The Rimfire Report: Do .22LR Bullet Coatings Matter?

Hello and welcome back to another edition of The Rimfire Report! This ongoing series is all about the rimfire firearm world and all of its different types of firearms, ammo, shooting sports, history, and more! One benefit that the .22LR has being one of the oldest self-contained cartridges in the world is that there is an extensive list of ammo types available to the end user. Whether you want hollow points, round noses, copper projectiles, fancy fracturing ammunition, tracer ammo, or even shotshell ammo - .22LR has just about everything. Depending on what you’re doing, different ammo types could prove to be a better overall choice than just opting for either the most expensive or the cheapest ammunition. One often overlooked feature that can drive the price and performance of ammo either up or down is the type of coating (if any) that is used during the manufacturing process. Today we’re going to take a look at the different types of coatings currently available and see what each offers the shooter and what ammo companies offer that type of coating on their ammo.

Designed by SIG Sauer, the XM7 is a 6.8mm rifle meant to replace the M4 and other legacy rifles, offering greater firepower and range. 5 Firearms To Have On Hand For A Natural Disaster

I remember my first hurricane as if it were yesterday. Shelves were barren, and lines to stock up on supplies stretched the span of entire stores. When the hurricane hit, it was a spectacle to behold. Wind and heavy rain whipped through the area, taking out trees and power lines. It was the experience that showed me Mother Nature’s wrath. It taught me the lesson that you can’t fight a natural disaster, but you surely can prepare for one. Power and water were out for days. The roads were un-navigatable due to large limbs and debris scattering the roads. I imagine the gun stores were closed for quite some time.

POTD: IWI Carmel - Thermal and Neons

Bravo42 Photography once again catches our attention, with this IWI Carmel. It’s a modern semi-automatic, short-stroke gas piston rifle for 5.56 mm NATO. As you may notice, there have been some alterations from the way an original Carmel comes delivered. There’s an ARCA place, a new pistol grip, a bipod and tritium iron sights. The suppressor is called R9 and comes from Yankee Hill Machine Co. The R9 is made to take a whole range of calibers, as long as you stay below 9mm of course. Last but not least, there is a thermal weapon sight called Clarion 640 from AGM USA, with a 640 x 512 thermal sensor.

If you happened to miss that article, be sure to click the link here to check it out. This week, I want to take a closer look at the differences when it comes to having a reliable range gun to practice with versus having a reliable carry gun. The Vista line includes four new variants, with 35 and 50-mm lenses, with or without integrated laser rangefinders. The thermal sensor is 640×512& 12μm, and the Vision+ System includes a -2560×2560 round display, which Nocpix claims gives a more visual experience than a square display. Most of you will know that platforms like YouTube tend not to be so friendly with channels like TFBTV. While it would be nice if we could be treated equally on the platform, the sad reality is that we often just have to adapt to work around the new rules imposed on us. Moving to a new platform is a nice thought, but unless your entire audience moves with you, it’s a more or less fruitless endeavor. Joe of the YouTube Desk Pop has had a lot of struggles with YouTube and his channel lately and today we’ll discuss some of the ideas he has about how to keep his channel alive on YouTube while dealing with the common trends of demonetization and lack of support on the platform form YouTube itself.
