Crow About It! Galco Corvus Speed Cut Holster for SIG P365 X-Macro

Corvus might be a simple genus of birds correlating to crows and a similarly related genus of passerine birds, but the  Galco Corvus Speed Cut Belt/Inside-the-Waistband (IWB) Holster is nothing to crow about! (You didn’t think you’d be getting an ornithology lesson along with a cringy joke when you clicked on this article, did ya?). Now, the  Galco Corvus is available for the SIG Sauer P365 X-Macro as well as other popular carry guns.

This is a review of the Schmidt & Bender 3-20×50 PM II Ultra Short riflescope, as a part of my mission to review all of the PM II models. Concealed Carry Corner: Compensators On Carry Guns

Welcome back to another edition of Concealed Carry Corner. Last week, we talked about some things not to do when carrying a handgun. If you happened to miss that article, be sure to click the link here to check it out. This week, I wanted to take a closer look at the concept of having a compensator on your carry gun as a daily accessory. Springfield Armory was the latest to release a compensated version of their Hellcat line so it’s not a bad option to look at what compensators offer in the world of carrying concealed as well as some of the drawbacks. Let’s take a closer look at compensators on carry guns.

POTD: Jatimatic SMG with Laser Sight

For today’s Photo Of The Day, we have pictures of a Finnish Jatimatic submachine gun fitted with a Laser Products laser sight. Jatimatic is a very unique and rare firearm designed and produced in the ’80s. It is a blowback 9mm SMG with an angled barrel and bolt travel path to help control the gun, and a folding front grip that doubles as a charging handle and safety. This particular Jatimatic SMG is a pre-86 dealer sample and will be auctioned at Poulin Spring 2024 Premier Firearms & Militaria Auction (June 7-10). The auction house notes that chances are high this very Jatimatic SMG was used by Sylvester Stallone in the “Cobra” movie (1986).

Wheelgun Wednesday: Spohr Revolvers – German, Shooting Precision

In the United States when it comes to revolvers, there is what I would call the Big 3 – Smith & Wesson, Ruger, and Taurus – that command most of our attention and our dollars. Of course, that is an extremely narrow-minded list. There is Colt, single-action revolver brands, and innumerable others. Generally, these brands are $1,000 or less for most of their models (key emphasis on most) which is exactly what the American revolver market likes: affordable wheelguns. When you turn your eyes to Europe though, we start to see some extremely high-end manufacturers like Korth, Manurhin, and Spohr. Both Korth and Manurhin I personally discussed on TFB because companies like Beretta (Manurhin) and Nighthawk Custom (Korth) have been able to import them into the country. So, either I have handled/fired them personally, seen them at SHOT Show, or “I know a guy.” There is simply more info in the ether about them. Spohr, on the other hand, I know nothing about. That is if it were not for our beloved James Reeves from TFBTV. He has shed an appreciative light on the brand in recent years, and it appears that the brand is ever-so-closer to making its way into the United States. So, in this week’s edition of Wheelgun Wednesday, we are going to take a look at Spohr revolvers to see what they may be bringing to the US soon. Let’s dive in!

Fort Moore Loses 31 SIGs, Offers $5,000 Reward

Well, this is awkward. Even as the National Shooting Sports Foundation’s “Gun Storage Check Week” program runs June 1-7, promoting safe firearm storage, we see the U.S. Army has lost a pile of pistols, and it wants them back, badly. How badly, you ask? Fort Moore wants the pistols back so badly that they’re offering a $5,000 reward for info that cracks the case, as they believe the pistols were stolen.

Colt Canada have unveiled their C8A4 at the CANSEC 2024 trade fair in Ottawa. The ‘Canadian Modular Assault Rifle’ project is the latest element of the Canadian armed forces’ small arms modernization program which has seen the adoption of the SIG Sauer P320 as the C22 to replace the long-service Browning Hi-Power and the adoption of the C20 designated marksman rifle.

Limited Edition: Schmidt & Bender 6-36×56 PM II in RAL 7005

Schmidt & Bender has released a limited edition of their new 6-36×56 PM II riflescope. The color will be RAL 7005. Now RAL 7005 may not mean much to most people, but it’s a European color code where the classic colors have a 4-digit number in combination with the letters ‘RAL’ (for example RAL 7005). The first digit is a code number with ”7” representing grey. Number 8 is brown, and RAL 8000 should be known to most German gun aficionados. The remaining 3 digits are chosen sequentially.

Chinese AKs, Part 5: Jim Fuller about the history of China AK imports into the USA

Last year, I published a series of articles about the history of Chinese AK rifles, Part 1 was about the construction of the factories and the Russian assistance, Part 2 was about the proliferation of Type56, Part 3 was dedicated to post-Cold War changes in Chinese firearms manufacturing and in Part 4 I wrote абоут modern variants of Chinese AKs. However, I ignored one important part of China AK history – importation to the USA. And who knows it better than Jim Fuller, one of the most well-known veterans of the industry who contributed to the popularity of the AK platform in the US.
