Russian AR-15s that take Modified AK-74 Magazines

AR pattern rifles are relatively new on the Russian market but are already presented in a wide variety of configurations, from pistol caliber carbines to AR-10 style rifles and everything inbetween. Most of them are largely just ARs, nothing special. However, one company, Souz-TM, makes pretty interesting AR-15 style rifles that are chambered in 5.45x39mm and take modified AK-74 magazines. The company offers a DI version of their modified AK-74 mag fed AR called STM-545 and a short stroke piston operated one called STM-415.

Fire Folded: Law Tactical AR Internal Carrier (ARIC)

Law Tactical is primarily known in the gun world for their AR-15 side folding stock/buffer tube adapters. While their side folding mechanisms make the AR-pattern guns much more compact for transportation, you have to deploy the stock to allow the action of the gun to cycle because as you know, part of the AR-15 rifles’ action (recoil spring and buffer) is inside the buffer tube. Well, the company now has a solution for that with their new AR Internal Carrier (ARIC) which is basically a shortened modified BCG with two side recoil springs that cycles within the upper receiver, allowing to fire the gun with a folded stock.

Is the Mk18 Reliable? Colt/Daniel Defense Mk18 Torture Test

In this episode of TFBTV, James Reeves asks “is the Mk18 reliable?” For the unaware, the Mk18 is, more or less, a 10.3″ barrel short and compact AR-15 or M4 that is common in the special operations community. There have been criticisms of the platform over the years and calls for its replacement – but does it really need replacing? To answer the question, James reviews military and government reports about experiments on the Mk18 and discusses them. Additionally, and just for fun, the TFBTV crew and Pensacola Police Department SWAT throw together an informal torture test to see how tough the Daniel Defense DanielDefense and Colt full-auto M4 lower combo – similar to what would be issued to the special forces operators who use this setup – really is.

The Cheapest AR-15 vs. The Most Expensive (PSA vs. Daniel Defense)

In this episode of TFBTV, James Reeves gets his hands on the brand new Daniel Defense M4A1 RIII, which is the famed Daniel Defense DDM4, but equipped with the new RIS III handguard used by Special Operations. But at $2,300 MSRP, why would anyone pick up the DD M4A1 RIII, especially when you can get cheaper AR-15s for $400 and less these days? James puts this to the test by buying and building a budget Palmetto State Armory (PSA) AR-15 on and Anderson Manufacturing lower, two of the cheapest manufacturers in the AR-15 business. To make the contest a little more fair, James spends an extra $100 or so on a stainless steel barrel for the budget build, and compares accuracy between the two, as well as discussing the pros and cons of each. Check today’s video to see which one comes out on top.
