed AR called STM-545 and a short stroke piston operated one called STM-415.

I recently had the chance to try out one of the newest small arms made in Ukraine – the UAR-15 rifle which was developed for the Ukrainian military. TLDR: These are really well-built AR-style rifles, and it’s a shame they are not likely to go on the civilian market anytime soon since all the production is now military-oriented.

After seeing a considerable number of Colt Canada C7 rifles and C8 carbines being used in Ukraine, I decided to investigate their origins reaching out to various Ministries of Defense to enquire if they had provided the rifles. The Canadian Ministry of National Defence not only confirmed that they had provided various small arms but their spokesperson was also kind enough to confirm some of the types of small arms and light weapons which Canada has transferred to Ukraine since February. 

Kentucky-based Anderson Manufacturing have announced three new additions to their A4 range of ARs. Building on their A4 series, the new firearms include a braced pistol, a carbine and a 20″ barrel rifle all fitted with quad rails. MSRP ranges from $669.99 for the pistol and carbine to $679.99 for the rifle.

Brownells just announced a new HK416-pattern upper receiver kit, the BRN-4. This piston-driven upper is compatible with standard AR-15 lower receiver groups.

Accurate 2520 is a smokeless powder with a long history in competition shooting. It has been used in competition rifle loads dating back to the days when .308 Winchester was still in common use. With the recent shortage of Varget, is Accurate 2520 worth a new look?

Patriot Ordnance Factory (POF-USA) has added 6mm Creedmoor as an option for their Prescott and Revolution semi-automatic models. They both use 22” barrels with 1:8 rifling, POF’s 3-port break, a 14.5” MMR handguard, a single-stage match trigger made by POF, and MFT pistol grip. The new 6mm Creedmoor Revolution (MSRP from $2,903) and Prescott (MSRP from $2,365) are available in bronze or black anodized finish.

In the world of ARs, there are countless options at almost every single price point imaginable. I oftentimes get accused of ignoring cheaper options and only going after high-end stuff which made me start to think. Is it possible to get a high-end accurate rifle set up without paying the $2,000+ price tag? Well, I decided to cough up my own money to check out if this is possible and what it takes to buy an almost identical factory Daniel Defense SOCOM rifle setup. Geisslele Automatics won a contract to supply AR-15 rifles to Customs and Border Protection (CBP). This new contract includes both complete rifles and upper receiver groups. Let’s take a look at the specifics of this contract, and what it might mean for Geissele’s future civilian offerings.

Daniel Defense, manufacturers of the now iconic DD MK18 5.56mm carbine and other long arms, have just announced the Daniel SoundGuard suppressor lineup. Outfitted with the now universal 1.375 x 24 mount threads, the SoundGuard silencers come with a direct thread mount, but can accept other industry-standard QD systems as well. Featuring a gas-flow dynamic design to minimize blow back, toxic gasses are pushed forward and not back into the shooter’s face.

A2 sights were a controversial design choice when they replaced the old A1 versions. They added complexity and made it possible to change the sight setting without a tool. While some users have maligned the A2, it is a very capable sight for the average civilian shooter.
