Hello and welcome back to another edition of The Rimfire Report! This ongoing series is all bout the rimfire firearm world and its many firearms, ammunitions, shooting sports, and history! Last time on The Rimfire Report we took a look at the very budget-friendly Heritage Arms Rough Rider 22 caliber rimfire revolver. That little revolver is apparently one of the best-kept secrets of the rimfire world as many of you have had similar enjoyable results as I did while shooting the revolver. However, when it comes to modern arms and training, nothing is quite as ubiquitous or common as America’s rifle, the AR15. Pete’s September 3rd SILENCER SATURDAY featured a full-auto CMMG 22LR AR-15 conversion kit. Humorously enough, I had already planned to do a review and overview of the CMMG Bravo 22LR AR-15 Conversion Kit for Rimfire Report and if it hadn’t been Labor Day weekend, you all would have gotten a double dose of CCMG rimfire goodness. Unfortunately, our overview today will be a much milder, semi-auto look at the conversion kit but the same warning that Pete aired last week will be aired here – be careful, this conversion kit is sure to bring a smile to your face.

Since colonial times, Americans have held shooting competitions with rifles used for militia service. These “service rifle competitions” have grown and become formalized into their own sport. To help alleviate some of that crowded space on your favorite firearm, GrovTec has just announced the introduction of their new space-saving G-Stop reversible hand stop that only takes up 2″ of real space and can be flipped 180 degrees to serve as either a hand stop or a barricade stop depending on what your specific flavor of shooting calls for.

Smith & Wesson has expanded their lineup of M&P 10 rifles with the new Volunteer X series. These new models add upgrades to the base M&P 10 Sport model. They pair a 16″ barrel with an overall weight of under nine pounds.

Liberty Suppressors is probably most well known for their high-end suppressors like the Behemoth, Goliath, and Leonidas TI. However, Liberty Suppressors also specializes in custom suppressor designs for just about anything that shoots a projectile out of its business end. If you’ve got a gun, they can probably make it quieter! Liberty Suppressors has just announced the introduction of their latest suppressor design, the Leonidas Gen 2 centerfire rifle suppressed system for the AR-15 rifle.

LMT Advanced Technologies and LMT Defense have teamed up to offer LMT AT ION 30 rifle suppressor buyers the eligibility to receive a free LMT lower receiver. Armaspec have recently released the third generation of their Sound Mitigation Buffer or SMB. This AR-15/AR-10 buffer assembly has a captured recoil spring that does not contact the internal surface of the buffer tube thus resulting in smoother and quieter operation of the action. Let’s take a closer look.

If you’re looking for the best in terms of accuracy out of an AR platform, one of the first things you should take a look at is your barrel. Some barrels are inherently better than others and aside from the type of ammo you’re going to need for it, there are a few other considerations on an AR that will aid in accuracy. However, a properly matched receiver set can also be a boon to accuracy by providing the user with extremely tight tolerances, and a near-perfect fit between the upper and lower. Unbranded AR has just announced that they’re bringing back their Billet Receiver Sets due to popular demand.

Foxtrot Mike released their 16″ FM15 upper receiver/rife a couple months back in spring and customers immediately requested a shorter barreled version of it. The company has just introduced the new FM15 12.5 upper receiver! The new 12.5-inch upper is very similar in nature to the 16″ version in that it still retains its non-reciprocating charging handle, low-mass bolt carrier, nested recoil spring assembly, and interlocking gas key and proprietary patent-pending integrated recoil system. This is the first time we have images from the talented photographer Eli Duckworth known as  1776_duck on Instagram. With around 32,000 followers, he’s got a great portfolio, and we encourage you to take a look. Here you’ll see a few photos of an MK-18 Mod 0 inspired SBR that he assembled.

The .17HMR is one of my favorite rimfire calibers. The hot 17 caliber rimfire cartridge is both supremely accurate, and light recoiling making it a good step up from .22LR in terms of both inherent accuracy and range. Bear Creek Arsenal is following up the success of their .22WMR AR-15 upper with the release of the new BC-15 17HMR Billet Upper Receiver to give rimfire enthusiasts access to yet another popular rimfire cartridge that they can plink, hunt, or target shoot with by simply slapping it on an AR-15 lower receiver.

There’s a limited edition LWRC/OTG IC-A5 Bazooka Green rifle incoming. The setup was featured in the video “Urban Combat Survival CQB and Room Clearing” made by Garand Thumb and Orion Training Group. Manufactured by LWRC, this 5.56 rifle is only going to be available through Louisiana Firearms,  LLC. The price is $2,880.

Brownells shook up the retro scene when they introduced a modern clone of the original AR-10, called the BRN-10. It hearkened back to the very rare original Armalite but made it affordable and accessible to the average man. Sadly, it was discontinued, but it is still a unique rifle that deserves a deeper look.

Uintah Precision, a company primarily known for making bolt action AR uppers and complete firearms, has entered the muzzleloader market. However, what they make is not your great-great-grandfather’s muzzleloader. The new Uintah Precision Modern Sporting Muzzleloader can be easily mistaken for one of their AR bolt guns, but if you look closely, you’ll notice a ramrod over the barrel!

Bear Creek Arsenal has rapidly expanded its available rifle and pistol lineup for the American firearms enthusiast. In their latest newsletter, they announced they would introduce three new lines of AR platform rifles to help shooters find something that will fit their needs. These new lines will include the all-around Fieldmaster, the long-range oriented Targetmaster, and the Huntmaster – I’ll let you guess what that one is marketed for. More details on each new AR platform line are down below.

One of the purposes of TFB’s Photo Of The Day is to broaden the audience for the excellent work done by professionals from combat photography to still and action photography of firearms. A perfect picture may take everything from a split second to months of planning, and it would be sad to see that kind of work go unnoticed. Considering that these images were taken onboard the Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Kearsarge (LHD 3) in the Atlantic Ocean it makes the challenge to produce high-quality images even harder. Above you can see a really good image of the M27 Infantry Automatic Rifle with the Trijicon VCOG 1-8×28 rifle scope. For August of 2022, Aero Precision has released a new builder set for those looking for a fresh new AR-15 build to start on. The month of August features the new M4E1 Desert VTS (Vietnam Tiger Stripe) Cerakote builder set. This builder set will come with an M4E1 Enhanced Upper Reciever, 15″ Enhanced Gen 2 M-LOK Handguard, and an M4E1 Lower Reciever. Each part contained within the builder set has been professionally finished in Desert VTS by folks at Nevada Cerakote.

Kentucky-based Anderson Manufacturing have announced their new range of AR-based precision rifles. Building on their AM-15 series, the new rifles are aimed at competition shooters and the four iterations are priced at under $1,000 MSRP. All of the rifles are chambered in 5.56x45mm and come with Schmid Tool two-stage triggers and a variety of furniture options and barrel lengths. Full details on the new line of rifles are below.

A sunny trip to Cyprus is what’s on offer in today’s Photo Of The Day. We have soldiers from the RAF Regiment conducting Ground Extraction Force (GEF) exercises as part of an ongoing Joint Personnel Recovery which will continue as they return to the U.K. Whilst deployed, 1 Squadron Force Protection have continued to uphold their regular training, including maintaining their annual competency on the L129A1 Sharpshooter Rifle. The L129A1 is a semi-automatic high-precision designated marksmanship rifle.

It seems that 2022 is bringing back the heat regarding AR10 rifles. Type-A Rifle Co/BG Defense joins the fray with their new Ambi Billet AR10 line of rifles. The new line of Type-A rifles will come with the same high-end components and construction that Type-A is well known for. Type-A is also proud to announce that most of the components in the new Ambi Billet AR10 rifle lineup will be made in-house from their facility in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Brownells and Sons of Liberty Gun Works (SOLGW) have teamed up to introduce an AR-15 parts kit called  M4-EXO3 Rifle Build Kit. This kit is made by SOLGW and will be available only through Brownells. It includes everything needed to assemble an AR-15 with the exception of the lower receiver.

The KP-15 monolithic polymer lower receiver has been a great success. The KP-15 provides regular citizens with an affordable and fairly durable lower receiver that is also lightweight to boot and reduces the total number of individual parts needed to complete an AR-15 rifle. In a bit of recent news, GWACS Armory has made the decision to sue Russel Phagan, Brownells, and Shawn Nealon (inventor of the original CAV-15) for alleged NDA and trade secret violations in regards to the KP-15. In total, 5 different parties are being sued by GWACS. In response, Russell has made the decision to address these allegations both publically and in official court documents with supporting documents that have been filed and are now public. Russel has given TFB permission to publish these documents in the hopes that they will shed light on the situation so that the KP-15 project, which he believes directly supports the rights of all free people to be armed, can continue. Faxon Firearms has just announced the introduction of two new rifles to their Summit Sentinel lineup of AR-10 pattern firearms. The new Faxon Sentinel rifles are chambered in .308 Winchester and 6.5 Creedmoor. Both new rifles will retail for just under $2,000 and come standard with billet aluminum receivers, heavy fluted barrels, Faxon M-LOK handguards, and ambidextrous controls.
