The folks at Hogue Grips and SIG SAUER have teamed up to bring you a new folding knife perfect for EDC duty. The new Hogue LEGION K320 is a folding pocket knife designed and produced to match the look and feel of SIG’s P320 XFIVE LEGION pistol. The new K320 knife will be available exclusively to Legion Members from SIG’s website. The K320 features a non-serrated blade with a tanto point, is made from stainless steel and uses an ABLE style ambidextrous locking mechanism.

Welcome to TFB Weekly Amazon Deals 9: Essential Gear Edition. This week I’ve gathered a handful of items that I consider to be “essential” when it comes to shooting or everyday carry duty. We’re lucky enough to have an absolutely staggering amount of high-quality products available to us in the gun industry but it’s always nice to have those things when we also get a bit of a discount (especially during these trying days). This week we’ve got a few lights, a knife, hearing protection, and even some sight-in targets. Are these the only things you’ll be needing at the range? No. However, I find myself using these items more often than not and every item on this list is something I more or less carry with me to the range every time,. Everything else just depends on what kind of shooting I plan on doing for the day.

Halfbreed Blades is a manufacturer of high-quality knives designed for survival and emergency situations. Their newest blade is the  MIK-03 Medium Infantry Knife made from Austrian K110 (D2) steel. The knife will feature a drop point as well as partial blade serrations. It was designed with the main focus being on durability within the battlespace.

In a recent search warrant executed by the 114th Precinct of the New York Police Department, several weapons, ammunition, and body armor were confiscated and the suspects arrested and charged with criminal possession of weapons. While this may be a frequent occurrence across the nation for police departments, what caught my eye with this snippet from the NYPD Instagram page was the grouping of novelty knives and non-firearms that were confiscated which made this search warrant look more like a raid on the Ninja Turtles hideout rather than a routine warrant execution.

Cold Steel has just announced that they will be adding a new series of tactical folding pocket knives to their extensive lineup of EDC knives. The new Recon 1 series of tactical folders from Cold Steel will feature 4 different blade types to choose from, all of which will be made from S35VN steel and come with a subdued black DLC coating for corrosion resistance.

If there is one thing I wouldn’t have anticipated as a potential release for 2021 it would have probably been this. The Leggenda (Legend) folding knife from WOOX takes the finely crafted Italian-American wooden styling and packs it around a high-quality high carbon D2 Mil-Spec steel folding knife. The knife will be made available nationwide and will be sold through authorized WOOX retailers, dealers, and the WOOX online store.

2020 and 2021 have and still continue to be a whirlwind of unpredictability and insanity. While we aren’t seeing the poles reversing or Yellowstone erupting and effectively ending the world, we have most assuredly been subjected to some sort of event that has caused the very way in which we conduct our daily lives to be altered for years to come. The events of the last year or so have made me think a lot about preppers and being prepared. I never considered myself to be a prepper but within the last year I’ve purchased cases of water, shelf-stable emergency food, and stocked up on all sorts of things I never would have imagined I’d find myself buying. Cold Steel has just released their newest offering to the EDC, hunting, and tactical knife community by offering a lower-cost version of their popular AD-15 sub-4-inch tactical folding knife – the AD-15 Lite. Like the Standard AD-15, the AD-15 Lite still uses the innovative Scorpion Lock Design and sports a 3.5-inch AUS 10A steel blade.

Established in 1751 in Suhl, Thuringia, J.P. Sauer & Sohn is the oldest existing hunting arms manufacturer in Germany. In celebration of their 270 year anniversary, the company has released a limited edition knife. This knife is made by German knife maker PUMA  to Sauer’s specifications. As noted by Sauer, like in the case of their firearms, creating lasting values for generations was the motivation for making this Sauer exclusive knife.

Welcome to Amazon Deals 2! Today is July 12th – National Etch A Sketch Day. What does an Etch-A-Sketch have to do with guns or gun gear? Well, to be completely honest, probably nothing. However, I was looking at one of these toys from my childhood in a store recently and it got me thinking about how fun these simple toys really are. For those who don’t know, the Etch A Sketch simply uses a glass or plastic sheet that gets coated with a very fine aluminum powder and then makes use of a pulley-driven stylus to “etch” an image onto the screen. Like any firearms-obsessed child, I drew plenty of guns, tanks, planes, and knives on my own Etch A Sketch. I spent countless hours on the road drawing every deadly instrument known to man while simultaneously trying not to let our station wagon’s ancient suspension destroy my aluminum powdered works of art.

Every time Johann Fanzoj publishes a press release telling about another finished project, it is guaranteed that you’ll see not just a deluxe firearm but a true masterpiece, an exquisite work of art created by the wizards of this 230-year-old company. Their latest creation, a set of weapons dubbed The Leopard, is no exception. This set consists of a bolt action rifle, a pistol and a knife, all engraved with the motifs of this graceful feline.

Have you ever been in the heat of battle and ran out of ammunition and thought to yourself “Man I really wish I had a bayonet!”? Or have you ever wished that you could blend the integrated design of the Mosin-Nagant carbines integrated bayonet on an AR-15? Ontario Knife Company has just released a new and innovative tool for the modern bayonet charger – the Retractable Bayonet. The Retractable Bayonet is OKC’s answer for when hand-to-hand combat becomes necessary.

Cold Steel has just introduced the latest series of their Leatherneck family of knives – the Mini Leatherneck. The Mini Leatherneck knives are made from a Kray-Ex grip combined with an 8Cr13MoV steel blade for easy sharpening. The new knives are supposed to retail for between $26 and $30 and will come with a sheath suited for each blade style.

The folding pocket knife is a near-ubiquitous piece of everyone’s everyday carry tools. Along with a flashlight, firearm, and a ballpoint pen, I almost never leave the house without a knife. While Cold Steel offers a wide variety of both EDC and purpose build fixed blade knives, their lineup continues to expand. This time Cold Steel has introduced their new Range Boss lock-back folding pocket knife for everyday use.

Shield Arms has published a press release announcing the launch of their sister knife company called  Norden Knives. The new company is located in Montana and their knives are made in-house. Norden means North in Old Norse and the n-shaped symbol of their logo is inspired by the Nordic rune Uruz. The company states that its vision is “to establish Norden Knives as the premiere knife supplier that is still obtainable to the everyday outdoorsman“.

Right on the heels of their latest knife announcement, Cold Steel is now adding a new folding blade to their Click-N-Cut Series. The original Click-N-Cut was a multi-bladed option for people who needed maximum blade versatility in a compact package. The original, however, was limited to a fixed style blade with a heel-mounted blade release and included a sheath that could carry the two spare blades. Now the Click-N-Cut will be offered in a folding style knife with spare interchangeable blades.

I have a drawer that has rapidly filled up with folding EDC knives over the years as I’ve tried out just about every design and style imaginable. Well, here’s one more that might end up in the drawer for eventual rotation – the Buck Knives 040 Onset folding EDC knife. The 040 Onset will be available beginning this August and will feature a 3-3/8″ drop point blade without serrations.

EDC Knives are sort of a side hobby for me as of late. I quite enjoy all the different designs and mechanisms that go into EDC and other folding knives. Cold Steel has some great affordable knives on the market and they’ve just introduced their new Crawford 1 Flipper EDC Knife. The Crawford 1 Flipper is a 3-1/2 folding leaf spring locking knife made from 4034 Stainless Steel and weighs just 4.1 ounces.

Of course we all know that SIG SAUER is renowned for producing a host of fine firearms, but that’s not all they do. They augment their pistol and rifle offerings with a host of complimentary products. Many of these are directly gun-related, like optics, ammo, and suppressors. SIG has also previously offered some folding knives, which you can use to compliment your handgun and round out your everyday carry. Currently available knife options include two models from Kershaw, and one with Hogue that’s Legion-member eligible only.

Fans of the legendary Bowie knife will have a new, modern option available from cold steel with the introduction of the Laredo Bowie. This knife is made of CPM 3V steel, features a G10 handle, and a bronze finished guard.

WOOX is popular for making some finely crafted high-performance outdoor gear like their gun stocks and knives. They’ve just released their latest renditions of the AX1 axe and Rock62 Full Tang Knife with the introduction of the Phantom Black Editions. These new additions to the AX1 and Rock62 lineup take you away from the traditional WOOX look and feature a more streamlined blacked-out style more suited for a tactical look.

When the new automatic knives from Microtech called Scarab II and Mini Troodon were released last year we published an article to keep you updated. This is still The Firearm Blog, but from time to time we take the liberty to widen the subject and write about everyday carry knives and other objects that may be of interest for gun owners.

I don’t know if there is anyone out there like me but I absolutely abuse the hell out of my knives. Not just the daily carry ones but every blade I have has probably seen more than its fair share of abuse. With that being said, I’m constantly needing to sharpen my knives on a regular basis and luckily Lansky has come out with a brand new knife sharpening kit for 2021.

Knife collectors will have a new set of knives from Buck Knives that feature the best that the company has to offer from some of its earliest designs but with some of its more modern touches. The 2021 Legacy Collection is meant to showcase both the history and future that Buck Knives has going for it with some of their best pieces.

Two really great 9mm handguns and a large out-the-front automatic knife – that’s the subject for our Photo Of The Day. It’s interesting to study these Czech handguns and the difference in design. About a month ago, I had the Laugo Arms Alien in my hands and we decided to disassemble it to learn more about the design. I’m so eager to take one to the shooting range, but this one was sold and I assume the owner would like to take the first few rounds with it.

Having a small hand axe as a part of your backpacking or camping gear is a great idea. Not only are you getting a lot better bang for your buck when compared to even a large knife, but you’re also saving your knives from a lot of touching up later. Halfbreed Blades has just released their newest CRA-02 Compact Rescue axe made from a single piece of K110 (D2) Tool Steel.

TOPS Knives was founded in 1998 with the sole goal of creating some of the highest quality knives available. TOPS Knives draws from the knowledge of both operators in the military and civilian outdoor professionals to create their blades. TOPS has just released two new blades, the Brush Wolf Nessmuk style knife and the High Impact full-tang hatchet.

A Texas Senator has recently introduced a companion resolution to one previously filed (HCR1) that would have made the Bowie Knife the official State knife of Texas. Despite the previously introduced resolution passing with bipartisan support in 2019, Governor Greg Abbott vetoed the resolution because of a glaring historical error contained within.
