CX Bullets – Hornady's NEW Monolithic Copper Alloy Expanding Projectiles

Hornady recently announced a new line of monolithic expanding copper alloy bullet line named CX Bullets for short. The CX line isn’t Hornady’s first go at monolithic copper expanding projectiles and is said to be an improvement on the GMX bullet. The CX line will be offered in nine rifle calibers being produced for the launch, some of which have several grain weight offerings. The CX bullets feature a heat-resistant polymer tip to assist in expanding the solid copper alloy bullet upon entering game animals, and meet regulations in areas that require lead-free ammunition.

The 12th Day of TFB Christmas: Santa's Big Bag of Ammunition

Ammunition has returned to the shelves but at much higher prices than we saw them leave with. While the price hike to meet demand in these trying times hardly seems fair to most of us, it is simply just the reality we live in right now (and don’t even get me started on primers). Right now towards the end of this crazy year, I’m just happy that I can walk into the store and still find ammunition on shelves, and aside from a few particularly hot cartridges, most kinds of ammo are in stock and seem to be remaining at more or less stable pricing. I went through some of my most frequented sites to find in-stock and reasonably priced ammunition for you guys, so for Santa’s Big Bag of Ammunition edition for the last day of TFB Christmas, pick yourself, a friend, or a loved one a couple boxes of ammo for your own bag – the range bag. Merry Christmas everyone!

The Rimfire Report: Testing SK High Velocity 22LR Match Ammo

Hello and welcome back to another edition of The Rimfire Report! This week we are continuing this ongoing series by going over a type of ammunition I recently discovered from SK Ammunition. The new SK High Velocity Match 22LR ammunition claims to be able to help those competing in Rimfire Precision Series or NRL22 matches to reach out to farther targets with more confidence. The precision rimfire shooters in the crowd will no doubt know the disadvantages that high-velocity rimfire ammunition has when it comes to long-distance engagements, however, today on the rimfire report I sought out to test if this more budget-friendly ammunition could compete with some of what I consider to be the best ammunition for precision rimfire that are already on the market.

Alec Baldwin: Hollywood Should Hire Police To Monitor Prop Guns On Scene

Following the tragic shooting death of the cinematographer of the movie “ Rust“, Alec Baldwin TweetedEvery film/TV set that uses guns, fake or otherwise, should have a police officer on set, hired by the production, to specifically monitor weapons safety.” On the surface, it’s easy to see why someone outside of the firearms community would suggest this, police officers carry guns every day, right? The required training and yearly qualifications should, “qualify” them as someone in the know, yes? It makes sense that Alec Baldwin, unintentional shooter of Halyna Hutchins would be looking for answers and remedies to his situation. Let’s explore his suggestion about hiring police officers to inspect on-set firearms in the film industry.

This most recent Japan Lead Ammunition ban comes as a response to a survey conducted that showed that lead poisoning was present in several species after lead pellets were consumed by waterfowl.

TFB Weekly Amazon Deals 12: Restock on Reloading Supplies Edition

Primers disappeared from the shelves for quite some time and are now only just starting to show back up on the shelves in limited quantities. Although things might not be completely back to the way they were before all of this nonsense kicked off, this does mean that reloaders can start to spool back up their reloading presses and also that new reloaders can start to enjoy the hobby as well while supplies start to make their way back onto shelves. Today we’ll take a look at a couple of sale items on Amazon that cover reloading equipment, supplies, and other helpful tools for the hobby. Obviously, Amazon doesn’t sell projectiles, powder, or primers but we can still find a few helpful items on the site.

TFB Podcast Roundup 9: 17 WSM, Caliber Debates, and TFB B-Side Podcast

Welcome to TFB Podcast Roundup 9. This week I’ve gone back into a couple of older episodes from some of my favorite podcasts like the Vortex Nation Podcast and the Life Liberty and the Pursuit Podcast put on by the folks over at IV8888. This time of year is an exciting time for a lot of people within the gun industry as this is right around the time when many companies will start finally unveiling their new or improved products that they’ve been saving up for the NRA Annual Meeting and other expos. Sadly NRAAM was canceled at the last minute this year but that doesn’t mean the releases stop. Just last week alone two new rimfire pistols and one rifle showed up on the market and in particular, I think Diamondback’s 22LR revolver is something to be closely looked at for any rimfire enthusiast.
