For the vast majority of my time, a belt-mounted holster is the way to go. Whether it’s inside or outside the waistband, a belt-mounted holster is a great option for everyday use. There are a decent amount of times though, I run into a situation where I want to carry a gun without having pants with a belt look. Whether it’s board shorts or a pair of sweat pants, having a lack of belt support can be a real issue if you carry a belt-mounted holster for the majority of the time. Glocks are very popular, a statement that can earn someone the title of “Captain Obvious”. It is still true, though. So it should not come as a surprise to anyone that the German gunmaker Umarex is giving this pistol its very special attention and opening up the air pistol and paintball gun market. The company was licensed by Glock to make copies of the gun for various non-lethal uses. It started last year with a gas-gun version. Due to the enthusiastic acceptance and the great demand, it was decided to develop further variants. The next two copies, Glock paintball and air pistols, were presented at the IWA.

We’ve seen a lot of knocked-out Russian vehicles and this is due to a large variety of infantry anti-tank weapons which have been used by the Ukrainian forces. Welcome back to another edition of Concealed Carry Corner. Last week we talked about creating a tier system instead of carrying everything on your person. This week we will be taking a look at some ways to make carrying concealed more comfortable. There are a number of situations when I personally remember being extremely uncomfortable either from a poor choice in clothing or not carrying the right handgun during a particular season. Some of you may have heard of the DryFireMag or the Trigger Reset Magazine. This cool little aftermarket training aid product is quite unique when compared to things like snap caps or laser training devices. One of the biggest problems people run into when they are doing dry-fire practice is that when using a single action only or striker-fired handgun, the slide needs to be re-racked every time for the next shot. A fairly common topic I get asked about is deciding what to carry on your body every day and what’s considered excessive. The last couple of weeks I have gone over what I personally carry and some of the accessories I like to carry on a daily basis. What the problem turns into is having everything you may need on your body which becomes extremely fatiguing over a full day. As time has rolled on from the heydays of AK ownership in the US (the mid to late ’80s and the mid-2000s), something that has always been around, whether in the back of a sportsman’s catalog, Gun Rags, or your favorite firearm accessory website, you can find AK recoil buffers for sale. A new American-made Glock magazine well has just hit the market from Edgar Sherman Design. The new ESD magwell aims to set itself apart from the rest of the Glock flared magwells by featuring an extremely purpose-driven design with the mission “to enhance a shooter’s capabilities using human-centered design.” The new magwell from ESD will be made from high-quality 6000 series aluminum and launch on February 11th, 2022.

The market for competition muzzle brakes is a vast one. Multiple manufacturers offer multiple styles, lengths, calibers, thread pitches, etc. Several years ago Alamo 4 Star patented and brought the Cowl Induction Muzzle Brake to market which according to users offered excellent performance. Now years later the TRYBE Cowl Induction Muzzle Brake has been licensed by the manufacturer and is being reintroduced to the market exclusively on Optics Planet.

Byrna Technologies produces civilian less-lethal products that fire .68 caliber projectiles. The flagship of the lineup is the SD model, which is laid out like a handgun. Each magazine contains an 8 gram CO2 cartridge and five projectiles. Byrna claims a 60-foot effective range for the SD.

New for this year from Umarex is the Airsaber Elite X2, a 450fps airbow that generates 130 ft-lbs of energy.  Accurate out past 100 yards, this airbow has serious power on tap.  The most unique feature, however, is that this airbow is double barreled, allowing one to rapidly fire two arrows downrange rapidly, one right into the other if you aim well enough.

XS Sights has expanded their lineup of night sights, armorer’s tools, and lever action scope mounts for 2022. The “Armorers Block for AR Platforms Gen 2” adds several improvements to the original armorer’s block. It works with both AR-15 and AR-10 upper and lower receivers, allowing them to be secured to a vise without damage. XS states that their block works with many varieties of .308 ARs, including AR-10, SR-25 and DMPS GII patterns. Pins to secure uppers to the block are included, along with a fitting screw for the AR-15 lower. The block is made from 6061 T-6 aluminum, and retails for $83.
