How does it perform? Stick around for TFB’s first shots to find out.

G20SF vs G29SF: How Much Difference Does Barrel Length Make?
We put the 10mm Glock models 29 and 20 against each other head to head to compare velocity from the two barrels in this video and we also fired 10mm Underwood 220 grain hard cast and 10mm Lehigh 140 grain Extreme Penetrator into a long row of ballistic gel blocks to find out which is the king of penetration.
Totally Covered: NEW Speer TMJ Reloading Bullets
Speer is now offering two new selections of their Total Metal Jacket reloading bullets to consumers to grow their current line of available projectiles. The Total Metal Jacket line available to handloaders is currently pretty sparse with a total of only 3 offerings: two .30 caliber and one .22 caliber bullet to pick from. While the Total-Metal Jacket line of bullets is not built out into 100+ offerings it still serves a purpose for reloaders and provides a lot of valuable properties. According to Speer, some highlights of the TMJ line can be read below:
LOBAEV Arms to Develop Hypersonic Ammunition and Semi-Auto Sniper Rifle
The speed is considered hypersonic if it exceeds the Mach5 mark (5,626 fps) which basically means five times the speed of sound. In an interview given to Russian RIA Novosti news agency, Vladislav Lobaev, the founder and chief engineer of Lobaev Arms, said that they are researching the hypersonic ammunition and in case of a government support within a year they can create a precision cartridge that will have a muzzle velocity of 2,000 m/s (about 6,560 fps) which is roughly equal to Mach 6.

SILENCER SATURDAY #38: 38Spc Vs 300BLK
Happy second day of fall, suppressed shooters and thank you for joining us for TFB’s Silencer Saturday. Where steaming some milk for your pumpkin spiced latte is louder than most of our subsonic setups. With hunting season upon us, those who live in restriction-free areas can reach for their suppressed rifle of choice. For many hunters in the Eastern United States, a pistol caliber carbine with the right load can be a great choice for medium-sized game at distances up to 100 yards. But why pick 38Spc or 44Mag when you can pickup a bolt action 300BLK that will push balistically superior bullets at either supersonic or subsonic velocities? Similarly, is there a difference in decibel readings between 300BLK factory ammunition?
FRIDAY FACEPALM: ARDEC At Picatinny Arsenal Makes Cartridges Fly
Before we begin, yes everyone makes facepalm style mistakes. And while this one is over seven years old, the video simulation of an improved magazine design by the Armament Research, Design Engineering Research Center (ARDEC) at Picatinny Arsenal had me rolling. Here we have some of the best and the brightest minds working together to design an improved AR15 magazine, and the computer model shows the entire cartridge launching down the barrel.

Why Ammo Storage is MORE Important than You Might Think
Most firearm aficionados and gun gurus know that it is important to safely store their prized possessions. More importantly, if you have the space necessary and can afford it, it is a great investment to get a fire-rated safe that can store all of your gun related items. This should most certainly include your ammunition. Now you might be thinking… “But I have pallets of ammo, I can’t stick all of that in a safe!” First off, bravo! Secondly, I can understand where you are coming from, but there are several reasons why you might want to pony up for more ammo storage to protect both your firearms and your ammunition.
Russian-Made Techcrim 1911 Pistols
About a year ago we published an article telling about less-lethal SIG P226 clones made by a Russian company called Techcrim. Apparently, the company is planning to expand their line of handguns. Kalashnikov Gun Magazine has published an article telling about the three new 1911-pattern pistols that Techcrim is going to release to the Russian market.
Federal Premium Launches NEW Gold Medal Grand Paper Hull Shotgun Shells
Lately Federal Premium has been taking a lot of their ammunition offerings and modifying them to be even better than before. This has now extended into their Gold Medal Grand Paper Hull shotgun shells. Where some people might tread on the edge of safety with the phrase if it’s not broke, don’t fix it. Federal Premium tends to look at things through the different lens of if it’s not broke, let’s make the whole thing better! OK, I cannot state with 100% certainty that is exactly their thought process, but it cannot be far from it.
SILENCER SATURDAY #37: Subsonic 300BLK Shootout
Good afternoon everyone and thanks for coming back to TFB’s Silencer Saturday, where we consider hearing protection to be one of the core rules of firearm safety. Last week we discussed the performance of the Allen Engineering AEM5 suppressors on both .223 Remington and .224 Valkyrie hosts. Next month we are going to test some additional AE models on different barrel lengths and profiles. This week we are going to use the Sig Sauer MCX Rattler paired with the the SRD762TI-QD silencer to test MILSTD muzzle and at-the-ear decibel readings of different subsonic 300BLK ammunition. A small 300BLK subsonic shootout if you will.

Bullet Casting for Beginners, Part 3: IT'S ALIVE!!
We have arrived at the third part in out bullet casting series. Today we birth the pew. Our gestation period consisted of gathering scrap lead, sorting it, and creating our lead ingots.
