KE Arms has come to the fore in recent years as one of the most recognizable names in the firearms industry. Most of this is due to their recent work on the WWSD 2020 rifle, however, many including myself have come to appreciate some of their other components for their durability and quality.  In an email sent out on the 22nd of February, KE Arms announced that they had just finished their large run of Chrome Bolt Groups and would be selling off the remaining blemished chrome bolt groups for a reduced price until supplies run out.

Some of you may have heard of the DryFireMag or the Trigger Reset Magazine. This cool little aftermarket training aid product is quite unique when compared to things like snap caps or laser training devices. One of the biggest problems people run into when they are doing dry-fire practice is that when using a single action only or striker-fired handgun, the slide needs to be re-racked every time for the next shot. Not so with the DryFireMag. The DryFireMag automatically resets your trigger for you so that you can continue to practice your dry fire uninterrupted! Recently, at GAOS 2022, the company announced that they would be coming out with new DryFireMag models to encompass more handguns and even AR-15 rifles.

More specifically, The Tactical Games has grown from a small, invite-only event to a national schedule of events that draws in major sponsors like Magpul, Firearms Legal Protection, and Staccato. Hundreds of competitors gather for a weekend of hard work and camaraderie. At the heart of it all, however, is the gear. Durable, lightweight gear is what’s most popular, and American Defense Manufacturing just entered a new option built specifically for The Tactical Games. This is the new UIC Lightweight Tactical Competition Carbine.

Released a little less than a month ago, at SHOT week, is the new Enhanced Series 9mm Bolt Carrier Group by ODIN Works. I think it would be more correct to call this part a bolt rather than a bolt carrier group because there is no bolt carrier per se, however, I’ll stick to the manufacturer product name in the article. Enough nitpicking, let’s see what features the new ODIN Works Enhanced Series 9mm Bolt Carrier Group packs.

SilencerCo have announced the Gas Defeating Charging Handle, with the aim of reducing the amount of gas which blows back into the shooter’s face when firing a suppressed AR-15. The new ambidextrous charging handle incorporates a gas seal to prevent gas from leaving the receiver through the charging handle slot. The GDCH has an MSRP of $114.00.

The perfect magazine doesn’t exist, does it? Or do we have the best solution just in front of us, as presented by FightLite Industries and their MCR Dual-Feed Upper? At $6,399.99 it’s one of the most expensive uppers I’ve ever encountered, but that didn’t stop a friend from buying one. It’s pretty cool to have a belt instead of a magazine, I can tell you!

Maxim Defense was probably the company with the most new products released at SHOT Show 2022. They have updated their line of MD-15 rifles, introduced an entirely new suppressor product line, released a new AR10 pattern rifle called MD11 … pretty much everything in their booth was new. Let’s take a look at the list of new Maxim Defense products and see how the company describes them.

Anderson Manufacturing is a major producer of AR-15 parts and complete guns. In fact, they made 700,000 lower receivers last year alone. Several new models in their AM-15 line were on display at SHOT Show 2022. Most notably, Anderson is back in the AR pistol market. They have not produced pistols in the last few years, but their new family of AR pistols is bringing that era to an end. These 5.56 and .300 Blackout pistols are available now direct from the manufacturer. Anderson does not name their complete guns (other than a part number), so we will be referring to them by their features.

Desert Tech unveiled their new Quattro-15 lower alongside a new Quadmag-53 at SHOT Show 2022.  Using a quad-stack design, the Quattro-15 paired with the QuadMag-53 looks to bring more capacity to your favorite AR-15 upper.  Desert Tech was kind enough to show me all the features of their new lower and magazine on the floor at SHOT Show 2022.

Shown for the first time at SHOT Show 2022 was WEE1 Tactical’s JR-15 rifle.  It’s designed to be a perfect scaled-down replica of the AR platform with youth shooters in mind.  I had a chance to sit down with Eric from WEE1 Tactical to talk about the new AR-pattern 22lr platform.

At SHOT Show 2022, Dead Foot Arms released several new products and had head-turner builds displayed in their booth like their Killdozer AR, themed after  Marvin Heemeyer‘s bulldozer. I am not sure how a bulldozer blade shaped muzzle device will perform. Is it a blast diverter, flash hider or maybe a flash enhancer?! Go ahead and name it in the comments section.

Daniel Defense unveiled their new RISIII rail alongside new ambi lowers at SHOT Show 2022.  FDE versions of the new RISIII rails were seen on four Daniel Defense rifles that will ship with the new lower receivers.  Here’s a closer look at the newest generation of the rail interface system from Daniel Defense.

During every gun rush, it always goes through my head the amount of things I should have bought while I could have gotten them. There’s a number of things that are trickling back into stock so it’s never a bad idea to stock up on things you need before products either become tough to find or elevated in price. Let’s take a look at a few guns and gear to buy now rather than later since they are getting back into stock.

The .458 SOCOM is a member of the “thumper” family. The Thumper concept comes from the great Jeff Cooper. A larger caliber bullet out of a rifle-length barrel. When Bear Creek Arsenal offered up a review, obviously I was going to request it be one of their .458 SOCOMs. Bear Creek is known for making affordable options for the gun world. Having a more affordable price point does not change the review, just gives it a perspective. How well is it made, and of course does it perform? Is shooting a “thumper” enjoyable. Well, I can tell you upfront, it is a lot of fun. Let’s take a look at Bear Creeks 458 SOCOM upper.

I was recently given a drop-in trigger and asked to take a look and see if I had any thoughts. That is where the RMT Nomad and I met. The interesting thing about this trigger is the trigger shoe pivots. It both rotates and swings side to side slightly. RMT calls this “Pivot Technology”. The pivot will allow perfect indexing consistently through different shooting positions. This is new and very different. Clearly a product I want to play with and put through some testing. In this episode of TFBTV, Hop takes a look at the new Smith & Wesson M&P15 Tactical II. This is the first S&W AR to fully adopt the changes in the civilian AR market of the last 20 years. S&W is slow to change, but this rifle represents a strong endorsement of the modern 16″ mid-length gas, medium profile barrel setup. This is a very versatile rifle, but given the price point, it might be a little bit lacking out of the box.

Elftmann triggers are pretty sweet. I got to check one out a few years ago. In fact, that was the beginning of my being a self-proclaimed trigger snob. There was no way I was going to pass up reviewing their new SOCOM trigger. I was hoping they had a “more-better” product, not a slightly different newer same old. I found that the Elftmann SOCOM is not just adjustable, but VERY easily adjustable. None of the finding the microscopic hex head with the world’s smallest Allen wrench nonsense. I was pumped until it was stolen, kind of. More on that later.

SIG SAUER produces some of the most well-known models in the firearms world. In recent years, their P320 and P365 handguns have taken the market by storm. Some of their older models, like the P226 and P229, have been widely hailed for many years. Many of their rifle-caliber guns, like the MCX series, are also beloved by plenty of shooters. However, they also make some guns that don’t get quite as much recognition or attention. SIG’s M400 series of AR-type rifles and rifle-caliber pistols seem to be a bit less well-known. When I ask my gun buddies what they first think of when I say “SIG SAUER”, M400s tend to be down the list or absent from it. Curious as to why, earlier this year I set about getting to know one of the newer M400 series offerings, the Predator. I ended up liking it, and have followed up by testing another new M400 AR: the Switchblade.

California has seen its fair share of ups and downs when it comes to the availability of certain arms and even ammunition within the state for private citizens. Despite the struggles, companies like Rock River Arms are doing their best to get firearms that fit within the stringent guidelines of the state to their customers. The new Rock River California Compliant rifles are here to serve that purpose and come in a variety of configurations suitable for the modern-day rifleman.

The concept of the AR-15 Dissipator rifle dates back to the Vietnam War and lives on today from a few manufacturers, including Palmetto State Armory. SilencerCo is proud to announce the introduction of their new premium AR-15 stripped upper receiver, the SCO15. The SCO15 Upper Receiver is made from 7075 billet aluminum and features full mil-spec compatibility to match with the already existing SCO15 lower receiver so that customers can have an all-SilencerCo receiver set for their AR-15 build. SilencerCo normally specializes in the manufacturing of suppressors but in recent years the company has come out with a number of other firearms-related products like the aforementioned SCO15 components as well as the very unique Maxim 9 9mm pistol.

It seems that moving to Wyoming was the breath of air that stoked the Stag Arms fire. Two new rifles have joined the company’s lineup of Stag-15 AR-patterned rifles. Both available in left- or right-handed configurations, these are the new Stag-15 Covenant rifles chambered in 6mm ARC.
