Sadly, it seems that Windham Weaponry is closing its doors for good. They broke the news in a statement posted on their website on Monday, September 11, 2023. They will cease taking web orders on September 12th.

The United Kingdom has selected the Knight’s Armament Company KS-1 as the new individual weapon for the new Ranger battalions and elements of the Royal Marines Commandos. The requirement for the new rifle was released back in August 2021.

If you always wanted to own a Geissele rifle but could never afford one, then the new El Jefe rifle must be interesting to you. This rifle is made by Geissele Automatics but it’s sold under the ALG Defense brand (Geissele’s sister company). With an MSRP of $1,199, the El Jefe rifle is $900 cheaper than the most affordable Geissele-branded rifle. The differences between the El Jefe and Geissele rifles of comparable configuration are in materials, manufacturing techniques and finishes.

New from POF-USA is their “Dragoon Series” Renegade+ rifle.  The key feature of the Dragoon series is a 13.75″ barrel with a pinned and welded Dead Air KeyMo brake to make it a stampless gun.  13.75″ will be ideal for home defense.  The barrel length affords enough velocity to the 5.56 round while trimming off a few inches.  This makes the rifle more compact and better balanced and affords the use of a Sierra 5 or other KeyMo-compatible silencer/adapters.  The Dragoon Series is available at POF-USA “Black Label” dealers.  POF USA does not have an MSRP listed yet on their website for this SKU, but prices currently range around $2000 MSRP for other Renegade+ rifles.

Titanium nitride (TiN) coating is wear-resistant, inert, and most importantly for firearms – reduces friction. While TiN is most commonly found on cutting tools, punches, dies and injection mold components for improving tool life, it’s also used in the firearms industry for many of the same benefits but it’s often cited as making firearms withstand the normal wear between sliding firearms components. TiN coatings are also notable for being extremely thin compared to some other durability coating methods and thus it’s often used as a purely decorative finish as well. Luth-AR has just announced the introduction of their new TiN-coated complete AR-15 Bolt Carrier.

Palmetto State Armory released its Sabre line of premium AR-15 rifles a short while back. This past week they added their new Sabre AR-10 available in both forged and billet models with barrel lengths ranging from 13.7in (348mm) to 20in (508mm), featuring Springco upgrades like the gas rings, extractor spring, and ejector spring as well as a Radian Raptor charging handle and Talon selector. The Sabre AR-10 comes with a lot of the aftermarket upgrades people install in their rifles, right from the factory.

Stag Arms has a new series of limited edition AR-15s in various colors. The Special Tactical Rifle Makeup ( SPCTRM) incorporates olive drab green, flat dark earth, and gray colorways. These rifles have several other upgraded features besides the color.

Rhineland Arms and Global Defense made a splash at SHOT 2023 with their R2000 rifle chassis. That kit builds a reduced-scale WA2000 clone with AR-15 internals. A big brother is now in the works, with a .308 Winchester-size version on the way.

I met VK Integrated Systems at the last SHOT Show last January. They make a smart stock, called the SIOS-C, that connects to ATAK. Well, they recently donated two of their prototype firearms, the NGSW-R and NGSW-AR to the Cody Firearms Museum.

Devil Dog Concepts came up with an AR-10 version of their Hard Charger AR-15 side charging handle. Like the Hard Charger, the new  Devil Dog Concepts HC-10 is a drop-in product that replaces the standard charging handle providing a left-side non-reciprocating charging handle while retaining the regular AR charging method.

In this episode of TFBTV’s GunCon 2023 coverage, James speaks with Creative Arms, an Iowan boutique AR-15 manufacturer, about their integrally suppressed .300 Blackout AR-15. This carbine is different than many other integrally suppressed AR-15 options out there in that the Creative Arms uses a removable baffle core that can be swapped, but perhaps more importantly, it can be removed while the purchaser waits for their suppressor paperwork to clear or if the gun is being brought to a place where a suppressor is not permitted. How…creative?

Traditional captive two-stage triggers have a give and take relationship between pull weight and crispiness because one part controls both stages. However, with the ICONIC trigger, this issue is a thing of the past. It features two independent stages with separate mechanical components, eliminating the compromise.

James Reeves is at GunCon 2023. In this episode, James speaks with Stern Defense about their innovative new quick-detach AR-15 stock: The RAB-AD (Rapid Attach Buttstock Adapter). This stock comes off your AR-15 and goes back on in one second, allowing your rifle to be stowed in much smaller and flatter spaces than a regular AR-15 or even a folding-stock model AR-15, all while using your same buffer tube hardware. And, the kit costs a little over $100.

KE Arms has just announced the introduction of the new 20 Inch WWSD Complete Upper. This new upper configuration combines a lot of the same aspects you’d find in the 16″ version, but with a barrel length that really gives the 5.56 NATO cartridge some extra legs. The new configuration is centered around a 20-inch Ballistic Advantage lightweight Modern Series barrel but also comes complete with a lot of the neat lightweight features people loved from the original WWSD project. Or, if you’d prefer, as a complete rifle.

Back at NRAAM 2023, TFBTV’s Hop and I had a chance to check out the subtly launched Anderson Manufacturing AM15 Dissipator Carbine. The Anderson Dissipator carbine was an unexpected hit at the Primary Arms Range Day 2023, and NRAAM 2023 with, Hop, myself, and a couple of other writers having a blast running magazine after magazine through the retro-inspired rifle. Last week we talked about a recent upgrade that was released for the KelTec P17 pistol. The new optics-ready slide is a cool addition to the pistol’s capabilities but I’m still debating on whether or not it’s a solid recommendation from me as it puts the pistol on the same price scale as the much more reliable and durable SIG P322 or even the classic Ruger Mark IV Lite. If the price were a bit lower for the entire package, I’d say it would be 100% worth picking up – so maybe wait for a sale or something because it’s certainly a lot of fun for a compact lightweight 22LR pistol. Today we’re going to combine the rimfire world with the world of clone builds. As you might have guessed from the title, today we’re talking about the DPMS Model RFA2-KIT or “Kitty Kat.” This pint-sized AR was originally intended to be used by SWAT entry teams which explains the ridiculously short 7″ barrel – even if you’re losing a lot of velocities, 5.56 has more than enough speed left to cause some serious damage at ranges you’d typically encounter baddies at indoors. However, if you’ve built one of these, you know you’re not training to use it for a planned entry – you’re probably mag-dumping it like the rest of us – and that’s expensive. Today we’re going to go over some of my recent experiences combining both Hop’s clone of the DPMS Kitty Kat, as well as CCMG’s latest iteration of their BRAVO 22LR conversion kit – this winning combination makes playing around with the Kitty Kat just a tad bit less expensive, and a whole lot more fun.
