It’s a 9x19mm with an overall length of 7.5″, in black stainless steel. The capacity is 9+1, which should be plenty enough if you know how to handle the Vortex Venom with its 6 MOA red dot.

Leupold's New DeltaPoint Micro Red Dot Sight
The market for red dots has exploded in the last few years, yet the perfect red dot still does not exist. Most of the red dots available on the market look very similar to each other and you wonder where the power of innovation went. It’s therefore interesting to welcome Leupold’s new product, the DeltaPoint Micro Red Dot Sight. The model is fully enclosed, mounts directly to the rear sight dovetail and is low-profile – it has the same height as factory iron sights. The intention is of course mainly for concealed carry and personal defense firearms. Above and below you can see it mounted to a Glock 22 Gen4.
Primary Arms SLx 1×20 Prism Scope with Green Illuminated Reticle
If you’re looking for a Red Dot you might exit the shop with a Green Dot in your bag. Primary Arms Optics has just added the option for a green reticle if that is – or becomes – your preference. The price for the green-illuminated ACSS Cyclops reticle in the SLx 1×20 prism optic is $239.99, and I’m not surprised that the model is their best selling optic.

Is the tiny Trijicon RMRcc worth $700?
In this episode of TFBTV, James Reeves puts the Trijicon RMRcc to a full review. Everyone was expecting Trijicon to introduce an ultra-compact micro red dot sight to compete with other options already on the market, but some did not expect this small, rugged red dot to use a proprietary footprint and cost $700. While many people were excited about the introduction of this new optic, some remain understandably skeptical. James goes over, in detail, the pros and cons of the brand new Trijicon RMRcc.
Aimpoint Releases Vickers Tactical Limited-Edition T-2 Red Dot
When it comes to red dot sights for fighting rifles, Aimpoint optics typically sit on the top tier. And when it comes to Aimpoint’s red dot models, the T-2 sits atop their Micro series‘ tiers. The T-2 enjoys the highest specs and most robust set of features of this small form factor product line and is a favorite for many shooters, including some high-level professionals. This red dot’s small size and weight, exceptional durability and reliability, and long battery life make it an excellent choice in a wide variety of shooting applications for which built-in magnification is not needed. That said, Aimpoint does also make separate magnifier units that can be installed behind their red dots in flip mounts, for greater flexibility and versatility. Longtime industry expert and former Delta operator Larry Vickers is also a proponent of this excellent little optic and has now partnered with the Swedish-based manufacturer to release a Vickers Tactical limited-edition version of the T-2.
The AcroBat Tool for Aimpoint Acro Red Dot Sights
The company SuppressorTools already has a few mentions here at TFB. Typically they develop and manufacture tools for today’s most popular sound suppressors, but this one has nothing to do with suppressors. A lot of people use red dots and the Aimpoint ACRO is one of the newer ones on the market. Changing the battery without leaving a lot of scratches can be a bit tricky, so they developed a tool to help with this – the AcroBat.
Meprolight's Advanced MEPRO MOR PRO
Meprolight have announced a new reflex sight, the MOR PRO. With a 160-degree field of view, various laser pointer options, a number of reticle options and an onboard LED for bright modes. The system is 15cm or 5.9in long and weighs in at 440g or 15.5oz.
Coming Soon: SIG Sauer ROMEO2 Mil-Spec Red Dot Sight
I recently had an opportunity to visit the SIG Sauer Electro-Optics facility in Wilsonville, Oregon just last week. While I was there I had the opportunity to get a first-hand look at a whole host of optics and how they are made. While the facility is relatively new, being opened up in 2014, the team there is hard at work developing and assembling new optics like the soon to be released ROMEO2 Red Dot sight.
Shield Sights Introduces The NEW RMS2 Red Dot Sight For Pistols
Shield Sights has just announced the second generation of their pistol red dot sights, the RMS2. According to the accompanying video, the RMS was designed for competitive shooting, while the RMS2 red dot sight was designed for defensive pistols. Interestingly, the RMS2 omitted the slide-out battery drawer in favor of removing the optic to replace the battery, while allowing the mounting screws to maintain the zero. The press release from Shield Sights follows:

TFB Review: Aimpoint CompM5s Red Dot Sight with Spuhr Mount
The Aimpoint CompM5 series of sights is a hybrid between the well-known models CompM4 and the Micro T-2. Is the CompM5s the best of two worlds? With the Aimpoint CompM5s in my possession since springtime, it’s now time to come to a conclusion. I bought it from a local shop and mounted it on my Heckler & Koch MR223.

Trijicon Fires Back Re: Lawsuit Settlement with Holosun
If you’re a regular TFB reader, you will likely already be aware of the lawsuit that Trijicon filed against Holosun earlier this year. In short, the lawsuit alleged that Holosun infringed on Trijicon’s “Optical Sight” patent, #US8443541B2. You will likely also know that the suit has already been settled and that Holosun recently released a statement about it. This statement was exceedingly brief and general, and mentioned that “…terms of the settlement were not disclosed.” Now with a September 8th press release, copied below, Trijicon has issued their own decidedly brief statement on the matter. There is one interesting point in it that seems to color the resolution with a markedly different perspective.
Holosun and Trijicon Announce Lawsuit Settlement
Competition in the firearms and firearms accessories market benefits consumers. It stands to reason, right? One of the best ways for a company to earn your business and make you a customer is to put out superior products. If they produce something that you want to buy more than you want to buy a different manufacturer’s comparable offering, they win your business – and in the process, you also win by virtue of improvements and innovations to which you gain access. Another option for a company to make themselves and their products more attractive is to sell them at a lower price point. Most consumers are mindful of their spending; they have to be judicious about how many of their dollars they are willing to relinquish and to whom for what. Buyers in general want good value – some of which will involve the quality and features of the product in question, but cost combines with other considerations to comprise a comprehensive value proposition. It’s not enough just to make a product; you have to sell it at a price that people are both able and willing to pay. Trijicon and Holosun both understand these precepts well, and they recently locked horns over how one another was going about their business.
TFB Review: Holosun 507K Mini Red Dot Sight
In the early days following their founding just seven years ago, Holosun’s optics sat firmly in the “budget” category. I think it’s fair to say that in general they were not particularly highly regarded. Although some shooters liked them just fine, others certainly did not, and at first, they didn’t appear to be a threat to unseat any titans of the gun glass world. However, as is usually the case with companies who survive the struggles of their first few years, they’ve made notable improvements since their humble genesis, and have taken some pointed lessons learned. Holosun in 2020 is not the same as they were in 2015, and today ever more shooters are becoming believers in products they wouldn’t have considered in the not-so-distant past. Consumers have taken notice, as have competitors, with Holosun’s pistol red dots, in particular, seeming to be gaining a fair amount market share.
