Baschieri & Pellagri White Blackout 12 Gauge Slug Loads
Italian ammunition manufacturer Baschieri & Pellagri has introduced a new 12 gauge slug load which is primarily designed for wild boar hunting. The new ammunition is called White Blackout. This ammunition was designed to provide an off-the-shelf slug load that is accurate and provides both deep penetration and maximum expansion. Let’s watch the video introducing this slug then go through its specs.
BET ON BLACK – How I Learned To Stop Worrying And Love 300 Blackout
As a follow up to last week’s Silencer Saturday where I professed my allegiance to the god that is 300 Blackout, I thought it might be a good idea to discuss my conversion in a little more detail. As I stated, my initial reaction came after comparing an MP5SD alongside a Sig Sauer Rattler with a proper decibel meter on loan from Allen Engineering. In the comparison, the Rattler shooting 220gr subsonic ammunition from Sig Sauer noticeably outperformed the MP5SD shooting 124gr JHP ammunition both in dB readings and old fashioned “that sounds loud” testing. Which is part of the reason I now love 300 Blackout.
Possible G3 Rifle Grenade Launcher in Yemen and Gaza Strip
A G3 patterned self-loading rifle with a collapsible stock has recently been observed through numerous online sources with Houthi fighters in Yemen and with an Al-Aqsa Brigade fighter in the Gaza strip. The rifle in question is a 7.62x51mm NATO G3-patterned rifle that has been modified to fire what would appear to be rifle grenades through a canister that appears to be a part of the trunnion and serves as a handguard as well. At this point the analysis is based upon the five available photographs that have surfaced and is thus rudimentary so far. Some have contended that the circular handguard is perhaps a craft-modified suppressor but we’ll present an argument that it most likely isn’t. We think it’s a rifle grenade launcher, but please, if any readers have some serious input on this, let us know.
New SIG Sauer Match Elite 9mm Pistol Ammunition
SIG Sauer has announced the release of their new Match Elite 9mm pistol ammunition. As the name implies, these loads are designed for competition shooters. It is advertised to be soft shooting and low recoil ammunition making it easier for the competition shooters to make fast follow up shots.
NEW 6mm Creedmoor Brass from Lapua
One of the newer calibers to catch the favor of long-range shooters is the 6mm Creedmoor. If it sounds familiar that is because the 6mm Creedmoor is a necked down version of the even more popular 6.5mm Creedmoor. While there is a definite following and demand for this new cartridge there are not a lot of components out on the mainstream market; at least in the way of brass. Lapua is now producing 6mm Creemoor brass to fill that void.
Ballistic Gel Testing of "The Littlest Shotgun"
A little over a year ago, we wrote about the YouTube channel called Kjaskaar which host replicated the sawn-off shotgun from the “Killing Them Softly” movie. Kjaskaar calls this firearm “The Littlest Shotgun”. He has recently published a part two video where he does ballistic gel testing of this gun. To keep up with the storyline let’s watch the first video once more.

Range Report: My First 1500-Yard Shot With Trijicon, Sabatti, and Hornady
This past week I was fortunate to attend a long-range shooting clinic at the JL Bar Ranch in central Texas. It was a writer’s event, so myself and about five other gun writers were all shooting the same rig, and what a rig it was:

SILENCER SATURDAY #26: The Power Of Quiet
Good morning everyone and thanks for coming back to TFB’s Silencer Saturday. Last week’s edition brought about some great discussions regarding sound meters, decibel readings, microphone placement and suppressors being “hearing safe”. While I didn’t agree with a few of you and some of you didn’t agree with me, I always appreciate a thoughtful discussion. Unfortunately, no metering tests occurred in the last seven days, so I don’t have any new data to share with you in today’s episode. However, I think I got something even more important: an expert discussion on the power of being quiet. I had the opportunity to sit down with my friends at Q, LLC for the better part of a day and talk about a variety of topics, one of which was decibel metering.
Berger Bullets Official 7mm Bullet of the US F-Open Rifle Team
With so many bullet weights, diameters and calibers to play with in regards to shooting one would almost think we have everything we need, right? Well, Berger Bullets is part of the minority that disagrees and continually tries to improve upon what we already have. They recently introduced a 7mm 184 Grain F-Open Hybrid Target bullet that shoots superb; even better than their own 7mm 180 Grain Hybrid Target.

Ballistic Machinist expands the range of his commercially available 12 gauges slugs. The latest addition to his product line are the shotgun shells loaded with slugs called “357 Defender”. Why is a 12 gauge slug named 357? Because it has a .357 caliber bullet inside it.
LFD Research Films the Firing of .300 Blackout in a .223/5.56 Chamber
The Internet is full of images of destroyed 5.56/223 AR-15 rifles that were accidentally loaded with a .300 Blackout round. It is not the best idea to try to push a .30 caliber bullet through a .22 caliber bore, is it? Of course, in the majority of cases, these are accidents that result in completely ruined firearms and even injuries to the shooters. In order to see what happens with the rifle in such a situation, LFD Research simulated it by chambering a .300 Blackout round into a 5.56 AR-15 and filming it in slow motion. Let’s watch their video.
Gyrojet Rocket Pistol & Carbine from the 1960s in Action
Taofledermaus, perhaps best known for their experiments with various types of shotgun slugs and their great high-speed footage of those slugs slamming into things, have shared something much rarer. Shooting footage of not just a Gyrojet pistol but a Gyrojet Rocket Carbine too!
Black Butterfly Ammo Responds To Fake Israel/Palestine Conflict Reports
In a strange case of internet misinformation, South Carolina ammunition manufacturer Black Butterfly Ammo has been pulled into the Israeli-Palestinian conflict with fake reports of their products being used to wound civilian protesters in Gaza. On multiple social media outlets, users are outraged by the use of “exploding” butterfly bullets and often the postings include the unauthorized use of images from Black Butterfly’s website that show expanded bullets used to hunt large game like hogs.
What is Old, Is New Again: ARDEC Developing Duplex Ammunition
The concept of stacking projectiles on top of each other inside a self-contained cartridge dates back to the 19th century. It has subsequently been revisited dozens of times by arms designers from all over the world. In the 1950s the US Military experimented with duplex (two projectiles) and multiplex (multiple projectiles) cartridges during Project SALVO. This experimentation eventually led to the creation of the 7.62x51mm M198 Duplex round.

BREAKING: Freedom Munitions Files Bankruptcy Petition
According to a public filing in Nevada, Freedom Munitions and its parent company Howell Munitions, recently petitioned the court for bankruptcy protection.
