Springfield Armory debuted their Hellcat pistol as the “world’s highest capacity, micro-compact” several years ago, and they have been building out that family of pistols ever since. This includes their Hellcat RDP (Rapid Defense Package), Hellcat Pro (longer barrel, longer grip), and OSP variants (“Optical Sight Pistol” – optics ready). Now, they have announced the most feature-rich iteration yet with the unveiling of the Hellcat Pro Comp OSP.

We all know Vortex Optics for having a wide breadth of glass for us to choose from regardless of our use case. This includes micro red dots which Vortex has been revamping in recent years with the unveiling of their Defender series. Now, Vortex Optics has announced the next optic in the continuation of their Defender series of micro red dots with the unveiling of the Defender-XL.

Most of TFB’s readers won’t believe this, but FN Herstal has just announced that their new ultralight machine gun FN EVOLYS has been given a few modifications based on feedback. It’s as if the feedback commonly read in TFB’s comments section in EVOLYS articles had been incorporated into the new product. However, according to the press release, the feedback comes ”from in-depth testing by potential customers during their own evaluation”.

As a Professional Hoser, I can tell you that the Lee-Enfield is the greatest bolt-action fighting rifle ever made—sorry, Mauser fans, but the record is 2-0. And while you could argue about the respective merits and strong points of all Lee-Enfields ever made, one model stands out for its fighting career at a time when bolt-actions were long fallen from favor. The L42A1 served the British military from 1970 through 1990 and now, Jeff John has a new book published with the life story of this sniper rifle.

The world continues to seemingly become infatuated with the modern lever action rifle. Some may call them tactical lever actions. Perhaps the actual difference is the number of holes and M-LOK slots one has over the other. Regardless as Rossi continues to expand its lineup of excellent products they have answered the call for a modern lever action 30-30 with the R95 Triple Black 30-30. Hello and welcome back to another edition of The Rimfire Report! This ongoing series is all about the rimfire firearm world and its many different types of guns, ammo, and history. Last time we talked about the concept of a gas-operated 22LR rifle or pistol. While the concept is a neat exercise in “can we do it” the reality of the situation is that the 22LR cartridge is not meant for nor would it be suitable for anything other than a manual or standard blowback semi-automatic action. This week I want to talk a bit about an obscure pistol I’ve been trying to get my hands on for years – the elusive and massive AMT Automag II .22 Magnum rimfire pistol. Born out of the technological revolution of the 80s, the Automag II is equal parts hand cannon and target pistol. This is one rimfire gun I’d love to see make a comeback and hopefully today I can show you why.

SIG Sauer have announced that a P320-M17 version of their ceremonial M17 pistol will be available. The Ceremonial M17s were introduced in October 2018 and have equipped the honor guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier since.

Michigan-based Next Level Armament have announced the introduction of their 6ARC Phoenix Rifle. The new rifle has Helix 6 Precision Carbon Fiber barrels and is available in 16”, 18”, and 20” barrel lengths, all with a 1-7 twist rate.  The 6ARC chambering joins their range which also includes .308, .450 Bushmaster, 5.56×45, 450 Legend, and 9mm. MSRP on the new rifle starts at $3,039.
