Remington Firearms Invests $100M to Move from New York to Georgia

The Remington Firearms Company has seen a rollercoaster of moves, acquisitions, divesting and reorganization over the last year and it seems that the legendary firearms manufacturer isn’t done moving and shaking yet. The company announced on November 8th that it would be investing $100,000,000 into a new headquarters and research operation based out of LaGrange, Georgia, and will be hiring 856 people in the process over a 5-year timescale. Whether Remington Firearms invests in a new manufacturing line or is simply moving their HQ for tax benefits is unclear at this time.

Colt Safety Recall Regarding Modern Sporting Rifles

On November 3rd at around 4pm Central Daylight Time, a Colt Safety Recall was issued by the company in regards to certain Colt Modern Sporting Rifles (MSRs) regarding the hammers of certain serial number ranges and models produced by the company that all presumably use the same fire control group hammers. According to the recall notice, these hammers allow the rifle to discharge more than one round when the trigger is released. Colt has voluntarily initiated this recall in an effort to prevent the possibility of death or serious injury and has encouraged anyone who has purchased a Colt MSR since March 5th, 2021 to stop using it and check to see if their MSR falls within the affected serial number range by using this link or calling Colt Customer Service. Grief Ransomware Holds NRA Files Hostage After Alleged Cyberattack

A recent ransomware attack from a ransomware group known as “Grief” (with alleged ties to well known Russian cybercrime group Evil Corp), has stated that they hold 13 key files belonging to theNational Rifle Association that they intend to hold hostage or leak unless the NRA pays the ransom which is of an undisclosed value. At the time of writing, the NRA has declined to make any definitive statements confirming whether or not Grief had actually breached NRA cybersecurity and if the nonprofit 2nd amendment organization plans on paying any ransom.
