Ammo Bank Accounts? AmmoSquared Pivots from Subscription Model

Ammunition subscription services were a popular way for a lot of customers to order ammunition regularly so they could either keep shooting regularly or simply stock up over time with the various monthly subscription tiers. However, with an increasing amount of people looking for alternative stores of wealth that aren’t either purely intangible or easily sold, AmmoSquared has decided to make the pivot from a subscription-based business model, to a bank account based business model using ammunition as the storage model for wealth.

MDT Builds a 22LR Rifle with a Four-Foot Barrel!

Back in September of 2022, the mad scientists at MDT built a bolt action rifle chambered in .308 Winchester that had a six-foot long barrel made by screwing together two barrels. As you can imagine, that’s not an easy task because you have to make sure that the lands and grooves of the two barrels align and form one continuous rifling in the bore. Not easy, but apparently not impossible. They then cut that barrel in one-inch increments firing rounds after cutting every section and recording the ballistic data. The goal was to find out the influence of the barrel length on the muzzle velocity. Well, MDT has recently  repeated the same experiment except now with a rimfire rifle chambered in .22LR and fitted with an almost four-foot barrel (46.5″) made by joining two 26″ barrels. Let’s take a look at the results of this experiment.

The True Story of the "H&K Social Media Girl"

Social media is the face of the modern corporation. Businesses use it to connect with their target audience, build brand awareness, drive customer engagement, and ultimately generate revenue. In an effort to set themselves apart and resonate with their target audiences, companies have been hiring clever, quick-witted, and modish social media managers, often marketers hired as independent contractors. The absolutely brutal and anonymous Wendy’s social media persona stands out as a great example:

The Pitfalls Of Gun Culture, Cancel Culture, And Social Media

Both of of my professions revolve around life in the digital world – a place we can communicate, transact, and express ourselves at face-melting speeds. And just like the real world, our virtual lives are both blessed or cursed depending on the prevailing winds. When it comes to firearms, gun owners have pulled together using social media while simultaneously being ostracized by social media companies for representing one side of a polarizing social/political debate. One of the most satisfying aspects of TFB is being able to rise above unproductive partisan discourse in favor of fact-based news, editorials, and reviews that don’t rely on emotional triggers for gaining readers and viewers. However, we are unable to avoid social media altogether because, obviously, we are social media.

The Mag Shack – Thousands of Factory Original and Aftermarket Mags

Let’s face it, magazines are a hot-button issue for a number of reasons, and not all of them have to do with the legality or even their capacity. A lot of times magazines can become infamous or famous simply because of their availability, or lack thereof. One notable example is the current availability of FN FAL magazines. 12-15 years ago you could find them on nearly every firearm, gear, or gun classified ad for pretty cheap, probably along with a bunch of ammunition the guy bought with the gun. These days FAL magazines are quite expensive for surplus models and a lot of them are probably banged up and close to the end of their life if not past it. This is why I’m happy to see another competitor in the magazine retailer market – The Mag Shack. The Mag Shack stocks and sells thousands of OEM factory and aftermarket magazines for virtually every type of gun currently being produced, as well as firearms that are no longer produced or are very niche in nature.

[EnforceTac 2023] The Heckler & Koch HK437 with A-TEC Suppressors

One of the highlights each year is Heckler & Koch‘s booth at EnforceTac. It’s easy to underestimate this two-day exhibition and its importance for defense and homeland security. About 8,000 people from about 70 countries come to the Exhibition Centre Nuremberg each year, which may look like a low figure but Enforce Tac is a trade fair for professionals from government agencies with security responsibilities and the armed forces only. Next year the exhibition will grow with one more exhibition hall, and one day extra, and we’re already looking forward to 2024. Heckler & Koch has its natural place here, and their booth is always crowded. In this article we will focus on the HK437 in 7″ and 9″ configurations. We wish we could take even better pictures than these, but you have to fight to even get a short glimpse of these things.

By Our Powers Combined: Maxim Defense Partners with FPC

Maxim Defense, a well-known producer of higher-quality firearms, ammo, and suppressors has just unveiled its latest industry partnership, this time, with the folks from the FPC (Firearms Policy Coalition). The FPC is a fairly large Second Amendment public advocacy group that often goes to court to fight back against the encroachment that the ATF against law-abiding gun owners. This particular partnership is right up the alley of Maxim Defense since a lot of their product lineup consists of PCCs and other firearms that might end up as Illegal SBRs almost overnight should the ATF’s most recent pistol brace ruling be passed into law.
