The RMRcc officially hit the firearms market in late 2020 and gave the micro-compact market a durable, reliable, and concealable option for concealed carriers. Weighing just one ounce, and featuring a battery life of up to 4-years, the Trijicon RMRcc shares many of the same great characteristics as its larger Type 1 and dual-illumination RMR brothers. Anyone who’s taken a look into purchasing any RMR will know that they don’t come cheap and that’s why Trijicon is excited to announce that between July 1st and September 30th, 2022, they will be offering a $100 RMRcc rebate for customers. Holosun have introduced their new SCS-MOS solar charging pistol reflex sight. We first reported on the SCS-MOS back at SHOT Show 2022, with Nick C. taking a look at the new sights. In April, Holosun announced that the SCS-MOS was coming soon in Green only due to “the red LED does not meet the battery life performance standards we have set with the SCS green.” The SCS-MOS has a 20,000-hour power reserve, weighs in at 1.3oz and is available with an MSRP of $435.28.

Primary Arms recently announced their new RS-10 Mini Reflex Sight, which is part of their ruggedized SLx optics lineup. The new SLx RS-10 miniature red dot has a 7075 aluminum housing with a 1x23mm reflex window that’s also night vision compatible. The SLx RS-10, Primary Arms’ first mini reflex sight has a reported battery life of 40,000 hours, no doubt assisted by the “autolive” function. Both the Trijicon ACOG series of riflescopes and the Aimpoint Micro red dots are optics that are highly sought after by people who like high-quality optics. Although both optics are individually very capable at their respective distances, combining the two gives the operator a more useable set of optics at a wider range of distances. Arisaka Defense just teased that they were in the process of producing new Aimpoint Micro Mounts for ACOGs.

Mossberg has just announced that they’ve redesigned their MC2c (compact) 9mm pistol to now include the ability to directly mount a red dot optic to its slide. The Mossberg MC2c was introduced in 2020 and was notable for its ultra-slim profile and stainless-steel black DLC coated slides which made it very concealable and a durable compact option for concealed carry. Now, like the recently released Mossberg MC2sc optic ready subcompact pistols, the MC2c line will feature optics-ready capability and a full co-witness with iron sights.

In this episode of TFB Showtime, Hop visits the Viridian booth to check out their new green dot pistol optics. The Viridian RFX series of green dot sights consists of three models; the smallest RFX15, the shmedium RFX25, and the full size RFX35. All three have shake awake, night vision settings, 30k hour battery life, and a 3 MOA green dot.

This is one that will get IDPA competitors excited. Holosun has just announced that they will be releasing two new compact pistol reflex optics intended for use with compact carry pistols. Compact carry optics are often great choices for concealed carry and duty use but are not optimal for competition use due to the small viewing window. To allow shooters to carry a similar optic to the one they compete with, Holosun has introduced the new EPS and EPS Carry pistol reflex optics which are essentially the same optic but feature slightly different dimensions optimized for either concealed carry or competition use.

The ROMEOZero has been quite a success in the budget red dot optics department but the line has always suffered from its small viewing window due to its slimmer design meant to work with micro-compact sized pistols. SIG Sauer has read the market and is now offering a full-size pistol variant of the ROMEOZero with the introduction of the ROMEOZero PRO 1x30mm red dot sight. This new optic should be an affordable and simple addition to any full-sized handgun.

Many people are often trepidatious about adopting a red dot into their regular carry or duty setup. While iron sights don’t require batteries and have been around nearly as long as the firearm has, red dots offer many advantages in a defensive or offensive situation that make them worth adopting into your normal rotation of firearms technologies. In an effort to make the adoption of red dots easier, Trijicon has just announced the introduction of their new Dual Defense Kit for the RMR. The Dual Defense Kit is intended to be a turn-key solution to adding a red dot to any RMR compatible pistol.

It is a scientific fact that the human eye is better suited for picking out the color green rather than the color red. So if that is the case, then why are most red dots, well, red? The simple fact is that red dots have a better battery life expectancy and are also more suitable for use with night vision devices. Despite all that, big optics companies like Trijicon, Holosun, and many more still choose to put out green dot sights, especially for their superior daytime visibility which is a top concern for many shooters. Viridian Weapon Technologies is proud to announce that they’ve joined the ranks of other producers of green reflex sights with their new Green Dot-Powered Viridian Reflex Sights dubbed the RFX.

The Aimpoint ACRO P2 has been a very highly sought-after pistol red dot for people here in the states. While I still haven’t formed a concrete opinion on the mailbox-shaped optic, others out there are already making accessories for the optic to enhance its durability. TangoDown Inc is now offering a new ACRO P2 Lens Guard Kit that helps to add an additional layer of protection as well as prevent annoying smudges that might result from racking the slide using the optic as a grip.

Welcome to TFB Weekly Web Deals 5! New firearms equipment can be expensive and a lot of the time our eyes are often quite bigger than our wallets. When it comes to optics, high-quality glass is just expensive and there is almost no way to avoid this, except for perhaps the methods that we’ll be using today. Demo, used, blemished, and refurbished are oftentimes sold by many firearms companies and online accessory retailers. Today we’ll be taking a look at some higher quality optics at the online retailer EuroOptic.com and give you guys a chance to pick some of these items at a vastly reduced price over their normal factory new pricing. All of these items are certified by Eurooptic as functioning but also may come with minor blemishes or may be missing certain parts like mounts, or scope rings. If you were all paying close attention to SHOT Show 2022, you’ll remember that Holosun introduced the SCS or Solar Charging Sight which uses the sun to power its diode and keep its internal 2-year capacity battery topped off. While red versions were initially proposed during SHOT Show 2022, Holosun just announced today that they would only be releasing the sight in a green variant at this time dubbed the SCS-MOS-GR. CUDA Optical Products is a new brand of weapon sights established by Zvetco, a Florida company specializing in biometric technologies. CUDA have launched their first red dot sight, the RX-795, at SHOT Show 2022 where I had a chance to take a look at it, and the reason I call it smart is that it is literally packed with high-tech features, like a smartphone.

Back in January at SHOT 2022, TFB covered the announcement of the new less expensive Aimpoint Duty red dot sight. The Aimpoint Duty shaves off a few features to make it more budget-friendly. When compared to the much more expensive Aimpoint Micro T1 and T2, the windage and elevation adjustments have been seated down flush with the body of the optic and the sight comes with protective flip-up caps with a rear transparent cap. Aimpoint has just announced that the Aimpoint Duty RDS is now shipping from their website, as well as their network of distributors and dealers across the nation.

Hawke Optics has a new Reflex Sight Wide View with Circle Dot reticle. While the sight will work for almost any firearm, Hawke recommends that you use it on your shotgun and pattern it so that the dot is on the center mass of the target – a Turkey for instance – and you’ve got a shotgun that can quickly get you on the bird. The sight features a 2-MOA red dot with 8 levels of brightness and a fixed focus at 9 meters / 10yds. Attachment is done via a Weaver rail. The price noted on their webpage is $189.

The folks at Shield Sights often don’t get the recognition they deserve. People forget to give credit where it’s due, me included. Shield Sights spend time and money developing what is now the standard footprint for slimline pistol red dots. The company is best known for these small optics, but those crazy Brits have something else up their sleeves. With the continued growth of competition-based shooting sports, especially among women, it made sense for Shield Sights to aim their next dot at that market. The Shield Sights RMSx competition red dot is designed specifically for competitive shooters, featuring an 80% larger window, as well as a few other features. However, it still shares that familiar footprint, meaning it can still be mounted on smaller carry guns.

This is a review of the new Shield Sights RMSx Red Dot. The abbreviation stands for Reflex Mini-Sight XL Lens, and TFB are one of the first to get them. It’s available in either a 4 or 8 MOA dot configuration and we have used both. Last year I used the SHIELD Reflex Mini Sight (8 MOA) for all of my IPSC Production Optics competitions, both on a Glock 17 and a Tanfoglio Stock III Xtreme. This division is now the second-largest, if you wonder why it caught up manufacturers’ interest. Apart from cleaning the lens, I didn’t even change the battery. Could the new Shield Sights RMSx be equally reliable? I’ve tested it for a few weeks, so most of the reliability part remains to be seen but in my world, Shield sights have a really good track record.

Back in 2019, I had a unique opportunity to visit the SIG Sauer Electro-Optics facility in Woodburn, Oregon where the talented team stationed there were working hard on SIG’s next quality optic – the ROMEO2. The ROMEO2 Red Dot Sight is a unique optic that incorporates a removable shroud that completely seals off the emitter and internals of the optic from the elements and adds an additional layer of protection from bumps and drops. SIG Sauer is now happy to announce that the ROMEO2 MIL-SPEC red dot sight is finally shipping. The announcement was made today (February 15th) via the SIG Sauer Instagram page.

Bul Optics, a division of Israeli Bul Armory, has added the third sight to their line of handgun red dot sights. The new RDS is called MS-3. We’ve previously reported about the launch of this sub-brand and their MS-1 and MS-2 sights. Let’s see what features are packed in this new red dot and what are the differences compared to the other two products in the Bul Optics catalog.

There are countless pistols around the country that are wearing a red dot. While some of them focus on competition or duty use, the SIG Sauer ROMEOZero focused on slimline pistols for concealed carry. The small package was a large success, especially with owners of P365 pistols. New for 2022, SIG is releasing a stronger, upgraded version. This is the new ROMEOZero Elite pistol red dot.

The Duty RDS sight is the latest product announcement from the Swedish company Aimpoint, with just days until SHOT Show 2022 opens. As the name indicates, the target customer group is Law Enforcement in need of a budget-friendly, yet durable sight. The Duty RDS has a 2-MOA dot, and the brightness intensity switch is controlled via a new digital keypad which can be operated with (or without) gloves.

When the Leupold DeltaPoint Micro was announced I was intrigued. To some, it seemed like an answer to a question that was never asked. However, I think these people were not asking the right question. The Glock DeltaPoint Micro version solves some interesting problems which we will dive into.

Thales has announced the introduction of their latest day/night sight, weighing 530g or 18.7oz, the XTRAIM combines a reflex red dot sight with thermal imaging technology. The sight can be mounted on rifles and light machine guns. It was developed a Thales’ dismounted optics establishment at Saint-Héand in Eastern France.

Reptilia is an American design and manufacturing company famous for optics mounts and similar accesories. They now have a new DOT Mount for the Aimpoint® ACRO P-1 and P-2 as well as the Steiner Optics MPS red dots. The mount is 1.93″ high and made out of Type III hardcoat anodized 7075 aluminum and nitrided 4140 steel. It’s made in the USA and weighs only 60 grams.

In 2021 the handgun competitions started again after a fairly quiet 2020. During the year I must have shot almost 100 stages with good quality IPSC dynamic shooting. I started out with a Glock 17 and then changed (read upgraded) to a Tanfoglio Stock III Xtreme in IPSC Production Optics. This division is now clearly the second largest after production, and I think it will continue to grow as competitors get older (poor eyesight) and discover the increased fun factor with red dots.
