Century Arms have announced a partial recall of BFT47 rifles after the discovery of some ‘durability issues’ which might ‘affect proper feeding and or chambering of ammunition’. Check out Century Arms’ notice below for further details and a full list of the rifles potentially impacted.

MDT Sporting Goods from Canada has acquired Long Range Arms, a company well known for their Send-iT electronic levels. If you’re a long-range precision shooter and not yet familiar with this anti-cant device, you should take a serious look. I bought mine a few years ago and it works very well helping me level my rifle for each shot. If you’re using a Spuhr mount, they have a special version that attaches directly to the mount instead of your Picatinny rail.

I’m sure most of you have noticed that the price of just about everything including, guns, ammunition, and gear is only getting more expensive as the year progresses. While the discussion on why that is happening can be had elsewhere, what hope do we gun owners have in updating or replacing our worn or used up gear if prices only continue to climb? One company, Grey Man Tactical is taking a stand against inflation by promising to not raise their prices and instead decided to cut prices on their products.

Those who live in the Mid-South might be interested to hear that the Remington has just opened its new Gun Club and Sporting Clays Course to the public and is currently hosting its inaugural Spring League. This new sporting clays course and the gun club are located about two hours west of me in Lonoke, Arkansas just off of I-40. The new sporting clays facility is located just a short walk from Remington’s historic ammunition factory.

Yesterday, the US Army announced the selection of SIG Sauer’s weapons and 6.8 hybrid metallic cased ammunition as the Next Generation Squad Weapons System (NGSW).

In my search for a few select models of Knight’s Armament rifle suppressors for reviews on TFB’s Silencer Saturday, I have contacted hundreds of FFL/SOT dealers across the United States hoping to get lucky and find one collecting dust on the shelf. I was pleasantly surprised to find that an overwhelming majority of dealers took the time to reply and tell me that I was on a fool’s errand – KAC QDC suppressors are back-ordered for at least a year while they fulfill military contracts. It’s one of the reasons I love the firearms industry and how I came to meet Alex Hague from Victory Range (VRA) and Armory and Evolve Range Solutions.

Today’s Photo Of The Day is a set of pictures of a special James Purdey & Sons shotgun dubbed the US Centenary Gun. This shotgun was created in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of Athol Purdey’s first sales trip to the United States of America. This special Purdey gun was unveiled in January of the current year, at Dallas Safari Club Convention.

Norma Precision Ammunition, a subsidiary of Swedish company RUAG Ammotec, will be setting up their headquarters, factory and distribution hubs in Chatham County, Georgia. The state’s governor, Brian Kemp, released a statement announcing the news on 11 April. The company shared the news on their Norma Shooting Facebook page saying “We’ve been calling Savannah “home” for a while now, but let’s make it official.”

Many of you will be familiar with Shoot Like A Girl. Shoot Like A Girl is a marketing company focused on getting more women into shooting and hunting sports and they’ve just announced a brand new partnership for their 2022 “Sea to Shining Sea” tour with Vortex Optics. Shoot Like A Girl and Vortex hope not only to get the best products to female shooters but get more of them more heavily involved in the rapidly growing scene of shooting sports.

Primary Weapons Systems is well known in the firearms industry as a quality rifle component company and has grown rapidly since its formation in 2008. One of the largest firearms manufacturers in the Northwest United States, PWS quickly grew from making accessories like compensators and other muzzle accessories to manufacturing venerated products like their PWS Long-Stroke Piston System. As of March 21, 2022, Primary Weapons Systems has been acquired by the Georgia-based company Vigilant Gear Holdings and joins a family of companies that now include Lone Wolf Distributors and Lone Wolf Arms.

The Ruger SR22 is a fun, compact-sized 22LR pistol that comes in various configurations and varieties ranging from a bone stock pistol all the way up to some raced-out versions from the folks at Talo and Iron Valley distributors. Ruger announced on April 4th, 2022 that they had discovered that a small number of pistols might have left and right frame inserts that are not properly secured together which in some cases can cause the internal safety mechanisms to not function properly causing an accidental discharge upon activating the decocker/safety. In addition, the following link will lead you to a page with a video explaining and demonstrating the exact signs that indicate that your pistol may be affected, as well as information for signing up for the free retrofit that will fix the issue.

The National Firearms Act (NFA) and the administrative, regulatory, and legal processes required to support it, are a de facto ban on firearms or accessories like silencers. There, I said it. But because the NFA is the law of the land, we have two choices if we want to shoot quietly: follow the rules or risk criminal prosecution. Given the choice, I prefer to pay $200, fill out the forms, and wait. Luckily a Silencer Central eForms approval has just come back in less than 90 days, which is about one-third of the time the process usually takes.

MidwayUSA announced a while back that they had begun construction on the single largest project in the company’s entire history – a new distribution center. MidwayUSA, like the rest of the gun industry, has seen explosive growth over the last 10 years and as a result, the team at one of the most popular online gun and sporting goods stores had to take a hard look at where they can increase efficiency to keep up with customer demand in a timely manner. Now at the start of 2022, MidwayUSA is in the final stages of completing its new 400,000 square foot distribution center which should help keep lead times down to a minimum.

Arms of America, an importer and seller of Kalashnikov rifles, pistols and parts kits, has announced that it is supporting Ukraine with every case of Russian ammo sold. All proceeds from these sales will be donated directly to a Ukrainian charity. This is unsurprising given Arms of America’s founding by combat veterans as well as close ties to WBP Rogow of Poland.

The US Army has released a sources sought notice for a 6.8mm conversion kit for the M240B and M240L machine guns. The kit will convert the weapons from 7.62x51mm to the 6.8mm round which wins the Next Generation Squad Weapon program. The move is essentially market research to find vendors who might be capable of providing kits that include all necessary parts to convert the 7.62x51mm M240s to the new round. This might include barrels, gas systems, action springs and bolt assembly parts.

When it comes to distributing firearm products, there seems to be a lot of gaps that are left unfilled with information or product information when it finally makes it to market. That is why the National Association of Sporting Goods Wholesalers has been working on their new SCOPE PLX (Product Link Exchange) platform which aims to standardize products across the industry between the manufacturers, and distributors.

In the fall of 2021, FEDEX completely stopped all private party shipping of handguns which left customers with only a single entity to ship handguns with – UPS. For 2022, FedEx also announced that it wouldn’t be handling any shipping of firearms unless the shipping person bears an FFL. This is where ShipMyGun comes in. ShipMyGun.com aims to give customers a more affordable way to ship their firearms over the standard rates provided to people through normal UPS channels which can be quite expensive.

The Italian Firearms Group (IFG) was established in 2010 and imports guns of the following four Italian gunmakers: F.A.I.R., Sabatti, Pedersoli and last but not least Tanfoglio. IFG and Tanfoglio have expanded their relationship and from now on Tanfoglio will only be available from IFG’s family of dealers and distributors.

Brooksville, Florida-based Adams Arms have been fulfilling a contract to produce carbines for Ukraine. Adams Arms haven’t stipulated which branch of the Ukrainian Armed Forces or Security Services the carbines are for but they stated that they have been working on orders for the past few months. The carbines appear to be  Adams Arms’s P1 model which has a Picatinny railed gas block with 3 adjustable settings and M4-style furniture. From the footage shown of the rifles, they do not appear to be select fire.

With the events in Ukraine still unfolding, some companies have kept quiet while others have spoken out. ATN Corp is one of the latter. ATN Corp shows no intention of keeping its voice muffled, and has announced its support for Ukraine against Russia’s invading forces.

Beretta Holding continues its streak of acquisitions and consolidation on the market. After years of work in this direction, and months of rumors in the market, the Holding can officialize the first step of full acquisition of the Swiss ammunition manufacturer RUAG Ammotec.

AMMO Inc announced today that it would be offering one million rounds of small arms ammunition to the Ukrainian Armed Forces. AMMO Inc is not selling this ammunition but rather offering to donate it to the Ukrainian military after the company heard President Zelensky’s request for ammunition rather than a ride out of the country. AMMO Inc is most well known in the United States as a vertically integrated company of ammunition and firearms components as well as the new operator of the popular gun auction site GunBroker.com.

The launch of a new sister brand for Modular Driven Technologies (MDT) has just been announced. MambaMag is intended to provide shooters with quality aftermarket magazines for factory rifles that increase their overall magazine capacity. This supposedly allows you to field higher round capacities on a traditional rifle without any need for drastic modifications to the platform. Their starting lineup should include magazine extension offerings for TIkka, Howa, Remington, and Lithgow rifles.
